Mystery: I Married the Queen of Mystery
#55 - Incomplete Mysticism
"The Hermit" Audris smiled after hearing "The Hanged Man" Alger's question, "I know that in most people's minds, magic arrays are useless."
"That's because they don't understand what spirituality is, nor do they understand the meaning of mystical symbols."
"Justice" Audrey asked with some curiosity, "Mr. Hermit, I've also studied some mystical symbols, and they don't seem very difficult to understand."
Audris said, "That's because you've learned common mystical symbols, or rather, universal mystical symbols. Magic arrays composed of those symbols do have limited effects."
Alger asked, "Are there some uncommon mystical symbols?"
"Yes."
Alger asked again, "Mystical symbols that even the churches haven't mastered?"
"That's right." Audris smiled, "When the churches of the Seven Gods rose, many mystical symbols had already been lost."
Even Klein behind the gray fog was a little surprised, "The Hermit" has quite the tone!
Audrey had a similar assessment, but then she thought, "The Hermit" isn't someone who likes to exaggerate; what he just said was stating a fact.
Alger didn't think so, but he also knew that each Tarot Club member was extraordinary, so he didn't rush to express his opinion.
At this time, "The Sun" Derrick said, "Mr. Hermit, are you researching the mystical symbols we use?"
Before the Great Cataclysm, there was no mention of the churches of the Seven Gods, but in Derrick's impression, magic arrays didn't seem to have much practical use in combat.
Audris smiled, "This isn't a matter of time. Hmm, before discussing this issue, let me ask everyone a question: in your impression, what are mystical symbols?"
This stumped everyone. Finally, Alger briefly described the Storm Church's interpretation of mystical symbols: "They are symbols for humans to communicate with nature and the extraordinary."
Then he spoke of his own feelings: "But such communication seems to require reaching a certain level to be effective. At least, I haven't felt any effect so far."
Audris asked again, "Everyone knows Ancient Hermes and Giant language, right? Why are these two languages different from our daily language?"
Klein knew this. He manipulated "The World" and said in a hoarse voice, "That's because they have undergone a long period of evolution. Moreover, in daily life, our language doesn't need to mobilize the power of nature."
"That's right, evolution." Audris raised his hand and said, "Giant language and Ancient Hermes language can still mobilize the power of nature, but mystical symbols, which also communicate with nature, no longer have such an effect."
Klein understood and continued to manipulate "The World" to ask further, "Are you saying that these mystical symbols, during the evolutionary process, like Luen and Feysac languages, have lost the ability to communicate with nature?"
Alger asked another question, "Is there an inherent connection between mystical symbols and Giant language or Ancient Hermes language?"
At this point, Audrey and the others felt a little strained, but they could still understand what they were saying.
Audris first answered Alger's question, "In our normal lives, language and writing work together to record and convey information."
"Then, in the field of mysticism, why shouldn't it be the cooperation of language and writing?"
Alger was stunned and couldn't refute for a moment.
Then Audris answered "The World's" question, "Not only have they lost the ability to communicate with nature, but my research has found that the human mystical symbol system is very incomplete."
"It's as if there are some meanings we can express with language, but we can't find corresponding words."
The hall fell silent, because the mystical knowledge of the other members present hadn't touched on this aspect.
After a while, "The World" said, "This is very profound research."
Alger also felt the same and had no intention of refuting.
Audris spread his hands and smiled, "This is probably my research direction. Oh, right, I also want to initiate a transaction."
Everyone came back to their senses one after another and looked at "The Hermit," wondering who he wanted to initiate a transaction with.
Audris said, "I want to trade Sequence 9 potion formulas with everyone."
"The Magician" Fors asked, "Which pathway?"
Audris asked in return, "May I ask which pathway you are on?"
"Apprentice."
"Then I will trade you the 'Apprentice' potion formula." Audris said, "How about 260 pounds?"
Half of the members of the mystical research society he formed were "Low-Sequence" Beyonders, and half were mystical enthusiasts who yearned to become Beyonders and possessed certain intelligence channels.
This was because Audris was only a Sequence 9 at the time. If he recruited "Mid-Sequence" members, he was afraid he would be difficult to control. Therefore, the Beyonder members among them were all "Low-Sequence."
Now that he was Sequence 8, he planned to sell the formulas to those mystical enthusiasts.
Before this, he had strictly forbidden the sale of formulas at the gathering, because although members such as "The Hound" had potion formulas, they basically wouldn't sell them, or they had to report to their superiors and only sell them after their superiors agreed.
And "Peacock" and "Wolverine" would definitely be willing to sell formulas, but they possessed the potion formulas for pathways like "Assassin" and "Seer."
Audris didn't intend to turn the research society into a base for cultivating members of evil cults, so he simply prohibited the sale of formulas.
Now that he was preparing to lift the restrictions, he planned to master more pathway formulas and present them to the mystical enthusiasts.
This way, they would have more choices. If someone still chose the "Assassin" or "Seer" formula, Audris wouldn't interfere.
Fors thought for a moment and said, "Deal."
Although she had used Mrs. Anissa's Beyonder characteristics to become an "Apprentice," she later obtained the "Apprentice" potion formula while sorting out Mrs. Anissa's belongings.
This formula was useless there, and she had no reason to refuse the 260 pounds that were beckoning to her.
Fors applied to Mr. Fool and "expressed" the "Apprentice" potion formula, while the gold pounds would be paid to "The Magician" after the gathering by offering them to Mr. Fool.
Audris then said to Audrey, "Miss Justice, are you planning to sell a Sequence 9 potion formula?"
Audrey also thought for a moment before saying, "Sure, but I don't want gold pounds. I want to ask you some questions about mystical symbols."
Audris thought, 'She really treats gold pounds like dirt.'
He nodded, "Okay, as long as it's not confidential information, I can trade with you."
"Let me think about it first." Audrey said, "I haven't thought about what to ask specifically yet."
"Alright."
So Audrey also applied to Mr. Fool for paper and pen, "expressed" the "Audience" potion formula, and it appeared in front of Audris.
Audris then went to ask "The World," "Are you planning to sell a potion formula?"
"The World" chuckled softly, "Of course, but I have a potion formula here that you'll be even more interested in."
Audris was stunned, "Which pathway? Which Sequence?"
"The World" said in a low voice, "'Seer' pathway, Sequence 7, 'Wizard.'"
