Chapter 93 Returning to the Ground

"I'll be expelled!" Ginny cried, as Harry helped her wobble to her feet. "I've been looking forward to going to Hogwarts since Bill, Now that I have to leave, what will Mom and Dad do, how should I say it?"

"She will be proud of you." Jacqueline leaned the silver sword on the ground, like a crutch, and wished she could hang on it. "Help us get rid of part of that man," she snorted. "Let the Slytherin students recite your name for a semester."

Fawkes hovered over the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets, waiting for them.Harry urged them to go, and they stepped over the basilisk's motionless, coiled corpse, through the dark, empty, echoing room, back into the tunnel.Harry heard the two stone doors snap shut behind them.

They walked up the tunnel for a few minutes when Harry heard the sound of rocks being slowly moved in the distance. "Ron!" Harry yelled, picking up speed on his feet. "Ginny's all right! I've found her!" He heard Ron let out a muffled cheer. They turned another bend and saw Ron's face looking eagerly at them through a wide opening he'd managed to dig out in the falling rubble.

"Ginny!" Ron stretched out his hand through the gap and pulled Ginny through first. "You're still alive! I can't believe it! What's going on?" He wanted to hug Ginny, but Ginny was crying. He draws close to himself.

"You're all right, Ginny," Ron said to her, smiling. "It's all over. Where did that bird come from?" Fox followed Ginny across the gap.

"It belonged to Dumbledore," said Harry, pushing his way through the opening.

"How do you have a sword?" Ron asked in surprise, staring at the gleaming silver weapon in Jacqueline's hand.

"It was pulled out of the sorting hat." Jacqueline said angrily.

"But..."

"I'll talk about it later," Harry said quickly. He thought it best not to tell Ron who had opened the Chamber of Secrets, at least not in front of Ginny. "Where's Lockhart?"

"Over there," said Ron, grinning, nodding his head toward where the tunnel led to the water pipe. "He's in a bad state. Go check it out."

Fox's wide bright red wings radiated a soft golden light in the darkness. They followed it all the way back to the entrance of the water pipe.Gilderoy Lockhart sat there humming to himself.

"His memory is gone," said Ron. "The Forgetting Charm went backwards and missed us. It hit himself. He has no memory of who he is or where he is or knows us." I told him to come up here and wait. It's not safe for him to stay there."

Lohar looked up at them amiably.

"Hello," he said, "it's a strange place, isn't it? Do you live here?"

"No," said Ron, raising an eyebrow at Harry.Harry bent down and looked up through the long, dark pipe.

"Have you ever wondered how we're going to get back up there down the hose," he said to Ron.

Ron shook his head.Fawkes the phoenix whizzed past Harry just now, and now it was flapping its wings in front of him, its bright eyes were extraordinarily bright in the darkness. It flapped its long golden feathers on the back of its tail.Harry looked at it hesitantly.

"Looks like it wants you to catch it..." said Ron, looking confused, "but you're too heavy for a bird to pull you up."

"Fox is a phoenix," Jacqueline said. "It can hold our weight," she turned to the others. "Ginny, you grab Ron's hand. Professor Lockhart,"

"She was talking about you," Ron said curtly to Lockhart.

"You grab Ginny's other hand." Jacqueline and Harry tucked the sword and the sorting hat into their belts, "Ron, I guess you're at your best now, you grab Fox, Harry you grab On Professor Lockhart's back."

Ron nodded, grabbing the hot part of Fox's tail, and Jacqueline grabbed Harry's robes. Then, with a whoosh, they all flew up the hose.

Lockhart couldn't help shouting: "It's amazing! It's amazing! It's like magic!"

The cold air blew through Jacqueline's hair.Every bone in her was aching, and she was a little drowsy.Soon, the journey is over. They landed on the wet floor of Moaning Myrtle's lavatory, and the sink that covered the pipe slid back into place just as Lockhart straightened his hat.

Myrtle stared at them. "You're alive," she said to Harry disappointedly.

"There's no need to speak in such a disappointed tone." Harry said sternly, wiping away the specks of blood and mucus from his glasses.

"Oh, that's right... I've been thinking, if you die, you're welcome to share this toilet with me," said Myrtle, her face turning silvery white with embarrassment.

"Haha!" said Ron as they left the bathroom and walked out into the empty hallway. "Harry! I think Myrtle has a crush on you! You have competition, Ginny!"

However, the tears still rolled silently down Ginny's cheeks like broken pearls. "Where are we going now?" Ron asked, giving Ginny an anxious look.

"You guys, follow it." Jacqueline pointed to the front.Fox led the way, shining gold all the way down the corridor.

"What about you?" Harry asked.

"I, I have something to do." Jacqueline waved at them and threw the silver sword in his belt to Harry, "Before Professor Snape yelled at me."

They strode after it, and a moment later found themselves standing outside Professor McGonagall's office.Harry knocked on the door, then pushed it open.

Harry, Ron, Ginny and Lockhart stood in the doorway, covered in mud and slime, and Harry's robes were stained with blood. For a while, there was silence all around.Suddenly, there was a scream, "Ginny!"
