Chapter 23 Part 23

Chap.23

When Madam Pomfrey of the hospital wing saw Draco Malfoy of Slytherin College walking into the gate of the hospital wing with Viola Clearwater on her arm, the expression on her face was extremely complicated.

Bobby Pomfrey didn't want to care about the unhealthy gossip of the students in the school, but even so, as a therapist in the medical wing, those gossips would inevitably drift into Madam Pomfrey's ears.Just to mention two points, she knew what kind of education Draco Malfoy had received since he was a child, and she also knew that Viola Clearwater's parents were actually Muggles.

...It seems that the sun will probably come out from the west tomorrow. When she was helping Viola prepare the Bone Spirit, Madam Pomfrey couldn't help thinking secretly in her heart.

Viola had just entered the hospital wing when Madam Pomfrey immediately told her that her right foot was broken.

"There is no other way but to drink Bone Spirit, Miss Clearwater." Madam Pomfrey said flatly, "But next time, I hope you can pay attention to it, after all, the side effects of Bone Spirit can be serious. Not that pleasant."

After hearing this, Viola couldn't help feeling a little ashamed, so she nodded obediently without making a sound.

On the way from the bathroom to the medical wing, Viola and Draco didn't get along so happily either.

At the beginning, Draco did reluctantly agree to the ridiculous request of "carrying her to the gate of the medical wing", but when the two awkwardly stuck to each other and came to a place about 50 meters away from the gate of the medical wing, Draco asked Viola to get off his back as soon as possible with an imperative tone.

"I've done my best to you, Clearwater! It's a good thing no one saw me all the way!" he whispered. "I don't want Madam Pomfrey to see—see me like that!"

After hearing this, Viola couldn't help curling her lips.Isn't there a saying in this world called "a good man will do it to the end"?But why is Draco Malfoy unwilling to carry out his "good deeds" to the end?

But soon, Viola figured it out—after all, he was a Malfoy. She couldn't expect a Malfoy to be an out-and-out nice guy.

So, for the last 50 meters, Viola basically used a rabbit to jump over it!

While Viola was sitting quietly on the bed and waiting for Madam Pomfrey's potion, Draco stood in front of her all the time, folded his arms, and looked at her with a proud expression.

"Drink it." At this moment, Madam Pomfrey came out from the dispensing room and handed Viola a jar of potion in her hand, "After drinking it, you probably need to rest here for a few days. Don't worry, I will help you write a leave note to the professors."

After finishing speaking, she raised her head again, glanced at Draco meaningfully, and asked, "Mr. Malfoy, may I bother you... help Miss Clearwater to hand over the leave slip to the professor?"

Will he say yes?

While swallowing the bitter potion, Viola couldn't help but wonder in her heart.

After Draco thought for a while, he finally nodded, his signature "Malfoy smile" on his face. "Of course, ma'am," he replied politely.

At that moment, Viola even had an illusion—as if Draco Malfoy was really a genuine gentleman!

After leaving the medical wing, Draco didn't go straight back to the classroom to attend class, but wandered alone in the corridor for a long time.

Until Pansy Parkinson found him.

"Draco!" Pansy's face showed a look of extreme anxiety, and his long black hair became a little messy because of his fast running, "Where did you go? Why can't I find it anywhere?" You... no one saw you, I thought—I thought something happened to you."

Facing Pansy's enthusiasm and anxiety, Draco only bent the corner of his mouth very coldly.

"I'm fine, Pansy," he whispered.

Pansy immediately noticed the coldness in Draco's tone, she raised her head to look into Draco's silver gray eyes in bewilderment, trying to find the answer in it.

But after a long time, not only did Panxi not get the answer she wanted, but she just made her heart become more flustered.

"What's going on, Draco?" she asked, blinking and trying to be as gentle as possible, "You can tell me, Draco. I'm supposed to be the closest person you have at school...isn't it What happened to your father? Or—what happened to 'that man'? You can tell me, Draco, I'd like to share your troubles for you!"

Draco lowered his head slightly, looking at his nominal girlfriend calmly.

He had a strange feeling that in his eyes, all of Pansy's unease and pain—he didn't feel it at all.Even if all these emotions of hers were actually caused by him.

When he was young, his father told him that he would only be able to marry a pure-blooded girl as his wife in the future, because the Malfoy family has been pure-blooded for generations, and Lucius would never allow the pure-blooded Malfoy family to marry him. Bloodline ruined in Draco's hands.

So Draco has drawn a clear line for himself since the first grade - he will never let himself have too much intersection with girls who are not pure blood.

And in his third grade, Pansy broke into his world.

Pansy met all the requirements in Lucius' heart for Draco's future wife. She came from a noble pure-blood family and was a full-fledged Slytherin.More importantly, Draco could see Pansy's loyalty to him.

Boys always have some vanity that comes naturally, and Draco himself was no exception.

When Pan Xi pursued himself boldly and enthusiastically, his vanity was indeed greatly satisfied, and because of this, he did not reject Pan Xi in the end.

But... does he really like Pansy?

Is there really "love" between them?

Thinking of this, Draco couldn't help feeling that his thoughts were ridiculous, but he couldn't stop them from coming out of his heart.

If he had asked his father that question, Lucius might have answered him with a rhetorical question, "Does it matter?"

...does it matter?

Perhaps in Lucius Malfoy's eyes, it didn't matter at all. When all you need is a wife who will produce a pure-blood heir for you, it doesn't matter if there is love or not.

But Draco thought he wanted much more than that.

He sighed softly, then raised his head and looked straight into Pansy's dark brown eyes, but Pansy seemed a little flustered by his sudden action.

"Pansy." Draco heard himself say coldly, "I have to tell you something now."

"What?" Pansy asked in a trembling voice.

Draco suddenly smiled.Pansy knew that whenever Draco was trying to play a prank, he would always put on this smile—the corners of his mouth curled up slyly, and his silver-gray eyes looked away unconsciously at the same time.

Finally, he said—

"let's break up."
