Chapter 179 Confused

Hermione wanted to say something more, but Harry's voice came from the podium. "I've never been near your office!"

"Don't lie to me," Snape said in a low voice, his unfathomable black eyes staring hard at Harry's. "African tree snake bark. Gillwort. Both of these are my personal possessions, I know who stole it."

Harry stared at Snape unflinchingly, determined not to blink or appear guilty. "I don't know what you're talking about," said Harry coldly.

"You weren't in your bed the night someone broke into my office!" hissed Snape. "That's no secret, Potter! Yes, Mad-Eye Moody was probably in your star club, too. But I won't tolerate your behavior any more! If you sneak into my office at midnight again, Potter, just wait and see!"

"Okay," said Harry calmly, looking down again to chop his ginger root, "I'll keep that in mind in case I ever feel like going there on a whim."

Snape's eyes twinkled. He put a hand inside his black robe. For a moment, Hermione was taken aback. She subconsciously held Jacqueline's hand holding the knife. She thought Snape was going to draw out his wand and cast a spell on Harry.Jacqueline looked at Hermione's hand, and it took her a long time to shake her off. Then they saw Snape take out a small crystal bottle, which contained a clear and transparent potion.Harry watched carefully.

"Do you know what this is, Potter?" said Snape, the hostile gleam in those eyes again.

"I don't know," said Harry, and this time he was telling the truth.

"This is Veritaserum, a potion that teaches you to tell the truth. It is extremely effective. Just three drops can make you reveal the secrets deep in your heart and make all the students listen." Snape said viciously, " Of course, the Ministry of Magic has very strict regulations on the use of this potion. But you must be very careful, or I will miss it," he shook the crystal bottle slightly "and poured it into your dinner pumpkin juice. Then, Potter...then we'll find out if you've been in my office."

Harry didn't speak. He turned to his ginger roots again, took the knife, and began cutting them into pieces again.

At this time, someone outside the classroom knocked on the door.

"Come in," Snape said in his usual voice.

The door opened, and the whole class turned to look.Professor Karkaroff came in, and everyone watched him walking towards Snape's podium. He rolled his goatee with his fingers, looking restless.

"We need to talk," Karkaroff said abruptly as soon as he approached Snape. He seemed determined not to let anyone hear what he said, so his lips barely moved, as if he were a pretty lame ventriloquist.Harry stared at Jiang Gen, and listened carefully.

"I'll talk to you after class, Karkaroff," Snape whispered, but Karkaroff cut him off.

"I want to talk now, while you can't slip away, Severus. You've been avoiding me."

"We'll talk after class," Snape said sternly.

Jacqueline looked over, Karkaroff looked panicked, Snape looked angry.

Jacqueline subconsciously looked at Karkaroff's left arm. Karkaroff seemed to sense her sight and grabbed his arm.

"What's on his arm?" Hermione moved closer to Jacqueline.

"The Dark Mark," Jacqueline looked at Karkaroff's arm, with a sneer on the corner of her mouth, "it was carved by that person himself." Then she turned her head and glanced at Hermione who was about to stick to her body, "Stay away from me, know-it-all."

Karkaroff hovered behind Snape's lectern for the rest of those two sessions. He seemed determined not to let Snape slip away after class.

"Are you going to see Black tomorrow?" Jacqueline asked in a low voice when the other students were walking towards the door noisily at the end of get out of class.

Startled, Hermione looked at her nervously.

"If suddenly there is a big black dog near the school, someone will notice it." Jacqueline whispered, "Also, I saw Harry stealing food from the dining table."

"I..." Hermione tried to explain, but Jacqueline didn't give him the chance.

"There are a few cabins around Hogsmeade. If it's hungry, let it go to the Pig's Head."

"Jacqueline," Hermione looked at her with disbelief, "you, why did you help us?"

"Because he is a man, a know-it-all, and he comes from a pure-blood family. He shouldn't live on eating rats. We pure-blood wizards are not so cheap." Jacqueline glanced at Hermione, and walked straight to Si Leitlin's lounge.

This Hogsmeade Saturday Jacqueline did not go to Hogsmeade Village with Pansy and the others, she stayed alone in the Slytherin lounge, "I want to make up for what I left behind a while ago. she said to Pansy, although Pansy still thought that Jacqueline didn't want to see Hermione.Jacqueline didn't want to talk to her at all, and walked out with Professor McGonagall's notebook.

"I hope you can learn from this." When she walked into Yuna's classroom, Yuna was sitting there drinking tea and flipping through magazines. "Threats don't work for some people."

"I didn't expect her to be so stupid." Jacqueline said angrily. "I never thought there would be such a person without a head."

"Then how boring life would be like this." Yuna raised her eyebrows, "Have you ever thought about what you should do in the future?"

"I'll catch her." Jacqueline wrinkled her nose, "I won't lose face to my family."

"What about Miss Granger?" Yuna asked. "She's a victim too."

"She is the instigator." Jacqueline snorted. "If she manages herself well and clearly says no to Krum and stay away from Potter, even if Skeeter wants to make it up, there's nothing he can do about it."

"She doesn't need to change her life because of other people's nonsense." Yuna shook her head slightly regretfully, "Your emotions are still too easily influenced by others, Jacqueline."

Jacqueline screwed her jaw and said nothing.

"Use your own judgment at all times, Jacqueline. If you want to succeed."

"You look like you're expecting something." At dinner next Monday morning, Pansy looked at Jacqueline who had been staring out the school window, "Are you waiting for your owl?"

"That's right." Jacqueline frowned.Soon, the messenger owls flew in, and Jacqueline watched them eagerly, but without her Haig, Pansy received a "Daily Prophet".

"Don't look at me." Pansy shook her head at Jacqueline, "I guess you don't want to know everything from Malfoy."

"No." Jacqueline took the newspaper and quickly flipped through it.

"Are you looking for something?"

"It's nothing." Jacqueline shook her head and continued eating her breakfast.

"Ouch." Hermione called from the Gryffindor table, and everyone in the Great Hall stopped and looked up at her.Her hands seemed to have been splashed with something, and they were covered with thick, excruciating sores that looked like they were wearing thick, knobby gloves.

"Did someone send her something?" Pansy asked curiously as Hermione hurried out of the auditorium, clutching her hands.

"There are always some mindless trolls." Jacqueline absent-mindedly cut up her pickled fish. "There are also some encyclopedias that think too much about people."

Hermione's hand was probably stained with something serious, and when Jacqueline and Pansy went to Care of Magical Creatures class, Hermione didn't show up.

"Potter, did you have a falling out with your girlfriend? Why did she get so angry at breakfast?" Pansy sarcastically said as soon as she saw Harry, "Is it because you are jealous that Krum is better at flying in the air than you?" ?”

Harry ignored her.

"What did those little fans of yours send her?" Pansy didn't give up, and chased after her, "Did she get sent to the school infirmary?"

"It's all quiet," said Hagrid, slapping his big hand, and Pansy shot Harry a look and shut his mouth.

Hagrid had told them last class that they were done with unicorns, and now he was waiting for the students outside the hut, with some open cardboard boxes at their feet that they had never seen before. Many students became frightened. They thought it was a newly hatched snail. But when they got closer and looked into the box, they found that there were many fluffy black guys with long noses and flat front paws like shovels, which were very strange. They looked up and blinked at the class, seemingly bewildered by the attention.

"These are snuffers," said Hagrid and the rest of the students, gathered together, "you can usually see them in mines. They like shiny things... No, look."

A Niffler jumped up suddenly, trying to bite the watch off Pansy Parkinson's wrist.Pansy backed away screaming.

"Very useful little treasure hunters," said Hagrid cheerfully. "We'll have a lot of fun with them today. See that?" He pointed to the large piece of newly-turned land. "I buried a few A piece of gold coins. Whoever picks Xixiu digs the most gold coins, I will give a prize to whoever. You take off all valuables on your body, then pick a Xixiu, get ready, and let them go."

They each took one, and Jacqueline's one sniffed at the edge of her pant leg, and suddenly jumped up, trying to bite off the key ring hanging from her belt, but Jacqueline slapped it into the dirt inside.

"Wait a minute," said Hagrid, looking down into the box, "there's only one Niffle left here... who hasn't come? Why isn't Hermione here?"

"She's going to have to go to the hospital," said Ron.

"We'll explain it to you later," Harry whispered. He glanced at Jacqueline, Jacqueline looked at him expressionlessly, and Harry moved away from her subconsciously.

After Hagrid announced the start of the timer, they all released Niffler, and Niffler crawled in and out of the field, as if they were in water, and each hurried to the classmate who let them go side, spit gold coins into their hands.Ron gained a lot, and his lap was soon full of gold coins.

Jacqueline dropped hers on the ground and leaned against a nearby fence.

"Aren't you going?" Hagrid said to Jacqueline as he walked up and down the field. Her Niffler looked terrified and spit out the gold coins it dug up a few meters away from her.

Jacqueline folded her arms and looked Hagrid up and down. "How many Galleons do you have?" She sneered, "Enough for you to bury them in this field? Probably the leprechaun's gold coins, The kind that goes away in a few hours. Let me guess, won it from the Hog's Head? Or bought it for a few copper Knuts?"

"I only buried 100 gold coins," said Hagrid, blushing. "It was given to me by the Leprechauns when I went to drink with the Three Broomsticks last weekend... Oh, here you are, Hermione!"

Hermione came across the lawn towards them. Both of her hands were covered with thick bandages, which made her look pitiful.Jacqueline looked at her sharply. Then he snorted coldly, kicked the pile of gold coins on the ground, and walked to the other side of the field.

"Okay, let me see how you are doing!" Hagrid said, looking at the helpless Hermione. "Count your coins! It's no use trying to steal them, Goyle," he said, narrowing his bright black eyes. "It's leprechaun gold, and it's gone in a few hours."

Gore took out the gold coins in his pocket, with a sad face.In the end, Ron's Niffler came out on top, and Hagrid rewarded him with a chunk of Honeydukes chocolate. The lunch bell rang across the field and the other students started back to the castle, with Harry, Ron and Hermione staying behind to help Hagrid put the Niffler back into the cardboard box.

"Aren't you still mad at Granger for that article by Skeeter?" Pansy asked as Jacqueline and Pansy sat at the table for lunch. "I have to say something for her." , what do you want her to do? She can't run away when she sees Krum or Potter."

"I'm not angry with that know-it-all who only cares about flirting with flowers and doesn't think about the consequences." Jacqueline said while cutting the beef in front of her into small pieces. "Absolutely not."

"You know that's what you told me in first year, I'm not scared, not at all." Pansy imitated Jacqueline's voice and said, "And at the end? You passed out in front of Professor Snape , into the school infirmary."

"Then if I tell you that I want to kill Krum, Potter, and Skeeter now, won't you feel better?" Jacqueline asked sarcastically. At this time, Harry, Ron And Hermione walked into the Great Hall, and Ron was still talking about his Niffler.

"Oh, I thought Miss Granger was the one you wanted to kill the most?" Pansy said pretending to be serious.

Jacqueline glanced at her, stood up with her plate of evenly cut beef, and walked straight to the Gryffindor table.

"Well, we know what to get you for Christmas next year," said Hermione cheerfully as Jacqueline approached.Seeing that Ron was still sullen, she added, "Come on, Ron, it's not the worst. At least your fingers aren't covered in pus." Hermione was struggling with the knife and fork, covering her fingers Woke up, stiff and disobedient. "I hate that Skeeter woman!" she cried out suddenly and viciously. "Even if I have only my last breath left, I will make her pay!"

"When you are close to the two warriors in the Triwizard Cup, you should know the consequences, Encyclopedia." Jacqueline said coldly.

"That's all you Slytherins!" exclaimed Ron. "Look what you did to Hermione!"

"You mean," Jacqueline's eyes swept over Hermione's tightly wrapped fingers, "these are our masterpieces."

"If you came to see Hermione make a fool of myself." Harry said unhappily, "You succeeded, can you go back now?"

Jacqueline sneered, put the plate of beef in front of Hermione, turned around and left.

"What does she mean!" Ron was completely stunned.

"I think it's obvious." Hermione smiled happily, picked up the beef cubes with a fork, and brought them to her mouth, just one bite at a time. "Her knife skills are pretty good, right?" She said to the two boys proudly.

"Yeah." Ron said sullenly, "Who would have thought that Potions would have such an effect?"

"Don't ask me, don't comment." Jacqueline walked back to her seat, sat down, and started to eat dinner, "Because I don't know why I did this, I must be crazy. I'm out of my mind."

Pansy glanced at her, and swallowed the words that came to her lips along with a large bowl of soup.
