The Last Goodbye
Chapter 35
The young man seemed to laugh. Riddle turned his head to meet a pair of sly green eyes. Those eyes flickered in the dim light as if they had obtained some kind of permission. Harry took the other's hand and slowly lowered it under his body.

The Yule Ball is almost here.Gorgeous lights decorate the old manor with a new look.Dance skirts of various colors spun gracefully on the dance floor accompanied by a melodious waltz. The crisp collision of wine glasses. The ladies talked softly. The gentlemen held cigars and talked loudly.

The eyes of different colors stared coldly at the drunken people, but when they met the eyes of the owner of the house, they showed a charming smile. As a distinguished guest of the Malfoy Manor, Gellert Grindelwald would be visited by dignitaries from all walks of life even if he stood still, and he had to deal with lark-like celebrities in between. The black wizard shuttled through the reception with ease, his gentle smile and focused eyes almost blended into his appearance. He actually doesn't like politics, and especially despises those Muggle tricks to play people's hearts, but he still needs to be superficial.
Although on the surface he was an old friend of the owner of the manor for many years, the relationship between Grindelwald and Malfoy was not that good in private - after all, two foxes would not be good friends.Besides, he was well aware that Malfoy would provide Slughorn with information about himself from time to time. But that doesn't diminish the fact that they are a community of interests.Politics is what it is sometimes, you have to figure out how to find allies among your enemies. It's best to be like-minded, but if you can't, take a step back and build a bridge of interests.
That bridge is a British wizarding community that has kept aloof from the continent.
War is imminent.Crystal Night was nothing more than a forewarning of storms to come.Once Hitler got his act together, he needed Malfoy's cooperation in keeping the British wizarding world at bay.On this point at least, he was sure the platinum-haired old fox was happy to oblige. Malfoy was the most appreciative of the situation. With him sitting in the Ministry of Magic and assisting the conservative Minister Hector Fawley, the British nobles would never be involved in the Muggle wars.As long as the situation does not spread beyond the European continent, the United States on the other side of the Atlantic will not intervene. The Siberian Plain stretches across the Far East, and the situation in the Pacific War is not his concern.
All he needs is Continental. As long as he controls the continent, his utopia can take root from there.
But the premise is to have a Britain that is indifferent to the continent. If the British wizarding community intervenes, the American wizarding community will definitely not stand idly by, and it will be very troublesome then. The English Channel looked like a natural barrier, but to the wizard it was only a portkey away.He didn't want a second or third Albus Dumbledore to jump out and ruin his good deeds.
Speaking of Albus, that brain is really... Grindelwald sighed. He hadn't thought of getting involved with Britain at first, but he didn't expect that guy to come to his door by himself, carrying his great and upright thoughts as always. Brabla talked for a long time, which made him dumbfounded. He has already avoided England, so why does that guy even care about Germany. He can't be bothered to listen to the other person's brainwashed thoughts - and those are not all I taught him - he thought sarcastically. So he set a trap, intending to imprison that womanly-minded guy in Nurmengard to calm down, but when he left the prison, he forgot to cast anti-phoenix magic around him...
Grindelwald dodged the rowdy crowd and walked absent-mindedly into the snow.Lights and music fade away. There is only cold wind and white snow here.Trees and flowers were frozen by magic and kept their beauty until death.Suddenly there was a neigh in the silent night. He looked for the source of the sound and found a dying sparrow deep in the rose garden. It fell into the snow, and the warm feathers melted a small hole in the surrounding snow. The bird's wings could not move, only the tail was still struggling. It squeezed out a mournful cry from its chest, which was quickly drowned in the west wind.
Grindelwald raised his hand, intending to give it a good end.
There are footsteps behind me.The black wizard turned his head alertly, and saw a young man with green eyes approaching. The young man passed him by, stopped beside the dying bird, squatted down, and covered the sparrow with his hands. Grindelwald thought that the other party had the same idea as himself, but found that the soft white light of healing magic was shining through the young man's fingers.
unnecessary.he thought. The bird cannot be saved.
The hissing became weaker and weaker. But the light in the young man's hand is getting stronger and stronger.
"Don't try." He looked down at the other person, but the person did not give up.Really persistent. He made a sarcasm in his heart.Usually he would walk away when he met such a guy who didn't know how to adapt, but today he especially wanted to see how the other party failed.Perhaps this green-eyed guy reminded him of a deadly enemy. The wind picked up, blowing the young man's black hair. Grindelwald noticed a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. That scar seems to have been stained with some kind of black magic...
Suddenly there was a crisp bird song in the wind.
The young man raised his hand, and the sparrow flew into the air, and quickly disappeared into the night.
The green-eyed stranger stood up slowly, about to walk away. Grindelwald stopped him with his hand. "Amazing." He praised sincerely, attaching a charming smile, "I'm Gellert Grindelwald." He deliberately paused, "Excuse me, are you...?"
The young man didn't answer, but turned his body slightly to avoid his hand. Grindelwald frowned suspiciously.
"Harry!"
A call came from a distance. He was surprised to find that there was an instant light in those green eyes. The beautiful emerald green reflects the moonlight, brighter than the most beautiful night pearl. The young man glanced at him lightly, and then left. Grindelwald turned to see a boy of eleven or twelve walking towards them.
"Mr. Grindelwald?" Riddle recognized him first.
"Are you the young master's friend?" The black wizard smiled softly.
"Salazar Potter, it's an honor to meet you." Riddle shook hands with him maturely.
"The one next to you is...?"
"My guardian."
Grindelwald nodded slightly. He took out a card from his suit pocket and handed it to the other party. The card was blank, but the moment Riddle touched it, two rows of gorgeous curlicues emerged.Below the two lines, there is a strange mark.A triangle encloses a circle and is penetrated by a straight line.
"Both of you are welcome to come to the humble house at any time. Touch the sign when you want to come." The black wizard nodded gracefully, "I'll take my leave first." After speaking, he walked towards the brightly lit house. As he brushed past Harry, his fingertips brushed the other's hand indistinctly.
Vestigium.
ALLIES OF THE DARK, PART III
2002
Draco Malfoy woke up from a bizarre dream.Sweat soaked the silk pajamas and clung to him coldly. He subconsciously groped towards the edge of the bed, but Astoria wasn't there. He sat alone on the huge four-poster bed, surrounded only by the silvery moonlight. Draco stared absently at the other side of the bed. There was a pop from behind. He turned to see a wizard appearing beside the bed.The wizard had a neat suit, and his red hair was like a jumping flame in the moonlight. He respectfully handed Draco a stack of paperwork, "Mr. Congressman, here are the meeting minutes you want. The German side has agreed to cooperate with us..." Draco didn't take the paperwork, he stared at the man in shock.
"...This is my home, Weasley." Master Malfoy could hardly keep his noble self-cultivation.
"Yes, sir." Ron Weasley agreed, still holding up the document, "Do you need me to inform the butler to prepare breakfast?"
"How dare you break into Malfoy Manor!"
"Um, sir, didn't you say that Germany would notify you as soon as there was news?" Ron looked confused, like he'd been in the other's bedroom hundreds of times. Draco was still glaring at him sullenly. Ron tactfully put the folder back under his arm, "I'll tell the butler to prepare breakfast for you." After saying that, he bowed slightly and left quickly.
Draco was so sleepy that he rolled out of bed angrily, and snapped his fingers to call for the house-elf Zoe. "There's a Weasley in the manor, drive him out." Zoe took the master's order and retreated respectfully. After a simple wash, Draco opened the closet to find a set of wizard robes, but found that there were only various styles of suits in it.He casually took a suit and put it on, and then he put on a tie and a watch driven by inertia. "Just like a Muggle." He looked at himself in the floor-to-ceiling mirror with some disdain.
It's about four o'clock in the morning. Master Malfoy walks into the dining room
