Chapter 83 Mandrakes

It was only three days before their first exam, and during breakfast, Professor McGonagall made another announcement.

"I have good news to tell everyone." She said, instead of becoming quiet, the auditorium became noisy.

"Dumbledore's coming back!" several people yelled happily.

"You've captured the Heir of Slytherin!" shrieked a girl at the Ravenclaw table.

"The Quidditch game has resumed!" Wood shouted excitedly.

When the uproar died down, Professor McGonagall said, "Professor Sprout told me that the mandrakes are finally ready to be harvested. Tonight we will be able to bring those petrified men back to life. I don't have to ask You point out that someone among them probably could have told us who, or what, attacked them. It is my sincere hope that this terrible year will end with us capturing the killer."

"I believe the first thing they said when they woke up was that Slytherin was a murderer!" someone yelled from the Gryffindor table. His words were greeted with applause from some.

"We are not murderers!" Jacqueline suddenly dropped the knife and fork in her hand, stood up and shouted, but her voice was drowned out by loud cheers.

"We are not murderers!" She trembled with anger and shouted in a louder voice. But no one paid her any attention, except the Slytherins. Some seniors came over and patted her on the shoulder, and walked out of the restaurant.

"Honestly," Pansy said, dragging her out of the dining room and walking with her back to their common room, thank goodness they didn't have classes today. "You should get used to this feeling."

"Get used to it!" Jacqueline tried to suppress his anger, "Why should I get used to other people's baseless accusations against us!"

"Maybe it's because we are Slytherins?" Pansy shrugged indifferently, and walked into the lounge, where many people, including Malfoy, were reviewing. "So, they think we do all kinds of evil."

"What's the difference between that and thinking that children from Muggle families shouldn't learn magic!" Jacqueline growled, throwing the schoolbag directly on the table and pulling out the textbooks from it.

Pansy shrugged, "I don't know."

Jacqueline snorted and opened her textbook.

But she couldn't read a word, every word in the book seemed to be mocking her, shouting at her, Slytherin, murderer.

"Enough!" She suddenly pushed the book forward and buried her face in her hands, "I can't read a single word."

"But our first exam will be in three days." Pansy said worriedly.

"It's all thanks to that nasty woman." Malfoy's pale voice came from behind them. "I should really tell my dad to fire her too."

"That's right," Jacquelin turned around suddenly, and stared at him fiercely, "You should tell your father to fire every teacher here, I think Hogwarts can probably close its doors Now, you can skip the exam too. Malfoy, you enjoy this feeling, don't you!"

"What's wrong with letting people be in awe of us?" he said aloud. "Don't you see? The whole school is afraid of us now!"

"They call us murderers, damn it, Malfoy! You go ask everyone here," Jacqueline pointed to the other students in the lounge, "how many people like to be called murderers for no reason?" guilty!"

Malfoy turned his head, he didn't need to speak, his eyes swept across the crowd, everyone lowered their heads silently, no one looked at him.

"When the truth comes out," he argued palely, "they will all know that we are not..."

"What about the expulsion of Professor Dumbledore and Hagrid? You think they won't hate us for this matter? Malfoy, Slytherin's reputation is already bad enough, why do you want to smear it again? it?"

"Maybe because," Malfoy put his feet up in the chair, "because Slytherin has never been a house known for justice and light. We are not born with them."

"But that doesn't mean we're born evil!" Jacqueline yelled, "No one is born with these damn titles!"

"Maybe," Malfoy shrugged, returning his attention to his textbooks, "that's why you guys are called Slytherin freaks. Unlike the Malfoys, though, Not many people know about the Grahams."

Jacqueline could only feel a puff of air gathering in her chest. She took a few deep breaths, pushed away the book in front of her, pulled a few pieces of parchment, wrote on it quickly, and shot back, "That's because our fame is not bought with money." of."

Malfoy snorted coldly and walked out.
