LE, PART III

1941

Durmstrang's Yule Ball is extraordinarily grand.

The dance floor is built into a castle carved out of solid ice on top of a cliff. When night falls, the beautiful northern lights flow in the vast starry sky, like the emerald green skirt of the gods hanging down on the earth. The castle made of ice and snow is shrouded in the aurora, sitting on the frosty sky, and the magic sealed in the ice bricks reflects it into a crystal clear indigo, like a dream.

"It's so beautiful." Charlotte, who was led off the carriage by her dance partner, stared intently at the ice and snow castle in front of her, "It's like a fairy tale. Durmstrang can always surprise people." She held her partner's arm affectionately—the fact She had seen more splendid occasions than this in the world, but of course a true lady had something to say to compliment her partner.

Harry held Charlotte's arm in a gentlemanly manner, and cast a silent spell casually to prevent the cold wind from messing up the noble lady's bun. Miss Malfoy brushed her platinum blonde hair with a smile, and suddenly pressed close to the young man's ear, whispering something in a low voice. Harry was amused by her. Miss Malfoy looked happy too, and she leaned forward again, about to say something more, but her light gray eyes happened to glance nearby...

"Mr. Karkaroff, Mr. Voldemort, are you all right?"

Charlotte flashed her deer-like eyes, looking at the other two warriors who had just stepped off the carriage - the two of them didn't look particularly good... although they both dragged their dancing partners out of the carriage in a gentlemanly manner , but it seems that he didn't pay any attention to the lady beside him, instead he stared at her with slightly arrogant eyes.

They look even less friendly than on the field.

"You don't have a game today, why are you so serious?" Charlotte covered her mouth and chuckled.Just when a gust of wind blew, she subconsciously shrank into the arms of the person beside her, "Harry, it's a bit cold, let's go in." The young man thoughtfully took off his coat and put it on her body, then took her hand , went to the castle together.

After they walked more than ten steps, the other two warriors led their dance partners and followed. "Wearing backless skirts because of the cold," Karkaroff muttered as he walked. "That's right." Riddle echoed in a low voice. After the two people finished speaking, they looked at each other in surprise—this was the first time since they knew each other that they had the same opinion.

Although Durmstrang did not ask the warriors to lead the dance, the three warriors spontaneously led a waltz out of politeness. When the song was over, the surrounding students stepped onto the dance floor one by one. After three songs, Harry excused himself to get a drink and left Charlotte.

He had a bad feeling.

Grindelwald hadn't been seen tonight. Bergstrm and Blanc are also absent. This is so unusual. The German won't pick Christmas to do things. The young man was leaning against the bar made of solid ice, sipping champagne while looking for the person in charge of Hogwarts among the crowd. He found it in a short while.

Dumbledore wore a plain white robe today, with only gold accessories around the neckline and waist. He was standing at the other end of the auditorium, talking to his warriors. Harry put down his glass and was about to walk over to join, but was blocked by a man.

"May I invite you to a dance, Professor Potter?"

"This is not a good time, Dragan, wait a minute..."

He glanced again in the direction of Albus and Riddle just in time to catch another man joining them, Newt. Not good. Harry walked away, but was dragged back by a hand. The young man looked at Durmstrang who held him back in shock.

"Don't be in a hurry," Karkaroff looked at him with a smile, "The fun will begin soon."

What? Harry drew his wand reflexively—

The music stopped abruptly.

The students all stopped and looked at the orchestra suspiciously. In fact, the orchestra was still playing hard, but someone cast a soundproof spell across the auditorium.

creak.

The door to the platform on the second floor opened, and a person came down the spiral staircase carved out of ice and snow—Gellert Grindelwald. There was silence in the auditorium. His leather shoes clicked on the ice.Everyone is looking at him.The dark wizard stopped in the middle of the spiral staircase, looking down at the hundreds of guests in the ballroom. "I'm sorry, everyone. I'm late." He said softly, his voice soft and charming, "I was preparing Christmas presents for you all, and I just got them ready."

The students stared at him nervously.

"Then," the blond wizard walked down slowly, "ladies, please lift up your skirts, I don't want to stain your beautiful gowns." Something was spreading out from under his feet - a black line after another. Wire.

Harry heard someone gasp.

People approaching the spiral staircase began to duck back, trying to stay as far away from those lines as possible.

"Don't be so nervous," the Dark Wizard smiled kindly, "They don't bite." He was well down the stairs now. When he stepped forward again, those black lines suddenly scattered like flying! It rustled all over the auditorium! The black lines intersect and intertwine, turning into a huge magic circle.

Some people screamed and fled desperately, but more people stepped into the area covered by the magic circle before they could react. It was so huge that it took less than half a moment to wrap the entire ice and snow castle, whizzing up along the indigo wall, and reaching the crystal chandelier on the zenith.

The chandelier made a crisp sound.

Harry stared at the thread beneath his feet. They are like some kind of living ink, swimming back and forth on the ice and snow carved floor tiles. Karkaroff still had his arms around his waist, but he couldn't care less now - the magic circle under his feet had bound hundreds of people in the auditorium together, including Karkaroff and Grindelwald himself of course.

With a buzzing sound, the magic circle started!

The young man reflexively used his magic power to resist, but the power of the magic circle is too great, no matter what it is, it is definitely not something that one or two wizards can use their own magic power to counteract.Someone was screaming, someone was crying, and a girl next to Harry was holding her head nervously. This commotion may have lasted for tens of seconds, or it may have lasted for several minutes, but finally the shouting and crying gradually subsided. .No one was hurt.No one was attacked. No one was in danger.

The only thing that changed was the surrounding scenery—they left the beautiful ice and snow castle and stood on a piece of dark brown land—is this a teleportation array?

Harry looked up, and he could see the sky directly from here.daytime? The youth frowned. This is not a simple teleportation array, the time has actually changed? It was very bright all around, and although the sky was covered with lead clouds, it was still possible to catch a faint skylight.what happened? Karkaroff had let go of him, but Harry grabbed him, "Where is this?"

Apparently many people have the same question. The students all looked around in panic. They were standing on an open field, and there were rows of uniform red brick houses in the distance.Looking at the terrified expressions of the people around you, you can tell that no one recognizes this strange place. There was an indescribably greasy, pungent smell in the air.The gray rain was falling in wisps from the leaden clouds, soaking their rich dresses.

A girl next to her suddenly whispered, "This rain..." She looked at her skirt in horror, and the rain melted on it, turning it into black and gray.More people began to realize that something was wrong with the rain.It is not so much rain as it is ash stained with water. But this thing is falling from the sky, tick-tock, there is no avoiding it.Everyone began to use magic to prop up the shelter above their heads, but those who encountered the rain were not harmed.

A few drops fell on Harry's hands, and he rubbed them lightly, and they turned into charred carbon between his fingers, with an unpleasant sticky feeling.

"Please don't be so nervous, this is just my memory."

A magnetic voice sounded not far away.

Harry shook off Karkaroff and walked quickly towards the source of the sound. But when he was halfway there, he was pulled back again. The young man turned his head impatiently—meeting a pair of calm black eyes. Tom Riddle pressed a finger to his lips, then pointed to Newt standing behind him. Harry mouthed a sentence from his mouth.

Give it to Albus.said the little devil.

Grindelwald, who was not far away, didn't notice this little episode in the crowd. He just dusted off the dust on his body, then gracefully opened his arms, and made a welcoming gesture to everyone present.

"Welcome to Auschwitz, everyone."
