Mystery: Chaos Path

#171 - Both of them want to beat you up.

Facing Amon's slightly mocking words, Bethel not only didn't get angry, but instead curled the corners of his mouth, revealing a smile, and said:

"Sorry, you might have misunderstood something. No one ordered me; I actively chose to come here and beat you up."

Bethel spoke very bluntly, his azure eyes looking at Amon, very seriously, and said, "I wanted to do this back in the Fourth Epoch, but unfortunately, I never had the chance."

Amon's movements paused, his expression not particularly surprised. After all, he wasn't the kind of person who didn't know his own limitations, and he had a very clear understanding of how annoying he was.

So Amon just leisurely pinched his monocle, then sighed with feigned disappointment and said, "Too bad, I thought we were really friends!"

"We are indeed friends." This time, Bethel gave an answer that was beyond Amon's expectations. He looked at Amon, smiling, and said:

"But that doesn't stop me from wanting to beat you up. Also, don't waste your effort; I've already sealed off the space nearby. You can't escape."

Bethel hadn't been idle while chatting with Amon; he had secretly used his authority over space long ago.

"Heh! That's hard to say." Amon didn't seem surprised at all. The monocle on his face flashed at this moment, seemingly releasing something. The next second, a shattering sound came, and Amon's voice followed:

"Bethel, it's not your era anymore."

Obviously, Amon used his ability to exploit bugs to break through Mr. Door's blockade, instantly appearing thousands of meters away.

"You're right." Bethel nodded unhurriedly, a gemstone appearing in his hand at some point. He looked at Amon with a smile that wasn't quite a smile and said, "But that last sentence was a lie."

The gemstone shattered at this moment, and Amon's expression in the distance changed as well. He felt a binding force appearing within his body. It was the authority belonging to sealing. Under this force, the aura on Amon's body quickly plummeted, instantly dropping to the level of an ordinary Sequence 1. Even the monocle on his face, symbolizing the uniqueness of the Thief, dimmed at this moment.

In an instant, Amon realized that Mr. Door's actions just now were a trap. Whether it was mocking him or sealing the space, it was all part of the trap, the purpose of which was to make him use the power of bugs to break through the blockade, thereby achieving the prerequisite conditions for the seal.

A very simple trap, but it was difficult to avoid—if Amon didn't break through the blockade and was trapped in a space, he would still get beaten up.

"It's been so many years, I almost forgot that you're also a cunning fellow, Bethel!" But Amon was, after all, Amon. In a very short time, he adjusted his emotions and said to Bethel with a hint of emotion.

Then, Amon didn't try to escape again. Instead, he generously straightened his clothes before saying, "Who else wants to beat me up this time? Come out!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Amon felt a burning sensation appear behind him. Blood-red flames turned into a sharp spear, stabbing straight at the back of Amon's head, directly igniting the clothes on Amon's body.

Amon's body narrowly dodged this attack before the flaming spear pierced his skull. Then, he raised his hand and wiped his back, extinguishing the flames on his body before looking at the person who was slowly walking towards him not far away and said, "It's been so long, is this how you greet me? Medici."

Responding to him was a sky full of fire rain and Medici's mocking voice: "Indeed, how could this be enough!"

The fire rain fell, directly turning this area into a sea of fire, and Amon's figure also directly turned into ashes in the flames.

Medici, however, didn't show a seemingly triumphant expression, but instead narrowed his eyes.

"You're really holding a grudge! I just worked with Adam to kill you, and I wasn't even the mastermind. Do you need to hold a grudge until now?" The next second, Amon's slightly aggrieved voice sounded in the flames. Accompanied by a sigh, the flames disappeared and reappeared in the next second, only this time appearing in the sky above Medici's head.

"Unfortunately, your grudge is useless. An evil spirit that can only borrow the characteristics of Sequence 1, even if I'm sealed, what can you do to me?" Amon's slightly teasing voice sounded, and the flames seemed to be about to fall at this moment.

But the phantom of a silver-white giant snake flashed across the sky, Amon's movements stalled, and he was once again surrounded by the sea of fire. The next second, Amon, who had been showing ease all along, even stumbled for no reason.

"Ouroboros!"

Amon almost immediately realized who had come, raised his head to look at the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros, who appeared next to Medici. The always calm and composed Amon looked slightly gnashing his teeth at this moment.

"This is the Lord's order." Ouroboros glanced at Amon indifferently, giving him the answer he wanted, and said very honestly, "The Lord wants to beat you up."

After a pause, Ouroboros even added, "Every Lord wants to beat you up."

If Amon only smiled mockingly when he heard the first answer, his expression stiffened and his eyes became very scary when he heard Ouroboros's supplement.

Obviously, no matter how calm and composed he was, Amon was a little broken when he heard that his own father wanted to beat him up.

"…Then let Him come Himself." Amon was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly raised his head to look at Bethel, who had already arrived nearby, his eyes sharp, and said, "If the Sun God wants to teach me a lesson, let Him come Himself."

"Heh! You're thinking too beautifully, how can you take everything! If the Sun God beats you up, I'm afraid you'll enjoy it too much."

Rowan's voice sounded, with a hint of teasing. He, wearing the Lucifer persona, walked out from behind Bethel, standing shoulder to shoulder with the latter, smiling and looking at Amon, and then said, "After all, who here doesn't know that you, Amon, are a severe daddy's boy!"

After seeing the person who came, Amon raised his hand and pinched the monocle on his face. Although the person in front of him was completely different from the memories returned by the clone, but they were both High-Sequenced, so it was naturally impossible to recognize people by their faces. Amon naturally guessed that this guy in front of him was the one who summoned the Ancient Sun God a few months ago, giving him a taste of what it meant to have fatherly love like a landslide.

"It's you!" What Amon was thinking at this moment was unknown, but after a brief pause, Amon instead revealed a smile and said:

"I don't know what you want to do, but instead of cooperating with this group of trash, why not trade with me? As long as you can let me see my father, no matter what the bargaining chip is, you can name it."

"It sounds really touching." Rowan showed a fake smile, and said with emotion: "Although you, Amon, are a naughty child, your love for your father is indeed real…"
