166. Disaster (1)

#166. Disaster (1)

Walking the path of nothingness is like navigating the vast ocean.

We don’t know if there is an end, when we will reach it, or if it is a place we can reach alive.

It is a journey with no set destination.

Leaving it is not easy, especially if the destination is dangerous.

But as always, with risk comes great reward.

The process of traversing the great sea called Mu (武) is accompanied by rewards such as a sense of accomplishment, strength, social status and fame, and money.

There are two ways to proceed through this ocean: following the routes discovered by our predecessors, or pioneering a new route yourself.

There is no way to say which method is better, because each person has different tendencies, different talents, and different abilities.

However, most of the outstanding ones fall into the latter category. Cheonmu Bong also chose to pioneer a new route.

Now I’m carving out my own path because I want to, but it wasn’t like that from the beginning.

Cheonmu Bong did not enter the martial arts world of his own volition or because he wanted to.

Martial arts was a choice for survival.

The reason he threw himself into the vast ocean with no end in sight was because he was ‘so hungry I thought I would die.’

Cheonmu Bong’s father was a fisherman, but one day he went out to sea and did not return. He learned martial arts to survive, and worked hard to improve his martial skills.

It was because the Gate Wave occurred when he had raised his skills to a certain level to fill his stomach. He was conscripted by the state and had to train himself to avoid becoming a meal for monsters.

Fortunately, Cheon Mu-bong had talent, and he was able to survive as Mu-wi grew. As his life became stable, he began to look back on martial arts.

If survival was his goal, he no longer needed to practice martial arts. But he continued on the path of martial arts.

This was because martial arts had become a part of his life. He had already entered the vast ocean and could not live a day without moving forward. He had no intention of leaving this ocean until he saw the end.

And it has come to this point now.

His endless curiosity and desire for improvement led him to further advancement.

Red, blue, green, black, light brown.

A total of five colored rings rose above Cheonmu Peak’s head.

Each color corresponded to the element: fire, water, wood, metal, and earth.

Cheonmu Bong closed his eyes and slowly continued his Un-gi-jo-sik. Above his head, five rings spread out horizontally to the ground, slowly rotating in a circle.

The five natural colors brightly illuminated the surroundings.

Srrrrrrrrrr——

The ring soon permeated Cheonmu Peak’s entire body.

It has reached the realm of Ogijowon (Five Energy Harmony).

Cheonmu Bong opened his eyes.

Although his body was still old, he was more energetic than ever.

His prime was not in the past, but in the present.

The transcendent being who had just reached the realm of the martial god became an immortal who had mastered the five elements.

A great spirit surrounded Cheonmu Peak, giving him vitality.

“… Okay, what’s going on?”

He looked at the being standing before him with eyes clearer than ever before.

A being who has walked the path of martial arts long before me.

The supreme warrior who holds the title of First.

Berget.

He was standing in front of Cheonmu Peak.

***

Berget killed most of the gods in the #132 universe. He also dealt with mortals who showed signs of reaching godhood. Nearly ten thousand gods died by his hands, and dozens of mortals died. That left only two gods.

It was Belzet and Cheonmu Bong who had just achieved the Transcendence. They had done everything as quickly as possible, so they had some time before the disaster struck.

He slowly went to Cheonmu Peak.

‘You’ve gained new strength.’

Five symbolic qi surrounded him.

Berget looked at it quietly, not out of consideration for him, but to satisfy his own knowledge.

Oh my god.

It is a state that has not been reached because it is different from the path that one pursues, but there have been many who have reached that state. It was quite difficult to destroy the attack by assimilating the power of nature into martial arts.

If the Cheonmu Peak’s Cheonwol (天越) was combined with that, a bizarre martial art would be born.

Of course, all these stories were about when he achieved a higher rank.

The ordinary transcendent Cheonmu Bong is no match for Berget. There was also this reason why he waited for him.

“… Okay, what’s going on?”

Cheonmu Bong, who had just finished his breakfast, looked at Berget and asked.

“Has Heron controlled the information? It seems the news hasn’t reached here.”

“… I have no idea what you are talking about. When you say Heron, are you talking about the goddess who came with you?”

“Okay. Anyway… Let me briefly explain what I’m doing now.

Berget opened his mouth while looking at Cheonmu Peak with an indifferent expression.

“I am killing gods now.”

“Killing the gods? What does that mean…?”

“I have killed most of the gods in this universe, and now only you and I are left.”

Cheonmu Bong kept his mouth shut for a while and then opened it.

“…Why?”

“Weakening the catastrophe. The end of the Earth means the end of this universe. And if we fail to prevent the catastrophe, the Earth will most likely meet its end. In that sense… we need to weaken the catastrophe in advance.”

“Does killing the god have anything to do with it?”

“Of course. Because disaster is something.”

“… So you’re going to kill everyone to get rid of the disaster?”

“No, it won’t disappear. It will change in a different way. However, the disaster will be weakened by the causality that has already been executed. Because change consumes a considerable amount of causality.”

“I guess this is a fact that was discovered through the assistance of a transcendent being with the power of prophecy.”

“okay.”

“Is there no other way?”

“I don’t know if there is any, but I haven’t looked for it. I don’t think there is any.”

“Then I have no intention of just dying.”

Cheonmu Bong looked at Berget with a determined expression.

The fight was unavoidable. The only silver lining was that it had reached a new level of mastery.

And the unfortunate thing is that even though he has reached new heights, Berget’s power is still unfathomable.

‘You have to hit first.’

Cheonmu Bong struck first before Berget, who was leisurely looking at him, could change his attitude. If he didn’t attack first, he had no chance of winning.

Cheonwol twisted space through his magic and pulled in and compressed all the energy within a 10km radius. The condensed energy of nature was inhabited by Cheonmu Bong’s body, emitting a multi-colored light.

Due to this, Cheonmu Bong temporarily gained physical abilities comparable to those of a transcendent being who had achieved a higher rank.

The bowl was making a lot of noise as if it would break at any moment because it was filled with water, but Cheonmu Bong used his incredible concentration to control the inside of his body.

All of this happened in a split second.

Cheonmu Bong swung a punch at the space that was shattered while gathering Hoyeonjigi.

Kwaaa …

The heavens and the earth shook, and Berget’s cervical vertebrae were crushed, sending his form flying far away. Kwakwang, kwakwakwakwakwak! Berget’s body crashed into the mountain, piercing through the mountain and sinking deep underground.

‘I couldn’t kill him.’

Although he had a clean touch, Cheonmu Bong realized that he was unable to kill Berget with one blow.

And that was the moment I realized it.

“You’re quite talented. It’s a shame to kill you.”

“… … .”

“Is there any way to save you?”

Cheonmu Bong stuck out his tongue as he looked at Berget, who had appeared before him without any injuries. He remained silent for a while before opening his mouth.

“I don’t know either.”

“Is that so? I guess so. There is no way to overcome the causality of the end.”

Berget continued speaking with a sigh of regret.

“It’s a shame, but I guess I’ll have to live with it. I’m not mortal, so there’s no need to be obsessed with fleeting relationships. Well, then… Goodbye, Cheonmu-bong. I’ll remember your name.”

As he said that, Berget tried to move his arm.

“If you don’t want to disappear, you’d better put that arm down, Berget.”

A cold voice came from behind Berget.

It was Cynthia who sensed the aftermath of the fight and came to find him without delay.
