[Comprehensive British and American Star Wars] Grow in rot
Chapter 15 The Force
After a while, Ben said, "You wouldn't really do that, would you?"
"You better not try," Zemo replied with his eyes closed.
He and Ben built a few sheds in the rented warehouse for the spaceship, which can be regarded as a place to live, and the conditions in this place can even be said to be good.He and Ben lived in two different sheds, but Ben, at his request, would never bring anyone back to spend the night, no matter how much he fucked up.
Zemo still hadn't connected to Kylo Ren that night, which made him wonder what the Force's motives were for doing so.
He could already feel Kai Luoren's attitude loosening three months ago, but then he never saw Kai Luo Ren again, obviously this is not the reason of Jakku, there are too many places where the original force is thinner than Jakku, Port Canro is one of them, but he's still connected to Kylo Ren.
He got up early the next day to practice his swordsmanship far away from people's gathering places. When he came back, he saw a thin figure crouching inside the engine of the spaceship in the warehouse, and Ben was being shouted and handed parts outside.
"Not this one!" One part was thrown out, and Ben immediately handed over another.
"Not this one either!" A girl's voice sounded very annoyed. "Are you really a pilot?"
"Oh, my five years of flying experience is despised by a little girl who hasn't touched a spaceship yet," Ben retorted.
"This little girl has been in more contact with the structure of the spaceship than you, Mr. Pilot." The girl poked her head out of the engine and bickered with Ben, and she saw Zemo immediately.
"Oh," she said, "hello, Mr. Zemo."
"Hello, Rey." Zemo laughed, then turned to look at Ben.
"I just asked her to help me repair the spaceship, renovate the spaceship and do odd jobs!" Ben immediately confessed his innocence, "Four rations a day including accommodation! I'll pay!"
"There is no such thing as accommodation, I have a place to live!" Rey glared at him.
"Where do you call that wreckage?"
"It's as if your broken shed could go anywhere!"
"Helmut! She says we live in a shack!" Ben complained.
"Do you really think I'm going to intervene in your bickering?" Zemo asked.
"But she's insulting our warm home!" Ben yells at him, before being hit in the head by a screw Rey drops.
"Oh!" He covered his head, "What are you doing?"
"Slippery." Rey smirked at him.
"Helmut! Someone hit me!"
Zemo pretended not to hear, passed the spaceship directly, and took out two glasses of water from the shed.
"Come out and rest for a while." He handed the water to Ben, and Rey also came out of the spaceship and took another glass of water.
"How old are you?" Zemo asked Rey.
"15 years old," Ray said.
"Oh, about the same age as Ben."
"About my age?" Ben's eyes widened. "I'm a 20-year-old adult, okay?"
"It makes no difference to me," Zemo said. "Where are your parents?"
Rey pursed his lips: "They left and went to other places."
"I see. So you've been living here all alone?"
"Yes." Rey drank the water in the glass, "I'm going to check the spaceship."
"I don't think she likes it being mentioned about her parents," Ben whispered, shrinking to Zemo's side.
"I know." Zemo said. "With such a powerful force talent, her parents should not be ordinary people. There must be a reason for abandoning her here."
"What?" Ben was surprised. "She has a powerful force talent?"
"Yes." Zemo said, "I can feel it."
"Why do I feel that everyone around me is gifted with the Force, and I am the only one who lives alone in a space where the Force cannot be detected." Ben said, "It's not fair, you understand."
"You can complain to the Force," Zemo replied.
"Then I have to feel it first like you." Ben retorted, and then he put down the water glass, "I'm going to see the spaceship. You can meditate first, and I will call you if there is something to do."
Rey was checking the wiring when Ben entered the ship.
"Is he your father or your brother?" Ray asked.
"What?" Ben was taken aback, "Does he look like my dad?"
"So he's your brother?"
"Why must he be my relative?"
Rey threw the wrench out and poked his head out from the bottom, "Then why do you have the same last name?"
"I don't have a last name, so I'll just use his. That's weird." Ben handed the tape to Ray.
"He doesn't seem very approachable," Rey's voice came from below, "he doesn't seem to have any expression."
"He is like this, he rarely has mood swings, and sometimes I wonder if he is pretending to be a robot." Ben said, crossing his legs, "But after getting along for a long time, you will find that he is still a very good person."
Ray didn't answer him.
Zemo sat in the corner of the warehouse. He felt everything in the world as before, the spread of the force, and the fibrillates whispered in his ears, which he couldn't understand.
"What is he doing?" Rey looked out the window of the spaceship.
"Meditation and so on." Ben said, "He pays more attention to inner cultivation."
"It looks weird," Rey said.
"Strange?" Ben also leaned towards the window, "You didn't feel anything—" He made an exaggerated gesture, "Is there a strange force around him, forming some kind of hellish vortex?"
"No," Ray frowned at Ben, "what's wrong with you?"
"It's nothing," said Ben. "I kind of wish I had a little problem like Helmut's."
In this way, Rey was hired by Ben at the price of four rations a day. In Zemo's view, Ben was more like paying himself to be Rey's underdog. However, Rey's technology and understanding of spaceships are indeed much higher than Zemo's.And she and Ben quarreled every day regardless of the preciousness of water in Jakku, which made the warehouse much more lively.
Finally on the third day, Rey sat beside Zemo as he meditated.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"Sense the Force," Zemo said, "understand it, be on good terms with it."
Rey froze, and opened his eyes wide.
"You can use the Force?" she asked.
"Yes, but not very proficient. That's why I'm working hard." Zemo opened his eyes and looked at her, "What about you? Can you feel anything?"
"I don't know how to use the Force." Rey said, "How can I feel anything?"
"Can you hold my hand?" Zemo asked, and Rey looked at him with a slight frown, and Zemo met her gaze. "You can just try it."
Zemo waited, and Rey, after hesitating, gave Zemo his hand slowly and suspiciously.
"You better not try," Zemo replied with his eyes closed.
