Ye Tianxin took a long breath and turned to Ye Linlang.

"Mom, I'm ready."

She fully trusted her mother. She had full confidence in Ye Linlang's medical skills. Only Ye Linlang would put her heart and soul into treating her condition.

"All right then, Tianxin. I need you to trust me. No matter how hard the journey is, we're in this together. I'll be with you at every step."

Treating the X-Virus was not the same as treating a common cold.

The medicine Ye Linlang had developed to treat the X-Virus was also a virus in itself, but it could suppress the X-Virus in Ye Tianxin's body.

"Okay, mom."

When Li Qingcang entered the room, Ye Linlang was about to inject the newly-developed vaccine into Ye Tianxin's body.

Since it was still undergoing clinical trials, nobody knew the effects of the vaccine. Not even Ye Linlang knew how effective it would be.

If she wasn't the one who developed the vaccine, Ye Linlang wouldn't have asked Ye Tianxin if she wanted to try it.

"Tianxin."

Li Qingcang walked over to Ye Tianxin and put his hand around her shoulders. He watched as Ye Linlang injected a tube of unknown liquid directly into Ye Tianxin's arm.

"The vaccine that I have developed has already entered your body. Tianxin, I will have to closely monitor your health for the next 48 hours. Let me know immediately if you feel any sort of discomfort."

Ye Tianxin nodded.

"Okay then, I'll go into the laboratory first."

Ye Linlang was sure that Ye Tianxin was in good hands as long as Li Qingcang kept her company.

She then walked out of the observation room and stood outside.

For the next 48 hours, Ye Tianxin will be kept under close observation by various other staff members in the laboratory. She would be watched like an animal in a zoo.

However, Ye Tianxin was not bothered by such inconveniences. There was nothing she was more grateful for than being alive. Nothing else mattered as long as she could live.

Meanwhile, Li Qingcang was more nervous than Ye Tianxin. He asked Tianxin every other minute, "Tianxin, do you feel any discomfort?"

Ye Tianxin shook her head. "No."

The next minute, he would ask, "Do you feel giddy?"

Ye Tianxin would shake her head again. "No."

Then he would ask, "Do you feel nauseous?"

Ye Tianxin would reply, "No, I don't feel nauseous."

Li Qingcang's nervousness inevitably affected Ye Tianxin, as well as the staff waiting at the laboratory.

"Tianxin, if you feel any discomfort, tell me as soon as possible."

Ye Tianxin snuggled into Li Qingcang's arms and pouted playfully. "Qingcang, can you call Zhichen and ask him if he found Gungun?"

Li Qingcang looked up and cast a glance at Ye Linlang, who was standing outside the observation room. He didn't know if he was allowed to make any phone calls or talk to anyone outside of the observation room.

However, Ye Linlang nodded in approval. Li Qingcang then called Jing Zhichen from the observation room.

He put the phone in speaker mode so Ye Tianxin could also hear his conversation with Jing Zhichen. "Have you found Gungun?"

After a long pause, Jing Zhichen's voice sounded hoarse and exhausted as he said, "Not yet."

Gungun had once appeared from nowhere. Now, she had vanished without a trace. It was strange; it was as if she had never existed.

It was as if Gungun's appearance was all part of Jing Zhichen's imagination. Everything felt so surreal.

"What about Yiyan? Did he find anything?"
