The detective agency's courtyard was bustling until after midnight.

The exorcism department people are relatively self-disciplined. Today is considered relaxation. According to the church's requirements, they drink but don't get drunk.

Seeing that the time was almost up, David Mills greeted Wayne, seemingly preparing to tell his people goodbye:

"Do you have any situations here tonight? If not, we'll head back. Several people have duty early tomorrow."

Oh,

You saw that?

David Mills didn't act mysterious. "The birds your detective agency keeps haven't made a sound all night, except for a pigeon that flew back earlier. And several people have quietly left. The owl has gone in and out three times, and people are secretly passing messages. Even these last two fights seem to be just killing time."

Not bad, worthy of someone from the special ops team, you've got something there.

It's just that you're going down the wrong path a bit. Don't even mention being a priest, I feel like you'd be more reliable as a mage than a lawyer.

Wayne then led David Mills into the kitchen. On the long table where the detectives usually eat, there was a map of the detective agency's surroundings, with some uncooked beans on it.

Without Wayne needing to explain much, David Mills looked down at it:

"Seventeen people, divided into three groups, with one group responsible for observing from a distance... were they sent by the guy who dueled you from Cohen Pharmaceuticals?"

"Not sure, but I think so."

Wayne made a slight correction, "With this number, our detective agency can actually handle it. But since their people are already here, they probably realized it's lively here right now and are temporarily afraid to act, so I was thinking of keeping them up for a while longer."

"Good if you can handle it."

David Mills looked at the map and nodded, "Then our people will leave first later? As far as I remember, the Riverbend area nearby isn't private land. If they don't launch an attack, you don't seem to have a reason to initiate an attack."

You could actually bring your people to help us...

Forget it, I won't bother with you newbie lawyers who are only halfway there.

The exorcism department's manpower belongs to the church after all. In a sense, it's 'public property'. Even if David Mills privately assigned them for his own sake, it could be considered a violation.

Wayne gave David Mills a hint, implying that after the detective agency finished dealing with the other party, they would send someone to report the case to the local exorcism department, so they didn't have to walk too fast on the road, lest they have to take a 'return trip'.

After explaining the situation outside, the exorcism department people prepared to disperse.

However, three guys who had been teased for half the night started yelling after hearing the news, "Cohen Pharmaceuticals people? Where's that bastard who made us lose money?"

A few cents is a small matter, but sometimes face is worth more than just that amount, right?

David Mills had enough prestige among them. The yelling guys quickly shut their mouths, and then the carriages gradually drove out of the courtyard.

...

According to the rules of the road, the deeper the water, the bigger the fish.

Since the other party was divided into three groups, with one group seeming to have the fewest people and being the furthest away, it felt like that's where the "big fish" was.

David Mills was still in the carriage, telling Wayne and a colleague, who were hitching a ride to "see them off," about the principles of self-discipline that public officials in law enforcement should have.

In the still quiet night, suddenly there was an explosion that could startle the birds.

"Bang--"

Then came continuous gunfire, "Bang, bang, bang, bang."

I didn't expect the peregrine falcon and owl to have caused so much trouble here for so many days, that there would still be so many birds in the nearby woods...

David Mills turned his head in shock, and then saw Wayne's innocent expression.

The guy next to him was still cheering, "Boss, it seems like a fight has already started over there, should we go stop the crime?"

Wayne wouldn't do things too absolutely. While preparing to get out of the car, he also thoughtfully comforted David Mills:

"You don't need to participate in the battle. I'll go check the situation first and see if the other party accidentally detonated the explosives."

The explosives were set by Lina, who took "Chameleon" and Liam to do it.

According to the prior agreement, if Lina and the others could solve the "big fish's" transportation without anyone noticing, they would release a pigeon to report.

If not, they would simply deal with the other party's carriage or horses first, making some noise.

Anyway, this is the wilderness,

Now that we're here, right?

With gunshots and explosions sounding in the distance, the detective agency soon became lively.

A white-haired figure flashed across the roof of the large warehouse, probably Inisa who had "woken up" early.

Wayne's temporary plan was simple: a small team would go see if the one in the distance was really the "big fish," and the main force would stay at home.

If they could catch the big fish first, they would return to provide support. Otherwise, they would "sandwich" the ones nearby first.

These guys don't know how to learn from each other. The same trick, the group from yesterday fell for it, and the ones who came tonight didn't learn their lesson either.

Oh, it seems like we didn't let anyone escape last night,

Then never mind.

Lina had been responsible for tracking in Richmond for a few days before, so she naturally knew what the core figures of Cohen Pharmaceuticals in Virginia looked like.

Since she chose to take action, it meant that a fish had definitely been hooked, so it was always right to clean them up first.

As for the cathedral side,

Cohen Pharmaceuticals' office isn't in Georgeberg anyway. Who would believe that bringing so many people here late at night is just passing by?

Wayne ran towards the "big fish" with a simple line of sight.

Running through the small woods was a bit troublesome, but at least he wouldn't hit a tree.

When he was about three hundred yards away from the explosion site, Wayne's spiritual intuition suddenly gave a warning.

Then he saw a firework rising into the night sky, and then bursting into a gorgeous red color.

The warning from his spiritual intuition wasn't as strong as when the "Wise Sage" descended before, but it didn't fade either.

Wayne's intuition told him that he was gradually approaching "danger"...

Um...

How should I describe it?

When Wayne first transmigrated and had a gunfight with people for the first time, he didn't have the so-called "spiritual intuition" yet.

But when Wayne picked up the gun and exchanged fire with those gang members, it felt something like this.

It seems like it would be a bit exciting.

Wayne felt the adrenaline in his body being secreted, and his running speed also increased a lot.

When Wayne came out from beside the last tree blocking his view,

He saw Lina dragging someone back...

"No, why are you running?" Wayne was a little surprised.

"That guy lost control and is now even eating his own companions. It looks like we won't be able to deal with him for a while, should we go deal with the guys who are attacking the house first?"

"Okay."

David Mills' voice sounded behind Wayne, panting and sighing, "Dealing with out-of-control fallen ones is the job of our exorcism department."

A voice further away echoed, "Boss, you're right!"
