Natural God's Gift
#64 - Transaction completed
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master, Torch Mountain Master, and Green Land Mountain Master simultaneously extended their claws, drawing out silk to weave a single silken scroll, imprinting their soul signatures upon it.
The silk of Flame Spider Merchants can be woven in a color of choice before it's produced. Usually, the silk pouches woven by the Watanabe Flame Spiders are ochre, those woven by the original Flame Spiders are cyan, and those woven by the Iridescent Flame Spiders are aquamarine. One can tell which tribe the insects are closer to by the color of their silk pouches.
Spider contracts uniformly use black silk as a base, supplemented by the color of their respective clan. The silken scroll woven by the Purple Cloud Mountain Master and the others is essentially a bond.
The gist of it read: In a certain year of the Star Realm, the Purple Cloud Merchant Troupe exchanged a Flytrap God-Given Seed from the claws of the White-Striped Mosquito Tribe for a bond of forty million.
The debt is to be repaid at a rate of eighty thousand Origin Stones per year, with a term of five hundred years. If the Purple Cloud Merchant Troupe is unable to fulfill the debt on time for any reason, the debt will automatically transfer to the Flame Spider Kingdom.
Finally, the symbols of Purple Cloud Clover, Torch Grass, and Green Leaf Groundcover are woven on.
The Blood Vine Lord watched the Flame Spiders weave the silken scroll, stepping forward to examine it. Their inherited memories lacked writing, but after dealing with the Flame Spider Merchants for so many years, it had learned some Flame Spider characters.
The Blood Vine Lord twirled the silken scroll, examining it for a while: "Purple Cloud Mountain Master, this only has your merchant troupe's symbol. Will your kingdom recognize it?"
Purple Cloud Mountain Master: "Blood Vine Lord, rest assured. As long as you hand over the Flytrap God-Given Seed to me, I will naturally have a way to get the kingdom to recognize this transaction."
The Blood Vine Lord's enormous compound eyes looked at Fourleaf: "My meaning is, didn't you say this little spider is a future Spider King? Should we have it imprint a soul signature as well?"
Purple Cloud Mountain Master: "Fourleaf is not a spider of our merchant troupe. It's just following the troupe to play. I'm only letting it be a witness, and I have no right to make it do anything."
"Oh," it seemed this little Flame Spider was indeed a bit different.
The Saltbush Mountain Master flew over, carrying a small silk pouch. It handed the pouch to the Purple Cloud Mountain Master: "Purple Cloud Mountain Master, inspect the goods."
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master opened the silk pouch, pinching out the seed inside to examine it. The Torch Mountain Master and the others also curiously crowded around. Fourleaf, perched on the Torch Mountain Master's head, strained its neck to look, oh, spiders don't have necks.
The Flytrap God-Given Seed was different from the other God-Given Seeds Fourleaf had seen. The Lucky Clover God-Given Seed and the Morning Glory God-Given Seed were tiny, round grains, while the Mangrove God-Given Seed was like a small chili pepper.
The Flytrap God-Given Seed looked like a sesame seed, only one or two millimeters in size, with faint gray Origin Power patterns forming mysterious designs.
"Purple Cloud Mountain Master, can I see it?" Fourleaf felt the Origin Power aura on the God-Given Seed was very familiar to it.
"Be careful, don't drop it." The Purple Cloud Mountain Master handed the Flytrap God-Given Seed to Fourleaf, while it rummaged through the silk pouch on its back. After a while, it took out a round, silver-white extraterrestrial civilization artifact.
Although it was round, it had several distinct horizontal and vertical lines on it. The surface of the sphere also had various complex patterns. The Purple Cloud Mountain Master turned it back and forth, feeling like it was similar to the Rubik's Cube Fourleaf and the others had played with in the kingdom.
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master twisted it a few times, and actually opened the small sphere directly.
"Give me the God-Given Seed."
"Here." Fourleaf handed the Flytrap God-Given Seed to it.
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master took the God-Given Seed from Fourleaf's claws and placed it inside the extraterrestrial civilization artifact, then closed the lid, turning it back and forth, up and down, about seven or eight times, and the small sphere was tightly sealed again.
"Purple Cloud Mountain Master, this is..."
The Flower Mosquito warriors were all a little curious. They had never seen such a thing before.
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master said calmly: "An extraterrestrial civilization artifact for storing precious plant seeds."
The Flower Mosquito warriors were envious. Flame Spiders had many good things they had never seen before.
Unexpectedly, the Purple Cloud Mountain Master handed the extraterrestrial civilization artifact to the Blood Vine Lord: "Blood Vine Lord, your Flower Mosquito tribe excels at flying. Send an insect to take this extraterrestrial civilization artifact, along with the silken contract, back to the Flame Spider Kingdom and give it to either the Ginkgo Lord or the Maple Lord. They will understand the reason then."
The Blood Vine Lord hesitated slightly, taking the extraterrestrial civilization artifact: "Is it necessary for your kingdom to certify it?"
Purple Cloud Mountain Master: "Yes, as long as the Maple Lord or the Ginkgo Lord stamps their mark on it, the contract will be officially established."
"So simple?" Many Flower Mosquito warriors were full of doubt, wondering if their God-Given Seed would be taken and not paid for. If the God-Given Seed was sent to the Flame Spider Kingdom and they didn't acknowledge the debt, they would be truly helpless.
The Green Land Mountain Master said calmly: "Everyone, a transaction of forty million Origin Stones may seem large to you, but please do not underestimate the strength of our Flame Spider Kingdom. We would not damage the reputation of the Flame Spider race for such a small amount of Origin Stones."
"That's right," the Torch Mountain Master chimed in: "Last winter, our kingdom also traded a Mangrove God-Given Seed, which is hundreds of times more valuable than the Flytrap God-Given Seed. Although exchanging God-Given Seeds in our kingdom doesn't happen often, it does occur every now and then.
You can rest assured about this. If our kingdom didn't even have this much credibility, we wouldn't be able to travel and trade on the continent for so many years!"
"Mangrove?" The Flower Mosquito warriors searched their inherited memories, discovering that the Mangrove's function was also earth-elemental ability enhancement, and it even enhanced earth-elemental attack abilities. Whether in terms of yield or quality, it was in no way inferior to their newly acquired Bird Cherry God-Given Seed.
Moreover, even if a large arbor God-Given Seed is sown as a wild God-Given Seed, the probability of growth and evolution far exceeds that of herbaceous God-Given Seeds. It can be completely cultivated as a clan-guarding divine tree, planning for the clan's millennia and tens of thousands of years.
They intended to sow their Bird Cherry God-Given Seed as a wild God-Given Seed. They hadn't expected that there would actually be insects willing to trade such a precious God-Given Seed. What price would the Flame Spider Merchants have to pay?
Now they were truly shocked. If what the Purple Cloud Merchant Troupe said was true, then the strength and wealth of the Flame Spider Kingdom were far too great.
Blood Vine Lord: "Purple Cloud Mountain Master, there is no doubt about the wealth and credibility of your Flame Spider Kingdom. I will now personally make a trip to the Flame Spider Kingdom."
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master stuffed the extraterrestrial civilization artifact and the silken contract scroll into a silk pouch together: "Then I'll have to trouble the Blood Vine Lord. Please also help me give a message to the Horseweed Mountain Master in the kingdom, saying that Fourleaf and Angelica have secretly run into my merchant troupe. If you don't have time to come and get them in a short time, I'll take them on a trip around the continent first."
The Flower Mosquito warriors suddenly understood. So they had secretly run away? They were wondering how such an important little spider would be running around with the merchant troupe at such a young age.
Blood Vine Lord: "Should I send them back on the way?"
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master shook its pedipalps, refusing: "They are too noisy, I need to keep an eye on them."
If the two little spiders were taken back by the Blood Vine Lord and something happened on the road, the entire kingdom would be shaken, and it couldn't bear this risk.
"Alright! Purple Cloud Mountain Master, please stay here for a day, I'll be right back." The Blood Vine Lord saw the Purple Cloud Mountain Master's worry, and without saying anything more, picked up the silk pouch. With a gust of wind from its wings, it flew into the air, found its direction, and quickly left.
It was also uneasy, afraid that the Purple Cloud Merchant Troupe or the Flame Spider Kingdom would not acknowledge the debt when the time came, so it would go to the Flame Spider Kingdom to certify it while the Purple Cloud Merchant Troupe was still in the tribe.
At the speed of a Lord-level Flying Mosquito, a journey that would take the Flame Spiders more than ten days would only take it a few hours.
The Purple Cloud Mountain Master was not in a hurry either. After the two Flower Mosquito warriors broke through, it took out two fragrant Walnut Seeds from another extraterrestrial civilization artifact and gave them to them to gestate into Life Seeds, and then waited for the Blood Vine Lord to return.
