A Fairytale Story (1)

Mo Linyuan’s words immediately calmed the man down. The man’s face showed disbelief before he lowered his head.

However, Mo Linyuan wasn’t in a hurry. He gave the rebel some time to ponder.

Originally, the Empress Dowager had imprisoned Mo Shiwen because she thought that Mo Shiwen knew the secret. In the end, Mo Linyuan killed him. If the Empress Dowager was correct in believing Mo Shiwen had really known the secret, he would’ve used it to keep himself alive. Therefore, Mo Linyuan deduced that Mo Shiwen didn’t know anything; he’d only been deceiving the Empress Dowager.

After Mo Shiwen died, Mo Linyuan purposefully investigated this and discovered that the Empress Dowager had been tirelessly searching for the legendary imperial treasures.

Moreover, he also coincidentally discovered that the Empress Dowager originally had half of the city boundary map in her possession. And in order to cooperate with the aristocratic families, she divided the map in three pieces and gave one to each of them.

However, the Wen family only requested for the queen title, so they didn’t take a piece of the map. This left the remaining parts to be given to the Zhou and Zhong family respectively.

Over the years, the aristocratic families and the Empress Dowager never gave up on searching for the city boundary map. Now, Mo Linyuan used this knowledge as bait to add more ripples to the already muddied water.

The assassin thought for a while before choking out, “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Mo Linyuan smirked.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what I’m talking about, the people you work for will know.”

After he finished talking, he waved his hand to signal someone to escort the leader of the assassins out of the room. The man may be exempt from the death penalty, but he will still live to suffer for his crimes. Hearing the splitting scream from a distance, chills ran throughout everyone in the dungeon. Only Mo Linyuan sat there with a smiling face, not giving away any of his thoughts.

Soon, the three-year hunting event arrived in a blink of an eye.

Although it seemed like a normal hunting event on the surface, Ye Mu was still worried. She originally wanted Mo Linyuan to cancel it. After talking to him about it, he only lightly smiled in response, but never cancelled it. As a result, the hunt was still being held as planned.

A week later, the people in the palace majestically arrived at the royal hunting grounds.

On the road, Ye Mu looked out the window of the carriage and saw the lush green forest with small animals running around. Notably, the surrounding was dense with tall trees and large boulders…a great place for an assassination attempt!

With this in mind, Ye Mu turned around and said to Mo Linyuan, “Why did you agree to attend? This place is clearly dangerous. What if there’s an assassination attempt?

Mo Linyuan, who was serenely sitting down with a book in hand, slightly raised his phoenix-like eyes to reply, “Of course, I’m attending to give them a chance to kill me!”

Ye Mu frowned.

Mo Linyuan chuckled before lightly tapping her forehead with his book.

“Think about it, ever since last time, the imperial palace has been placed under strict curfews. Anyone who wants to kill me can’t even get in. That’s why I can only come out here.”

Ye Mu looked at him suspiciously, “Stop messing around, just tell me, what schemes do you have planned for coming here?”

Mo Linyuan looked at her innocently, “How could I possibly have any schemes planned?

Ye Mu couldn’t help but roll her eyes. In the end, Mo Linyuan took the opportunity to pull her into his arms.

“Ok, something is bound to happen this time, but we just have to sit back and watch the show. Don’t overthink this too much. Do you want me to tell you a fairytale story?”
