The person who wears fast takes tea and cools

Chapter 59: 1 Chuan Xiuzhu Snow Frost Cold

After nightfall on the streets of the town, beggars often emerge from the dark, damp and smelly streets and alleys.

Especially festivals like today's Mid-Autumn Festival have popped up.

There was a disabled beggar, Yan Shisan, who had seen him many times in the town. He was told that he was a veteran. He was injured many years ago due to the war, and his legs had not been healed in time, so he was useless. He was sent back to his hometown, but because he couldn't do anything, he was kicked out by his family, and he gradually became a beggar on the street.

His legs were broken at the root, and he walked with palms wrapped in thick straw.

He supported it with both hands, and his body jumped into the air, and then his body fell to the place one foot in front of him. He touched the ground with his broken leg, stumbled, and then pushed forward with his hands.

When he walks, he will almost startle the whole town.

Because he tied a broken wooden basin to the place where his legs were broken, and the wooden basin was tied to his broken leg, and his whole body was trapped in that wooden basin.

So as soon as he "walked", the wooden basin brought his whole body weight and hit the ground with a thud, as if to remind passers-by not to forget to give him alms and put money in his wooden basin.

And that tub was also where he slept.

Most people would sigh in amazement when they heard the sound of the thumping wooden basin, and when they bent over to see his figure rising and faltering from time to time.

However, most of the people just sighed and walked past without seeing anything.Only very, very few people, with compassion, gave him very little alms.

The indifference and heartlessness of the people was as startling as the sound of his tub.

However, if you look carefully at the corner of this street, you will know that no matter how miserable the shape is, the people here are used to it.

A bluestone street, in the corner, there are many handicapped and handicapped people selling some bamboo gadgets, a blind old man playing the erhu with an oil lamp, and a little girl crawling around on the ground with one leg dragging ...These scenes made the people in this gentle water town get used to suffering, and gradually covered a corner of indifference with compassion.

And this legless man is just one of the beggars in distress here, and will not attract special attention, so his wooden basin is often empty.

In order to attract people's attention, he sometimes walks back and forth quickly on purpose, with a pause and a pause... Most of the time, he is coiled on the side of the street, and he can hear the dull and heavy sound of the wooden basin hitting the ground. What a sad longing in his heart.

He often wears a gray and black bamboo hat, the bamboo strips on the edge have been turned out, and there are a few stalks of grass mixed with it, which looks very good for him.

Yan Shisan stood and looked down, but couldn't see the expression on his face. All he could see was the dilapidated bamboo hat and his messy long hair that hadn't been washed for a long time.

Mister "! Mister!" A childish voice sounded.

"Chang'an? Yuan'er?" Yan Shisan followed the prestige, and Qian Yuan'er was holding Cheng Chang'an's hand and running towards him and Qin Shangsu, with the male lead Liang Xiuzhu behind them.

As soon as he saw them, the corners of Qin Shangsu's uncurved lips suddenly flattened, and his face became darker than before.

"Mr. Yuhu!" Qian Yuan'er pulled Cheng Changan directly into Yan Shisan's arms, and with the other hand grabbed Yan Shisan's belt, happily handing the things in her and Cheng Chang'an's hands to Yan Shisan Thirteen looked, "Does it look good? This is the swallow lantern that Chang'an and I got from guessing lantern riddles! It's a couple!"

"It looks good." Yan Shisan lovingly touched the two children's heads, and asked, "Did you have fun today?"

"En!" The two children, one cheerful and the other shy, both looked red and sweaty. You can see how much fun you are having.

"Sir." Liang Xiuzhu walked over holding a carp lantern.

"Xiuzhu. Are you happy today?" Yan Shisan took some of Liang Xiuzhu's things, glanced at Liang Xiuzhu's pocket embroidered with plum blossoms, and joked with a smile: "It should be a happy person. Otherwise, this Where did the sachet come from?"

"Sir! This sachet, this sachet is a gift from a girl surnamed Lin." Liang Xiuzhu explained with a blushing face: "Yes, it was the girl who forced it to Xiuzhu! She also asked the students not to lose it, so she put it on. caught."

Yan Shisan smiled without saying a word, patted Liang Xiuzhu's shoulder, and smiled deeply.

He said, "Let's go. Let's set off the lanterns together."

When passing by the man with disabled legs, Yan Shisan couldn't help leaning down and put some money in the floating wooden basin. The man without legs stopped, and Cheng Changan suddenly pulled Yan Shisan by his clothes. Sleeve, said: "Sir, this uncle without feet smiled, and said thank you to you!"

Only then did Yan Shisan realize that Cheng Changan was standing as tall as a man without legs, presumably he saw his expression.Hearing Cheng Changan's words, the legless man raised his head to look at him.

It was only then that Yan Shisan could see his face clearly. The short, square face with Chinese characters, the skin was rough and dark, soaked in wind and frost, thick and stiff, and he probably hadn't smiled for a long time.

His eyes met those of Yan Shisan, and Yan Shisan also saw the pair of eyes that had been hidden in the night, with a peaceful and warm light emitting from them, like a faint but firm oil lamp, This indifferent and dark world is stubbornly lit.It also seemed to be thanking Yan Shisan.

And Liang Xiuzhu, who saw the man, also found out all the copper plates on his body, and put them into the man's wooden basin without hesitation, not alms and pity, but squatting down, just like Yan Shisan , Equally handed over the money on the body to the other party in a respectful and pious manner.

Yan Shisan was not surprised why Liang Xiuzhu would do this. Liang Xiuzhu's grandfather was a Buddhist believer. Liang Xiuzhu had been influenced by his grandfather since he was a child, but he had the same ridiculous compassion as the original owner.

I don't know if it was the emotion left by the original owner or something else, but at that moment, Yan Shisan seemed to understand that person's mood.

This is the sourness intertwined with grief and tenderness. It's terribly sad.

Seeing the movements of Yan Shisan and Liang Xiuzhu, Qian Yuan'er tightly grabbed her purse, as if she had made some important decision, she closed her eyes, and put her small purse into the man's pocket with trembling arms. In the tub.

"Sent... here for you!" Qian Yuan'er put down her purse and pulled Cheng Changan to hide behind Yan Shisan. She was not reluctant to part with the money, but she was afraid of this begging man.

Because this man was dressed in sloppy and tattered clothes, he had no legs, and he was hiding in a wooden basin, wearing a broken bamboo hat, black and ugly.

Cheng Chang'an had no money, so he broke away from Qian Yuan'er's hand, and timidly came to the man, slowly stretched out his small hand, and hugged the man, "Have a healthy Mid-Autumn Festival."

Cheng Changan gave him a hug and a word of blessing.

Qin Yusu was indifferent, he stood behind Yan Shisan with his chest folded, and didn't look at the man, he thought they were a little too naive. You must know that there are quite a few people like this man in this town. They are a teacher, a lady from a farming family, how many students, how many can they help?

Then his aluminum pot rang again, toward the other end of the street, and my chest shook with his fumbling figure.

The man's bright eyes overflowed with crystal tears. He excitedly wrote something to Yan Shisan and his party, but because he couldn't make a sound, he covered his face and cried bitterly.

Cheng Changan and Liang Xiuzhu hurriedly comforted him, while Yan Shisan stood blankly by the side of the street, thinking that perhaps at a certain level, most people in the world are footless.

The Dharma that the original master had learned spewed out at this moment.

No matter at any time and any place, when you see someone you sympathize with and give to them, it is equivalent to sympathizing with yourself.

I sympathize with being born in this suffering world, and sympathize with all beings who cannot leave suffering.

If giving can make all living beings feel a little joy and warmth, no matter how much this giving is, it will have a moving quality, because the joy of all beings is one's own joy.

Therefore, in Buddhism, giving and making offerings are called "rejoicing".

Rejoice, there is an extraordinary beauty, not sympathy, not pity, but joy because all beings are happy. It's as if a gorgeous rainbow was born suddenly during the long rainy days. I don't know if those who see the rainbow in the rainy days will feel rejoicing.

Because we know that there is a rainbow, we should be grateful when giving, and should not be slighted.

Yan Shisan remembered the great and solemn layman Vimalakirti recorded in the scriptures.

At a moving party, someone offered him some exquisite necklaces, and he personally divided the necklaces into two parts, one was offered to the Buddha, and the other was given to the humblest beggar in the meeting.

Someone raised doubts, and Layman Vimalakirti said in a dignified voice:

"If the donor waits for the heart to give to the lowest beggar, it is like the appearance of the Tathagata's field of blessings, without any distinction, equal to great compassion, without seeking results, then it is called a gift of Dharma."

Layman Vimalakirti even warned people that all those who come to beg around people are the manifestations of Bodhisattvas who live in the realm of inconceivable liberation Bodhisattvas. Fall into the Super League.

If you donate to plant merit only because of begging, then the person who gives is only a beggar. If you see that the beggar is also a Bodhisattva, and you can get out of the lost ferry if you give kindness.

He left, and the thumping of the tub slowly rang from here to the other side of the street.

Yan Shisan took Cheng Chang'an's hand, and suddenly told them: "Shangsu, Xiuzhu, Chang'an, you must study hard in the future!"

Qin Yansu sneered, he thought that Yan Shisan would also say like those family members who provided for the scholars - 'You must study hard, otherwise you will become such a person' and so on to make them study hard .

But I never thought that Yan Shisan said this——

"Only in this way can you display your talents and become a master. Let the people live a good life. Then let these people have a shelter from the wind and rain in the future, and they can also have food and clothing."

It was completely different from what Qin Yansu had heard before.

He asked them to study hard, not to make him look good, nor did he think what they could bring him, just as he said to him at the beginning, he just hoped that their talents would not be wasted.

I just hope that they can become masters, and then benefit the common people, so that these poor beggars have housing, clothing, and food.

Cheng Chang'an nodded ignorantly, he was young, he just wanted to become a talent after studying, and he came back to glorify his ancestors after taking the exam and let his mother live a good life. But Yan Shisan is his wife and will never deceive him. Therefore, although he couldn't understand the deep meaning of Yan Shisan's words, he still kept them firmly in his heart.

It was also many years later that the good talk of "Cheng Chang'an, the imperial historian, has two sleeves and a breeze" has been passed down through the ages.

And Liang Xiuzhu also wrote down these words, he has experienced more than Cheng Chang'an, he naturally understands that Yan Shisan hopes that in the future they will not take bribes, not exploit the people, and become a good official who pleads for the people.

This is the original owner's expectation for them, and it is also Yan Shisan's expectation for them.
