Chapter 122 Exam

After the game, the weather was very good, but they didn't have the energy to enjoy it, because the exam was coming soon.

The Slytherins seemed to have collectively forgotten overnight that they had just lost the Quidditch trophy, to Gryffindor. The lounge was quiet, even Malfoy would not speak arrogantly, and he would look angrily at any junior student who dared to make a sound.

As for Gryffindor, they sometimes talk about trophies, but the Slytherins ignore them. After coming down a few times, they also felt that it was boring.

Exam week began in early May, and there was an uncharacteristic silence in the castle. The third graders came out of Transfiguration class at lunch on Monday, all disheveled and sluggish to walk, comparing their grades and bemoaning the difficulty of the tasks they were given, which included turning a teapot into a turtle.Hermione fussed that the turtle she made looked like a turtle, and others were content with that, so her whining was irritating. "The tail of the turtle I turned into is still the spout of the teapot, which is terrible."

But it was Jacqueline who was really irritating. "I think I still have a teapot on my turtle's back," she said to Pansy. "I hope Professor McGonagall thinks there are black and white turtles."

It was still Pansy's white eyes that answered her.

Then, everyone hurriedly ate lunch and went straight upstairs to take the Charms exam.Hermione was right last time, Professor Flitwick did test them on happiness spells.Harry had gone a little too far in calming the nerves, and Ron, his partner, had a final bout of hysterical laughter, and they had to take him to a quiet room for an hour until he could cast the happy spell himself until. After dinner, the students hurried back to the common room, not to relax, but to review the protection of magical creatures, potions and astronomy.

The next morning, Hagrid presided over the protection of magical creatures exam, but he looked so preoccupied that he didn't seem to be thinking about the exam at all.He brought the class a large bucket of fresh Flobberworms and told them that their Flobberworms had to be alive an hour later in order to pass the test.Flobber caterpillars reproduce extremely rapidly if left unattended, so this is the easiest test they have ever had.

They tested potions that afternoon, and it was definitely a disaster, or happiness, for Jacqueline.Having learned the lessons from the first grade, Jacquelin honestly made her potion step by step according to the requirements, and this did not prevent her from being the first to leave the classroom. When Snape finished his deadpan inspection of her cauldron, he nodded to her, which, she sincerely hoped, meant an excellence.

For the astronomy test at midnight, everyone went to the highest floor.

The History of Magic exam was on Wednesday morning, and while Jacquelin was writing down all the witch hunts in the Middle Ages on the exam paper, she hoped that she had not recited the wrong time, otherwise Graham's ancestors might be angry and come back to life.

Herbal medicine test on Wednesday afternoon, you have to stay in the conservatory under the scorching sun; when you return to the common room, the back of your neck is sunburned, and you are looking forward to the next day, when the test will be held. It's all over.

Thursday morning Defense Against the Dark Arts, their penultimate exam. The test that Professor Lupine had devised was one that none of them had ever taken, and it was the most unusual: it was a kind of obstacle course outdoors, in the sun, in which the students had to wade across a field with Grindy Lo's pond, traversing a series of potholes filled with red hats, creaking across a swamp, ignoring false directions from a Shinkpunk, and crawling into an old box and a new bog Gert fights.

It was difficult, very difficult, and Jacquilin, like Hermione, was invulnerable until he reached the box with the boggart in it.

After Hermione stayed in the box for about a minute, she rushed out screaming.

"Hermione!" said Lupine, startled. "What's wrong?"

"Mc, Professor McGonagall!" gasped Hermione.Pointing to the box, "She, she said I failed all the exams!"

But at least Hermione got out of the box, and Lupine ended up having to lift Jacqueline out of the box on his knees, sweating.

After drinking a cup of warm chocolate, she was able to control herself again. She and Pansy returned to the castle. The sight made them stop.

Cornelius Fudge, sweating a little in his pinstriped cloak, was staring out at the field.Seeing Harry, he also stared. "Harry, hello!" he said, "I just finished the exam, isn't it almost over?"

"Yes," said Harry.

Hermione and Ron, who hadn't spoken to the Minister of Magic, paced back and forth awkwardly.

"It's a lovely day," said Fudge, looking down on the lake. "It's a pity . . . a pity . . . "

He sighed deeply, looking down at Harry.

"I've come here on an unpleasant mission, Harry. The Dangerous Creatures Committee demanded that a witness be present at the execution of a mad hippogriff. Just in time I needed to visit Hogwarts on Black's behalf." Ci, they invited me to participate."

"That means the appeal has been heard," interjected Ron, stepping forward. "No, no, the appeal is due this afternoon," said Fudge, looking at Ron curiously.

"Then you might not be a witness to the execution!" said Ron bravely. "The hippogriff might be all right!"

Before Fudge could answer, two wizards came out from the castle gate behind him.One was very old and seemed to be withering away before their eyes; the other was tall and well-proportioned, with a thin mustache.

They were representatives of the Dangerous Creatures Committee, for the very old wizard walked up to Jacqueline, squinted at Hagrid's cabin, and said in a weak voice, "Oh, hello, Una," and he snapped Patting Jacqueline on the shoulder, "It's been a long time since I saw you at Hogwarts, how are you? I don't like your blond hair, your black hair looks more beautiful."

"You're talking about my mother." Jacqueline bent slightly towards him, "She's fine, thank you for your concern."

"She's got kids." The old man squinted at Jacqueline. "You really look like your mother. It's been a long time, I'm too old. I can't do things like this anymore. Two o'clock. Yes No, Fudge?"

The man with the black mustache was fingering something in his belt; Jacqueline looked at his belt, where he was stroking the blade of a shiny ax with his thumb.Ron opened his mouth to say something, but Hermione poked him hard in the ribs and turned his head in the direction of the vestibule.

"Oh, Jacqueline." Fudge stopped when he was walking towards the gate of the castle, and looked at Jacqueline, "How did you do in the exam?"

"It's not very good." Jacqueline said with a deadpan expression.

Fudge wiped his head in embarrassment, "Your dad also likes that hippogriff very much." He looked at Jacqueline, and at this moment, Harry and the others turned around and looked at her together.

"How to deal with it is the Ministry of Magic's business, isn't it?" Jacqueline smiled and pulled Pansy towards the dining room.

"Why don't you speak for us?" Ron asked angrily, as they followed Jacqueline into the dining room for dinner. "Didn't you see them? They even have axes ready! It's not fair!"

"It's funny." Jacquelin looked at him. "I'm a Slytherin, you're a Gryffindor, why should I help you? Especially not long ago, you just beat us to win the Quidditch championship .”

After lunch, Jacqueline had two exams, one in Divination and one in Muggle Studies, at the same time.

Jacquilin thought for a while, and walked to the second floor with Hermione.

"If you choose to consider my plan now, there is still time." Before entering the examination room, Jacqueline said, "This may be your last chance to save Buckbeak."

"They won't kill Buckbeak this time, as long as Hagrid is sane and speaks properly for the case," said Hermione. But she also looked frustrated, and Jacquiline knew that Hermione didn't really believe what she said. "I don't need to save Buckbeak by dishonest means."

Jacqueline rolled his eyes and opened the classroom door.

"Sometimes," she whispered, "perhaps the easiest and most effective means are shady means."

After finishing the Muggle Studies exam, Jacquilin quickly ran to Yuna's office, where she turned back the time so that she could catch up with the divination. She went very early, or very late, and there was no one in front. It seemed that she was almost the last one.

"Jacqueline Graham," said the familiar indistinct voice overhead, and Jacqueline stood up, stretched his body, and climbed the silver staircase.

This tower room is hotter than ever. The curtains were drawn, a fire was burning in the fireplace, and the usual disgusting smell made Jacquiline frown as she made her way between the tables to Professor Trelawney. She sat there waiting for her, with a huge crystal ball in front of her.

"Hi, dear," she said softly, "look at this crystal ball, and now let me time you, and tell me what you see in it."

Jacquiline leaned over the crystal ball, looking as hard as she could, wondering why she didn't just drop the class like Hermione did.

"Well," Professor Trelawney asked punctually and considerately, "What did you see?"

The room was scorching with heat, and Jacquiline's nostrils were stinging from the puffs of scented smoke from the fire.

"A piece of parchment." Jacquelin thought of the steps her father had given her about the execution.

"What's written on it?" Professor Trelawney asked in a low voice. "Now, think about it..."

Jacqueline thought of Buckbeak immediately.

"It's the execution papers," she said firmly.

"Really?" Professor Trelawney whispered, writing something quickly on the parchment in her lap. "My boy, you may be seeing the aftermath of poor Hagrid's troubles with the Ministry of Magic! Look carefully at what these papers say"

Those committees first make sure that the animals are locked out without any possibility of escape.

This is followed by the reading of the official announcement on the execution.

"Official announcement of execution," said Jacqueline firmly.

That could be just a few minutes, maybe even less than 10 minutes. But there was no way to save Buckbeak at all, unless someone deliberately delayed Hagrid's knowledge, and he couldn't hide it at all.

"Are you sure?" Professor Trelawney urged her. "Are you sure. Can you read the writing, dear?"

However, Hagrid needed a signature, and the Executor. If you told Hagrid that this would allow him to stay with Buckbeak for a while, it would not be enough to add another minute or two here at most.

"Hagrid's signature!" said Jacqueline.

If Headmaster Dumbledore is willing to help, he knows that Hermione has a Time-Turner, if that's what saves Buckbeak.Hermione could take Harry, and Harry had a way of dealing with Buckbeak.

"Any crying Hagrids?"

"Yes!" Jacquelin said, wanting to leave this classroom and the stuffy heat more than ever, she needed to tell Hermione, this was the only way. "Buckbeak is dead," she said deadpan.

Professor Trelawney praised: "Well, my dear, I think we will stop here, very good, I think you have the potential to see the future."

Potential to be a liar, Jacquiline thought, taking leave of Professor Trelawney and walking quickly to the Gryffindor common room.

It was difficult, she didn't know where the Gryffindor common room was, and she didn't have much time. But luckily, she met the Weasley brothers, she told them she needed to find Hermione, and they happily took her to the Gryffindor common room. They had just arrived when Hermione pushed aside the portrait of the Fat Lady and came out.

"I'm looking for you." The two of them looked at each other and said in unison.

"I'm going to get Harry's Invisibility Cloak from the One-Eyed Witch Statue." Hermione said as she walked quickly outside, "You're right, Hagrid lost the case, and the execution will be executed at sunset," she said. Very calmly, "Harry and Ron and I are going, we have the invisibility cloak, if you have the means..."

"Before the execution, the committee must see Buckbeak tied up outside." Jacquilin ran after her, "If Buckbeak disappears after that, Hagrid is safe After that, they need to read the document and sign it, this is your best chance." Jacqueline said quickly.

"I'll try my best to slow down Hagrid." Hermione obviously understood what Jacqueline meant. "I can tell Hagrid to see if there is any problem with their files."

"You can't just tell Hagrid," Jacqueline swallowed, "he won't hide his emotions. And I think the headmaster will think of it, but you only have ten minutes at most. Take Harry, He can handle Buckbeak." As they approached the One-Eyed Witch statue, Jacquiline said faster and faster, "Don't let Ron know, the less people know, the better."

Hermione stared at Jacqueline with wide eyes, she seemed a little lost, and then she oh. "You're going with us, aren't you?"

"No." Jacquiline shook her head resolutely, "If Buckbeak leaves, Malfoy will be the first to suspect me. I must stay in the dean's office." She blinked as she spoke, "I'll also give him back the Time-Turner."

Hermione looked at Jacquelin, and hugged her without warning, "Did I tell you that you were cunning?"

"More than once. Trust your cat," Jacqueline whispered into Hermione's ear. "Beware of Scabbers and that dog."

They parted at the One-Eyed Witch, and when Jacqueline returned to the Slytherin lounge, Malfoy was happily performing Hagrid's appearance when he heard Buckbeak was sentenced to death.

"He deserves it!" laughed Malfoy. "Do you and your stupid friends still want to help? Jacqueline."

"I think Buckbeak made a mistake." Jacqueline sat on the Slytherin sofa and closed her eyes. "He should be punished."

"Glad." Malfoy sneered, "Your mind is finally back to normal."

"I've always been normal," Jacqueline opened her eyes and looked at him, "it's just that our two families have different philosophies, Malfoy."

The students who had finished their exams came back one by one, with iced pumpkin juice in their hands.Although they lost the Quidditch game, Slytherin's scores were much higher than those of other schools, most of which were thanks to Professor Snape's substantial deductions from Gryffindor last semester, and Harry's sneaky Slip to Hogsmeade village. Therefore, as long as they take care of themselves for the rest of the time, the Academy Cup will still be theirs.

When it was almost five o'clock, they went upstairs to dinner together, but after dinner, instead of going back to the Slytherin lounge, Jacqueline went into Snape's office.

"What's the matter? Miss Graham." Snape's tone was very blunt.

"I'm here to return the Time-Turner." Jacqueline pulled the item out of her pocket. "I won't need it again next semester."

"I'm glad you don't have straws in your head anymore," Snape said. "It's okay, just go out."

"I still want to ask," Jacqueline smiled slightly, "Professor, is there anything I can do? The moon looks very round today."

Snape looked up at her, and said after a long time, "Pharmaceutical preparations are in the fourth cabinet from the left."
