Chapter 13 Dobby's Freedom

When Draco was going to have breakfast, he happened to see McLaggen standing at the door of the auditorium, talking loudly, and a few spectators scattered around him, and more passers-by looked sideways, as if they were hugging each other. A trace of wanting to watch the fun but a bit disdainful mentality.

"...That's not my fault! Facts have proved that my demonstrations are all right! If you do what I say, those Bludgers will not be so arrogant!" McLaggen blushed excitedly, and his voice became more and more higher. "Maybe you think I'm not a good goalkeeper - I don't think so - but I'm a good captain!"

Draco walked all the way to the door blocked by McLaggen without squinting. The voice was restrained and proud as usual: "Get out of the way."

"I thought who it was, a Quidditch deserter." McLaggen turned and saw Draco, and immediately burst out laughing. "Hey, why did you quit the team? Are you afraid of being beaten?"

"Gryffindor has been reduced to you as the captain, and Quidditch is meaningless." Draco paused, then continued. "Although I don't know when the captain of Gryffindor became you. But now, you, get out of the way, I'm going to have breakfast."

"Are you laughing at me?" McLaggen blushed again.

"Sorry, I thought you couldn't tell with your IQ." Draco slapped dryly twice, and gracefully drew a circle in front of McLaggen's eyes with his right hand before putting it down. "Can I go now?"

McLaggen's eyes followed his hand around, then turned sideways, glazed-eyed, to let Draco pass.

McLaggen didn't wake up until Draco was far away, looking at the people around him whispering to him in a daze, someone kindly handed him a mirror, and he saw that his face should have a nose The place is impressively a pig nose with very large nostrils. He screamed and ran away quickly, leaving a circle of laughter around him.

Draco continued to walk all the way to the Slytherin table without looking away, sat down at the Slytherin table, and began to carefully cut the bread.

"I don't know when you will use the hypnotizing spell." Bryce on the opposite side seemed to say unintentionally. "Hogwarts doesn't seem to offer this class."

"Of course Hogwarts won't teach it. Durmstrang might." Draco said rather nonchalantly.

"You seem to know a lot of spells outside of textbooks recently." Bryce chose his words carefully. "It's not that it's bad, it's just—you know, although Slytherin doesn't look so gregarious, it's not the same as Durmstrang after all. There was only one Slytherin, the lord."

"Don't beat around the bush, I know what you mean." Draco took out a handkerchief and wiped his hands. "Anyway, you have to know how to use it. It doesn't matter if it's later or earlier. Besides, the classification of black magic was only artificially separated. Everyone knows that some black magic is really simple and easy to use."

Bryce ate a piece of cheese, and didn't seem to want to argue with him any longer: "Do you know who the object you just administered is?"

"I don't know." Draco continued to cut the bread calmly. "I don't want to know anyone in Gryffindor if I can."

"That's the famous McLaggen." Bryce smiled. "It's probably the most vocal member of the Gryffindor team now - of course, this is a vote from other houses."

"Oh, it's the goalkeeper who knocked the savior unconscious." Draco said suddenly. "Then the new nose suits him quite well—don't look at me, it's just the Transfiguration Charm, no violation."

"I thought you didn't know about the last game," Bryce said.

"Of course I'm not interested in ordinary games, but this wonderful game that can be used to laugh at the savior for 60 years, I'm only sorry that I wasn't there at the time." Draco said.

"Maybe it's presumptuous, but... that thing you've been doing, is it almost done?" Bryce asked after a moment of hesitation. "Crabbe is always, very...well, seems a bit disgruntled."

"I didn't know that Crabbe was getting his own way on things other than eating, which didn't help much," Draco said. "I wouldn't have picked him if there was a better fit. Everyone's starting to change and Crabbe seems to be learning to read. It's not a good thing for me."

"Anyway, be careful yourself." Bryce finished eating, stood up and bowed, and left.

It was past twelve o'clock in the morning. The big clock on the wall rang dully. The lights in the Slytherin lounge also dimmed automatically, as if to remind the students who hadn't slept yet to lie down on the bed immediately.

In fact, there was only one person left in the Slytherin lounge at this point in time.Draco was sitting on his usual sofa, a book of runes splayed on his lap.Draco found himself liking runes more and more. This kind of runes is quite difficult for most people to read. Even the perfect lady of Gryffindor needs to carry the words of the dictionary at all times. Once mastered, she can always read them. calm him down.

Between the lines of those ancient and mysterious words, there seems to be hidden secrets that need to be discovered by those who are eager to discover, but most people are discouraged because of reading difficulties.

"What a pity." Draco sighed, not sure if he was regretting the rune writing or something else.He raised his head, his gray eyes calmly turned around in the empty lounge, and finally settled on the chandelier on the roof. His tone was calm without any waves. "Dobby, come out."

There was a slight "poof" in the air, and a funny-dressed house-elf appeared across from Draco.

"Master..." Dobby bowed respectfully as if involuntarily, and then tightly covered his mouth, his big eyes were full of confusion.

"I know you're confused. You're a free elf—since you were set free by a little trick by Saint Potter in second year," Draco said with a half-smile. "So you must be very confused now, why you still have to follow my instructions, and you can't help but salute when you see me. If I guessed correctly, if you said something bad about me, I would probably use your words Twisted, wrinkled, filled with a sublime and autonomous head that is twice as big as your body, don't hesitate to hit the wall or anything you can reach."

"Mr. Potter said that Dobby is just used to it. Mr. Potter said that Dobby will change it, master." Dobby covered his mouth again, looking at his former little master in disbelief.

"Of course he would say that, he doesn't have house-elves after all." Draco wrinkled his nose. "To be honest, Dobby, I really don't know where all those weird ideas of yours come from, and I don't think it's uncommon for a Malfoy family to have a rebellious house-elf like you. Or any There won't be a house-elf like you in any pure-blood family. It's even a shame."

"Mr. Potter said that Dobby's thoughts are normal, master." Dobby covered his mouth firmly, but he couldn't help but say the word "master".

"It seems that you are working for Potter now." Draco looked down at the words on the book. "What did he tell you to do? Follow me?"

"Yes, master." Dobby's eyes widened, and he swore that he really didn't want to tell the truth, but he didn't know why...

"Using house-elves for this, it looks like Potter's poor brain didn't get thrown off the broom." Draco chuckled. "Then how are you going to reply to him?"

"Dobby...Dobby..." Dobby couldn't speak, and it realized with horror that maybe the content of its reply would be influenced by the former owner in front of it.

"It seems that it is better for me to solve your doubts first, Dobby." Draco rested his hand on his chin, his gray eyes were as calm as water. "My father handed me a sock, so the contract on you is broken.—But it's just broken, it doesn't disappear." Draco paused, looking at the panicked house-elf with satisfaction . "Perhaps you will remember that the sock did not belong to my father."

Dobby's eyes widened, as if they were about to fall out.

"To break the contract of the house elf, you need a piece of clothing from the master. But what you get is not the master's clothes." Draco's mouth slightly curled up. "So, Dobby, you have freedom, but not complete freedom. The only one who can give you freedom now is me."
