Mystery: Chaos Path
#26 - The Fool is Reading "Time Travel Diary"
After discussing the topic of informants, Roland enthusiastically chatted with Klein for a while about the knowledge of the extraordinary domain. After thoroughly embodying the persona of a teacher, he sent Klein, who needed to go home for dinner, out the door.
Watching the trolleybus Klein was riding in disappear into the distance, Roland returned to the house. The clear, foolish college student smile on his face faded. He stretched lazily, chuckled, and muttered, "Klein, ah, he really is a good person..."
He really liked dealing with good people.
Putting aside other things, after this exchange, if Klein were a big shot, he probably could have taken off directly and borrowed power at least at the demigod level.
"What a pity, but being an angel investor isn't bad either..." Roland muttered in his heart, returning to the laboratory on the second floor. On the laboratory table, there was a half-engraved talisman, with spiritual materials casually placed aside, and a book opened on the right.
Roland walked to the workbench, threw the rune from the half-engraved talisman into the trash can, took out the materials again, and started crafting from scratch. After making another talisman, Roland yawned but didn't continue practicing.
Roland simply cleaned up the lab table, left the house, and arrived at an uninhabited apartment. This was Roland's other safe house, where he received certain letters from Backlund.
Roland opened the mailbox and found a letter lying quietly inside. There was no postmark on the envelope, indicating it had been delivered directly.
Roland picked up the letter, entered the safe house, and opened the envelope to examine its contents. This letter naturally came from Mr. A in Backlund. The content of the letter mainly concerned information about some extraordinary individuals recently active in Backlund. This was the content of Roland's deal with the Aurora Order.
At the end of the letter, another matter was mentioned—Mr. A mentioned that someone seemed to be buying up the Roselle's Diary recently. He had already sold all the diaries Roland had provided last time, according to Roland's instructions.
Roland raised his eyebrows and revealed a playful smile: "In that case, my 'Transmigration Diary' might soon appear at the Tarot Club. It's a pity I'm not a member of the Tarot Club yet..."
"When Mr. Fool sees the diary, he will probably guess something about my background. He will definitely guess whether the diary was written by me and divine it. This way, when we meet next time, I can know whether the gray fog can eliminate the interference of the Nyarlathotep fragment..."
Roland muttered in his heart. He had deliberately shaped his persona into its current form for the purpose of testing.
Anyway, even if Klein really divines that the diary came from him, it doesn't matter—isn't it normal for a clear, foolish, fun-loving college student to forge some Roselle's Diary to make money?
Roland then thought of the salted fish duo in Backlund. After thinking for a moment, he took out stationery and began to write a letter, not to Mr. A, but to Hugh and Fors.
In the letter, he first expressed his greetings to Hugh and Fors, then politely inquired about their progress in investigating The Fool, and finally wrote:
"...I have investigated that the Abraham family seems to be a noble family of the Tudor Empire in the Fourth Epoch. Because they were loyal to the Blood Emperor, they have always been at odds with the Trunsoest Empire. So, is there a possibility that the curse suffered by the Abraham family is related to the Trunsoest Empire?
We all know that Backlund once belonged to the Trunsoest Empire, and some noble families even used to be loyal to the Trunsoest Empire. So, in the books of these ancient noble families, might there be records of this?
Perhaps we can try to contact the nobles of Backlund to obtain knowledge in this area.
Your loyal friend, Jack Jones."
Roland's purpose in writing this letter was none other than to guide Hugh and Fors to actively contact Audrey Hall and the others. After all, with his butterfly effect, Roland wasn't sure whether the current Fors would still contact Audrey and the others because she wanted to get Hugh out of jail, as in the original story.
Roland wasn't the type to sit and wait for death, so he chose to take the initiative—others might not care about the salted fish duo, but when it came to the Full Moon Curse, even the salted fish duo would perk up.
After writing the letter to the salted fish duo, Roland took out his pen and began writing letters to others, one to Mr. A and one to Azik. After writing them, Roland took out his pocket watch and glanced at the time, seeing that it was already past nine o'clock in the evening. He couldn't help but shake his head: "With this schedule, I'm really afraid I'll die suddenly."
Going to bed at nine o'clock in the evening wasn't too late, but Roland had already stayed up for three days. If he continued, he felt like he was about to ascend to heaven.
"Forget it, listen to advice and eat your fill. I should go to bed early!" Roland shook his head, first went to the post office to mail the letters, and then returned home to catch up on sleep.
...
Monday, 3:00 PM.
Klein convened his third Tarot Gathering.
He first congratulated Audrey Hall on her advancement to Sequence 9 Spectator, then took the Roselle's Diary from Alger Wilson and Audrey Hall, and began the traditional project of future Tarot Gatherings—The Fool reading Roselle's Diary.
The first three pages of the diary were fine, mainly recording Roselle playing pirate梗 after transmigrating, discovering an unnamed island, being forced into an arranged marriage and then resisting before falling in love, etc., allowing Klein to gain various knowledge while also忍不住吐槽 in his heart.
But when Klein turned to the fourth page of the diary, which was the second page provided by Audrey Hall, he was stunned, because the diary was written like this:
"June 29th, Sunny.
No one is wrong, one first, one hair, one inside, one content, one in, one see, one see!
It has been three days since I came to this world..."
The content of the diary wasn't much, mainly telling the story of a transmigrator who wanted to lie flat after transmigrating but found that his identity after transmigrating had a powerful enemy, so he could only strive to become a thief, only to be caught by the enemy in the blink of an eye.
However, in the first three pages of Roselle's Diary, Klein had seen how Roselle joined the Steam Church and became a Scholar, and that Roselle's family after transmigrating was the Gustav family. This page of the diary wrote that the diary's owner transmigrated to a family called the Zoroaster family after transmigrating.
And the great enemy of this family was called Amon.
"If Roselle wasn't full and had nothing to do, forging his own diary, then this last page of the diary probably belongs to another transmigrator." Klein muttered in his heart, unexpectedly not feeling too surprised.
Mainly because he was used to it. When Klein first transmigrated, he knew about the various major events caused by his transmigrator senior Roselle. Then, a few days later, Klein met Jack Jones, a fellow townsman, so he had long been prepared that there was more than one transmigrator in this world, and there might even be many transmigrators.
