Just a Bit Unhealthy
Chapter 13: Returning to the original heart
England washed him off with a rain, but Jared smiled nonchalantly. It never occurred to him that he would miss this miserable rain in England so much.
The meeting with the Chelsea club manager was brief: he had been at the club for several years, they knew him well and believed he could resume his old career.Jared didn't expect to be able to do his old job, but it just so happened that the doctor who replaced him wanted to transfer to a top German football club at the end of the season, and Jared agreed to wait until the position became available. Before that, he will be in charge of the club's convalescent center.
After the meeting was over, Jared walked towards the training ground involuntarily. He hadn't expected the meeting to be at the Cobham Training Center, but now that it was here, Jared couldn't resist looking for Gabriel.Almost a month has passed.
The rain had stopped and the air was clear and damp.Jared took a deep breath and walked slowly towards the players training on the court.
Now he still can't believe that he actually did this... He really went back to England to continue his previous life.Maybe this decision was wrong, but he was really tired, he didn't want to struggle anymore, he didn't want to escape anymore, it was meaningless at all.
Jared's heartbeat suddenly accelerated because he saw the familiar dark golden curly hair.Gabriel has just passed two opposing defenders, lightning fast and unstoppable.Jared had almost forgotten how good he was.
As if feeling someone watching, Gabriel turned his head.He stopped in place, opened his eyes, and opened his mouth. Then a charming smile spread across his face, and Jared couldn't help but smile too.
Then Gabriel came running up to him, blue tracksuit stuck to him, and Jared tried not to look at him, but it was too difficult.Gabriel may be on the thinner side, but like most players, he's muscular without being too big.Hell, he was perfect from head to toe for Jared.
Gabriel threw himself into his arms, and Jared almost stopped. "You're back," he breathed against Jared's neck, hugging him tightly, "you're back."
Knowing that the coach and the other players were watching curiously, Jared allowed himself to brush Gabriel's hair -- just for a moment -- before stepping back and putting his hands back in his coat pockets. This movement is very simple, but it took him a lot of energy.
"Yes," he said finally, keeping his eyes on Gabriel's bright smile.
Gabriel took another step closer.Jared clenched the hand hidden in his pocket, warning him with his eyes.Get away from me a little bit.
Gabriel frowned, glanced at his teammates, and then at Jared. "When did you come? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Jared!" Another player trots up to them. It's Tristan Dewar. "You're back! I mean... you're back in the team?"
Jared smiled at him and shook his hand.He didn't quite agree with Gabriel's complaint that Tristan was possessed by a demon, after all Gabriel was not an angel himself.
"Yes," he said, "for the time being, I will be the senior physician at the Sanatorium. I will take over Dr. Boyle's job when she leaves for Munich in the summer."
"Great!" Tristan grinned as he stroked Jared's arm. "Everyone misses you, doctor."
"Dewar, Dewar—both Dewars, come right back!" the coach yelled.
"Yeah, go back to training now." Gabriel said while staring at his brother.
Tristan ignored him, still looking at Jared. "I'm so glad you're back, Jared," he said, taking his arm and giving him doggy eyes, watery eyes with a hint of temptation.
Jared was amused, this wasn't the first time Tristan had tried to tease him, and it wasn't the first time it had failed - he wanted to play himself to the applause, which Tristan used on everyone.
But sometimes he really wanted Tristan's charm to attract him.Truth be told, Tristan was far more handsome than Gabriel: his tousled brown hair was a work of art, set against those roving, sea-blue eyes with a soft, warm glow in his complexion.Just so handsome.Gays are supposed to hold back once they touch him, and Tristan isn't as straight as his brother.
Gabriel stepped between them, arms folded across his chest. "Go away and find someone else to play with."
Tristan raised an eyebrow, smiling a little, but took a step back. "See you later, Doc!" He returned to the court, his ass twisted a little too far.
"Are you thinking about his ass?"
Jared looked at Gabriel and saw that his mouth was curled up in a strange expression.
"Nice ass," Jared said, eyeing him.
Gabriel opened his mouth, looked unhappy, and looked away.
Jared chuckled lightly, revealing pampering in his laughter, "You are really the most unreasonable person in the world."
Gabriel kicked a rock away from his feet and whispered, "No way. I just don't get it, and you're staring at that bastard's ass when you say you love me."
Jared couldn't help laughing, and affection welled up in his heart.God, he missed Gabriel so much, his unreasonable brain circuits so much. "Then you want me to miss your ass?"
Gabriel blushed a little, but insisted on lifting his chin.Jared wanted to kiss him so badly.
"Dewar!" the coach yelled again.
Gabriel glanced back, then back to Jared with concern. "Have you found a place to live?"
Jared shook his head. "I'll probably stay in a hotel and find a nice house nearby."
Gabriel licked the corner of his mouth. "Stay with me."
"what?"
"Stay with me," said Gabriel more firmly.
"Then... what about your family?" Your son and his mother are also there.
A slight hesitation flashed in Gabriel's eyes, but it disappeared quickly, and Jared didn't know if he was just dazzled.
"It's a big house. Claire doesn't mind, really."
Jared knew he should say no, it was a terrible idea, he didn't want to see Gabriel with his partner and kids.
"Okay?" Gabriel's emerald green eyes were full of requests for him.
Still defying reason, Jared said, "Just a few days until I find a place to live."
Gabriel smiled at him. "OK."
"Dewar, I swear..."
"Coming!" Gabriel yelled, then turned and touched Jared's chest. "I have to go, but the training camp will be over soon. Wait for me?" He smiled slightly at Jared, who felt warm inside and almost laughed at himself.God, he is so pathetic, he is eaten to death by the other party.
"I'll wait for you," Jared said.
