Master Craftsman of the Pokemon World

#28 - Suicune? Waves of water!

Watching the Bellsprout leave, Guangtai shifted his focus to the effects of the crafted item.

Another craft with an event attached, but why isn't there a hidden event notification?

And the effects, they seem a bit hard to grasp at first glance, but a little thought clarifies their meaning.

For example, the word I'm about to spell out.

“Speaking of which, this stone tablet won't attract Unown and drag me into a space-time rift, will it?” Guangtai warily scanned his surroundings, making sure no large black eyeballs appeared before proceeding with the spelling.

Suicune.

The word is derived from the Japanese transliteration of Suicune, and the Unown's pronunciation is based on Japanese romanization.

Because he obtained the Clear Bell craft, the first Pokémon that popped into Guangtai's head when he thought about spelling a word was Suicune, especially since he had been pondering about it not long ago.

As the leader of Ho-Oh's guardians and closely related to the Clear Bell, he wasn't planning on catching it, mainly because his current strength probably wasn't up to par. So, since the Symbol Stone could establish some kind of connection with it...

Let me see what your head crystal is made of?

Suicune's head crystal... Guangtai didn't know how to use the crystal gem to make items yet. Perhaps it only required the energy emitted by the crystal? Suicune seemed to launch some attacks from the crystal on its head.

As for Ho-Oh, it was suspected to be related to the Unown and various ruins in the Johto region. If he could establish a connection, Guangtai decided to try and get a Rainbow Wing from it.

Of course, the original intention of making the Clear Bell wasn't to catch these legendary Pokémon, but simply to continue searching for more excellent and magical crafting techniques.

“If I can't find Suicune, I can look for substitutes... Ancient Crystal? Or...”

“Walking Wake?”

The image of an ancient dragon gradually emerged in Guangtai's mind. That guy had an extremely similar appearance to Suicune, but its overall style was more like a Velociraptor. As Suicune's Paradox Pokémon, it was available as a promotional gift and through event capture in the game.

Whoosh, whoosh.

At that moment, the completed Symbol Stone suddenly began to glow. The symbols carved into it, which resembled the Unown, emitted a blinding light. At the same time, Guangtai saw the water buckets in the room. The impurities in the buckets disappeared after being immersed in the light, turning the water absolutely clean.

“Huh, is this the so-called connection?”

Suicune possesses the ability to purify polluted water, turning it into absolutely clean water. It is known as the embodiment of the North Wind. Although it occasionally has embarrassing moments, the ability to purify polluted water is unique to it and doesn't belong to any special move!

By midnight, Guangtai had tidied up the materials and tools, and drowsiness swept over him.

The lights in the workshop went out, and Doublade leaned against the corner to rest. After all, it had done a lot of work today and had a fulfilling and enjoyable day.

Outside in the medicine field, Bellsprout rested in the soil.

The night was quiet.

Beside the workbench in the workshop, space subtly distorted, and a palm-sized E-shaped eye emerged from within the stopped clock.

Unown – Letter E.

“Un”

Guangtai had lived here for many days, and Unown E had been forced to move from the basement to the studio. It hid behind the cabinet and inside the broken old clock, trying not to move, so Guangtai and Doublade had never noticed its existence.

And Unown E had been observing Guangtai for a long time.

Its eyes looked at the “Suicune” word on the workbench and then at the sleeping Guangtai, who was emitting unconscious psychic energy.

This human's psychic power was gradually becoming stronger, and it gave Unown E several familiar feelings.

Was he an ancient Johto person, an ancient Sinnoh person, or a descendant of an ancient Celestic Town resident?

“Un”

Hoping to see Suicune?

But wanting to see Suicune not to catch it, nor to challenge it, but simply to see the crystal crown on its head?

What a simple wish.

Then let me help you.

Unown are attracted to strong emotions, fulfilling people's desires. Although the process is to materialize parts of the mind rather than creating something real, in a sense, it's like projecting dreams into reality, but it does have a real impact.

The light of Hidden Power covered the cottage, enveloping Guangtai and Doublade!

In the next instant, the “Suicune” word formed by the Symbol Stone on the table suddenly began to scramble, automatically forming another word.

In a dream.

Guangtai dreamed of the Burned Tower in Ecruteak City.

“Oh, a connection has been established?”

Because it's hard for people who are dreaming to realize they're dreaming, Guangtai didn't realize he was in a dream. The dream connected Guangtai and Doublade, and the two of them looked at the Burned Tower and walked inside.

Guangtai didn't remember how he got to Ecruteak City. Weren't there other tasks to do?

The most⊥new⊥small⊥said⊥in⊥six⊥9⊥⊥book⊥⊥bar⊥⊥first⊥hair!

That thought only existed for a moment before gradually dissipating. There were too many thoughts in the dream, easily suppressing clear consciousness and making people only indulge in the illusory world constructed by the subconscious.

Burned Tower, makes sense. The first time you see Suicune in the game is in the Burned Tower.

Legend says that it, along with Entei and Raikou, were three unknown Pokémon that were burned to death in the Burned Tower 150 years ago. Later, Ho-Oh revived them and changed their forms. To repay Ho-Oh's kindness, they volunteered to become Ho-Oh's guards.

The legendary beasts will appear at the bottom of the Burned Tower, and just like the anime world shows, you can't see the three legendary beasts at the bottom from the second floor of the Burned Tower, so you have to go down the stairs.

Unown E also appeared in Guangtai and Doublade's dream.

Just seeing Suicune is enough, right?

If you really want to see the real Suicune, then maybe there will be a chance in the future...

It followed Guangtai in the dream.

And at the bottom, muffled roars came from the dark bottom of the tower!

“Right, it's the legendary beasts, but I don't know what time it is. Why would the legendary beasts return to the Burned Tower, or have they not left yet?”

Guangtai's clear consciousness began to act up again, and Unown E quickly exerted its influence, constructing a reasonable dream.

Suicune just came back to visit, is that not allowed?

“Oh, it came back to visit, quite reasonable.” Guangtai realized.

Unown E: Whew (relief)

There must be something wrong with the brain of people seeking reality in the dream world.

However, at the bottom of the tower, as in the modified dream, there was only one legendary beast. It gradually walked out of the darkness, its body blue with white block patterns. It had a huge blue crystal-like headdress and two white ribbon-like tails, and its body was covered with purple mane, like thick clouds.

Unown E: Yes, that's Suicune

Guangtai exclaimed: “Eh? Wait, whose Suicune is this! This isn't Suicune!”

“Roar!”

The "legendary beast" at the bottom of the Burned Tower walked out of the dark area, revealing its full appearance as it roared. It certainly resembled Suicune, but rather than being a quadrupedal mammal, it looked more like a Velociraptor!

“This isn't 'Walking Wake'!”
