Pawn Crossing the River

Chapter 111 Buddha Debt

Although Qi Xuansu deliberately concealed the death of Monk Xiao, the Buddhist sect must have known about it.

Not to mention whether there is such a thing as a "life lamp", Wu Shi Fa Wang was also an eyewitness. He was only temporarily suppressed and did not die. After all, he was a great golden immortal, and it was not so easy to die. If he was slapped to death by Qi Xuansu, a pseudo-immortal, even if Qi Xuansu had various external forces to bless him, it would have become a big joke.

Because Qi Xuansu rushed to kill Monk Xiao, Wu Shi Fa Wang was able to escape, and he would definitely bring this news back to the Buddhist sect.

With the death of Monk Xiao, the situation on the front line not only did not ease, but became more severe.

The reason is simple. The radicals in the Buddhist sect have an absolute upper hand. Now using Monk Xiao to exchange for Chen Zhengxian, that is, using immortals to exchange for pseudo-immortals, is a loss no matter how you look at it.

If the radicals can suffer losses, they are not radicals, so the radicals must make up for it, must expand the situation, and finally go all the way. There are only two results. One result is that the radicals win a great victory and gain temporary satisfaction, and the other is a complete failure, a dead end, and destruction.

So this situation is also expected.

Although the Taoist Jinque is eager to take revenge and there is a certain factor of raising troops in anger, it is not completely impulsive. There is still a method, increasing troops in stages and advancing step by step, so it is still in a stalemate.

At this time, a large-scale "weak Lang" broke out in the Dazun area, even affecting the Huqian County controlled by the Taoist, and interrupting the Taoist deployment to recover Chexia.

It is said that the Taoist method of controlling and refining corpses is the best in the world, and the Eight Divisions Plan is the culmination of it, and it has created "Emperor Shitian" and the three major yin objects. But the Buddhist sect is not much behind.

The so-called "weak Lang" is also called the corpse.

Legend has it that some corpses died of hunger and cold, evil thoughts and resentment before death, and they may rise within three to seven days after death and become weak Lang.

Especially in those areas with harsh conditions and sparse population, there are no big temples. The herdsmen there generally practice wild burial and abandoned burial. After death, people are directly covered with a piece of cloth and placed in a tent. In addition, the climate is cold and the corpse is not easy to rot. The legend of Ruolang has been enduring.

Ruolang is similar to the resurrection of the corpse in the Central Plains, but more terrifying. Before the corpse rises, the corpse will undergo terrible changes, with swollen face, purple skin, erect hair, and blisters all over the body.

Ruolang is also like a walking corpse. The joints are stiff and dead. It cannot bend or turn. But when it sees a living person, it will touch the top of the person's head with its stiff hands. The person who is touched will also become Ruolang, which is quite similar to the Buddhist initiation method.

This is also the "immortal" touching my head.

This kind of infectiousness is incomparable to the zombies in the Central Plains. In addition, due to his own obsession and past life karma, Ruolang will also inspire some supernatural powers, such as a certain degree of intelligence, or running faster than a horse, infinite strength, immortality, etc., which also vaguely correspond to the Buddhist's divine eye, divine foot, divine ear, leakage, fate, and heartache.

The reason why the doors of many houses in the Western Regions are built so low is that unless they are children, most people have to bend down to enter and exit, in order to prevent Ruolang from breaking in and harming people. After all, most Ruolang are stiff and cannot bend down.

There is such a saying in the local area that there are five ways for Ruolang to rise from the corpse, namely skin, flesh, blood, bone, and mole, which are the five reasons for the rise of corpses. As long as the corresponding ones are broken, it will be fine.

For example, blood rises because of blood. Only by trying to release Ruolang's blood, it will naturally stop. The other types are also the same. The most difficult to deal with is the rise of moles. You have to find which mole caused it. If you have that effort, you might as well find a way to trap it and burn it.

What's even more bizarre is that even Buddhist monks with great cultivation cannot avoid it.

It is said that after the abbot of a large temple passed away, the monks placed the abbot's body in the scripture hall and began to chant scriptures day and night to pray for his soul to be reborn. They chanted scriptures for three days and three nights in a row. On the third night, the monks fell asleep due to overwork. Only one young monk did not fall asleep because of fear. He stared at the abbot's body.

In the second half of the night, the young monk was a little sleepy. When his eyes were half open and half closed, he suddenly found that the abbot's body actually sat up, slowly stood up and raised his hands. There was no life in his eyes. It was obvious that the corpse had risen.

The young monk was so scared that his soul was gone, and he was afraid of attracting the attention of the weak man, so he did not wake up other monks, locked the temple door, and ran out alone.

In the end, hundreds of monks in the whole temple became weak men overnight. Fortunately, the temple door was locked, and the weak men could only wander around in the temple and could not go out to cause trouble.

Later, Nalanda Temple sent a high monk, holding a magic instrument, wearing a cassock, chanting a mantra, opening the temple door, and performing magic alone at the door, leading the weak men all the way to the river. The hermit walked onto the wooden bridge, took off his cassock and threw it into the river. The weak men followed the cassock and jumped into the river, never to be seen again.

The Buddhist sect must know the reason for this, but it is very secretive.

Because the Taoist sect was not involved in the past and has not been in the Western Regions for a long time, it has not studied deeply, and only has some rough speculations.

The mainstream view within the Taoist sect is that the Buddhist sect has committed sins and issued Buddhist debts indiscriminately, which has led to the collapse of incense and vows.

?????55.?????

The so-called Buddhist debt, the Taoist ancestor has long commented that the Buddhist sect has neither a view of the universe nor a view of the world, and can only brag.

The promises made by the Buddhist sect to believers have always been empty and boundless.

For example, according to the Buddhist sect, turning the prayer wheel and chanting scriptures will have merit.

Turning it once is equivalent to reciting the Tripitaka once.

Turning it twice is equivalent to reciting all Buddhist sutras.

Turning it three times can eliminate all obstacles of body, speech, mind and sin.

If you turn it ten times, you can eliminate the sins and obstacles like the king of Mount Sumeru.

The merits of those who rotate a hundred times will be equal to that of King Yama.

By rotating it a thousand times, both oneself and others will be able to attain the Dharmakaya.

By rotating it ten thousand times, all living beings can be liberated.

After rotating for a hundred thousand times, you can reach as far as the sea of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva meeting the saints.

By rotating it a million times, all sentient beings in the six-path wheel can achieve peace and happiness.

By rotating it thousands of times, all sentient beings in the six realms of reincarnation can be lifted out of the sea of suffering.

The merits of those who rotate hundreds of millions of times are equal to those of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.

In other words, after committing a sin like that of the King of Mount Sumeru, turning the prayer wheel ten times will cancel it out. In one hundred weeks, you can become the emperor of the underworld, in one thousand weeks, you can become an immortal, and in ten thousand weeks, you can turn the human world into the ideal world of great harmony in Confucianism. If it takes ten million weeks, not only will the human world be purified, but even hell will be transcended. .

God knows why Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva didn't become a Buddha. He just had to reincarnate thousands of times.

It is also said that the materials of rosary beads are different, and the merits obtained when reciting and practicing are very different. What about two times the core, five times the red copper, ten times the pearl and coral, ten thousand times the lotus seed, ten thousand times the diamond seed, and countless bodhi seeds? Is it possible for everyone? Can you enter the world of great harmony by pinching the Bodhi seed with your hand?

Such a promise, not to mention cutting the meat to feed the eagle, even if all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats fed it, it would not be able to repay it.

To put it more exaggeratedly, if Buddhism brings in Taoism, Confucianism, and the Holy Court, it still cannot compensate.

What's this? This is an unfounded business that deceives believers into thinking they are fools just for the sake of incense and power.

If everyone believes in Buddhism, everyone seeks the next life, and there is no enterprising spirit. If everyone goes to chant sutras and create merit and does not do anything to produce, what difference does it make if they are like cattle and sheep waiting to be slaughtered?

Buddhism has made great aspirations. It is no exaggeration to say that Buddhism’s annual income cannot repay the interest on Buddhist debts.

Those who believed in Buddhist promises but have not been able to fulfill them, how can they not feel resentful?

Coupled with the existence of slavery, can we avoid being hungry and cold?

This corresponds to someone who died of hunger and cold, evil thoughts and resentment during his lifetime. It can also explain why some monks also turn into weaklings. Because monks are also victims of Buddhist debt, no eggs will be left intact after the nest is overturned.

When Xidao Sect invaded the Western Regions, the Lord Buddha had not yet been born, and Buddhism was still in disarray. It was no match for Xidao Sect, and was defeated steadily by Xidao Sect.

But even so, Xidaomen did not occupy the Western Region in an attempt to make a comeback. Instead, it continued westward without looking back. In the next hundred years, it traveled to various places before finally settling on the Southern Continent.

Why?

It's just that after Xidaomen learned about the situation, they knew that they had no ability to take over. They all said that Yin eats Mao Liang. Buddhism has eaten this food for ninety years. Whoever takes over will die. Anyway, I won't take over.

It wasn't until Xuansheng integrated the Taoist sect that he regained the Western Region.

The Taoist sect does not dare to admit this account. Whoever made the promise to you, you go to, the Taoist sect will not admit it.

The Taoist sect has neither received your incense wishes nor made any promises to you.

Naturally, Buddhism cannot fulfill its promise, so weak men are everywhere.

As early as the time when Buddhism and Taoism merged, Taoism was influenced by Buddhism and became decadent. It began to talk about magical powers, made all kinds of nonsense, created many gods out of thin air, and abandoned the view of the universe and concepts of Taishang Taozu. There is chaos, the doctrines are nonsense, and Confucianism is beating them up in terms of running the world, benefiting the people, and governing the country. There is no trace of the magnanimity of Huang Lao when he was in power, and he is essentially reduced to the bottom of the three religions.

As a result, the Taoist sect was divided into two factions. One faction relied on the inner and outer elixirs to please the powerful, relied on the court, and took the upper-level route. One faction returned to Huang Tiandang's old line of work, developed towards the bottom, began to accumulate strength, and prepared for rebellion. In the end, the rebel faction naturally won, and won a great victory. Taipingdao, which had disappeared for thousands of years, rose again, but the great sage became the national master.

After Xuansheng integrated the Taoist sect, he set things right and abandoned the theories about strange powers and chaotic gods that were developed from the sect. He reaffirmed the Five Thousand Words of Taishang Taozu as the foundation and worshiped Taishang Taozu as his veneration. In addition to being the incarnation of Taishang Taozu, The founders of the Three Qing dynasties and the real ancestors such as the Sanguan Emperor and Nanhua Daojun

In addition to being retained by the Master, many other immortals and Buddhas have been deliberately downplayed.

This move was to rectify the source and bring Taoism back on the right track. It advocated being down-to-earth and laid a solid foundation for the development of Taoism for more than two hundred years in the future.

However, the Buddhist sect insists on going its own way, still issuing Buddhist debts, preparing to gamble on the fate of Buddha, and striving to complete its achievements in one battle. As long as they win the Taoist sect, the world will be their own, and it does not matter whether they are in debt or not.

It was just a dispute between Buddhism and Taoism, and Buddhism was defeated. Just like most gamblers, in order to recoup their losses, they have no choice but to continue to borrow money, and eventually reach the edge of destruction.
