Chapter 48 Black and White Magic

The next day, Harry went downstairs to have breakfast in a good mood. This time there was a fight between Wizards Weekly and the Daily Prophet, and Harry's life was much better than last time. The students would still look at Harry and whisper, but there were more people defending Harry than last time.

At breakfast, Professor McGonagall passed out timetables along the table.

"Look at today!" Ron sighed, "History of Magic, two Potions classes, two Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, Binns, Snape, Trelawney, and that Umbridge Women, all on the same day! I hope Fred and George hurry up and get those quick-acting skipping candies out!"

Harry stared at the white magic elective which was scheduled for Saturday afternoon, and asked suspiciously, "Why is it scheduled for Saturday?"

"Because there is no room in the class schedule." Emmarise, who was sitting next to them, replied while forking a fried egg into a plate, "It's too difficult to find a time when all the students in the school are free."

"All students in the school?" Hermione asked in surprise, "Will all the students in the school participate? Including Slytherin?!"

Harry asked in surprise: "The Slytherin group will take Professor Gryffindor's class?!"

Ron frowned and said suspiciously, "What conspiracy do they have?"

Emaris finished eating a pie with perfect etiquette, and said lightly: "Only the first class is for all students in the school. Dad will decide who can continue to class based on the situation of the first class."

The three of Harry froze for a moment, and Hermione asked cautiously: "Amaris, what do you think the electives mean?"

Amaris looked at them pretending to be innocent, "Isn't it the professor who chooses who can repair?" She drank the pumpkin juice in her hand, picked up her schoolbag and left the auditorium.

The three of Harry looked at each other in silence for a while, feeling that Godric Gryffindor's character might be different from what they had imagined.

Monday is indeed a difficult day.In History of Magic class, Harry and Hermione were separated by Ron, who had fallen asleep. As the only one awake in the class, Harry wrote Draco a long letter that he was going to hand to him in Potions later in the class.Snape's gaze fell squarely on Harry's face as he stressed the importance of the OWLs.Harry remembered that he would stay under Snape for another three years, so he lowered his head in despair.Harry watched with some relief a faint, silver-white steam rising from his cauldron, and was greatly relieved after Snape passed him silently.

After lunch, Harry decided to finish the thesis assigned by Snape first. Hermione smiled with satisfaction and took the lead towards the library.Facing Ron's surprised expression, Harry whispered, "I don't think I'll be in the mood to write a paper after taking that woman's class." Ron nodded suddenly.

Hurrying, Harry finally finished the thesis before Defense Against the Dark Arts. The three hurried to the classroom.

Harry listened in silence to the argument between Umbridge and Hermione - which later extended to the whole class.Umbridge's puffy eyes lingered on Harry from time to time.Harry had to admit that Umbridge was definitely the professor he hated the most - she wasn't worthy of the position at all, but Umbridge was worse than Snape than Ron to Draco when it came to pissing him off. so far away.

After dinner, the three of Harry returned to the Gryffindor common room.

Hermione suddenly yelled, "How could Dumbledore let this happen?"

Harry and Ron were taken aback.Hermione tapped the armrest of the chair angrily, and the stuffing inside leaked through the hole. "How could he let that horrible woman teach us? And in the year we're taking the OWLs!"

"He can't help it." Harry said, "Professor Dumbledore has already found a good candidate, but Fudge is very tough this time. Professor Dumbledore feels that when Voldemort has been resurrected, he should avoid adding other enemies."

Hermione said angrily: "Of course she came here to spy on all of us, so what else does Fudge want her to do?"

"Speaking of which," Ron looked at Harry, "dude, you didn't argue with Umbridge today?!"

Harry said calmly, "Probably because everyone reminded me not to provoke her."

After they finished their week of classes, everyone was looking forward to Saturday. After lunch, everyone stayed in the auditorium without moving, including the professors, and even Dumbledore sat in his seat without moving.

Godric Gryffindor walked into the auditorium, raising his eyebrows at the situation. He asked the students to stand up, removed the four long tables, and surrounded all the chairs, leaving only a gap for him to stand on.

"Students sit down," he said, and then Godric looked at the teacher's seat, a smile flashed in his eyes, "all the observers stand at the back."

The students watched curiously as all the professors walked behind the chairs and stood up under the leadership of Headmaster Dumbledore. With a flick of his wand, Godric added a row of chairs in the back for them to sit.

"Everyone!" said Godric, "today is our first class, and there won't be so many people after that, so I'll save the roll call for another time. Now let's cut to the chase," Godric asked. Can anyone tell me what white magic is?"

There was silence in the auditorium, and the students looked at each other in blank dismay.Godric had expected this situation a long time ago, so he turned to ask: "Then who can tell what the magic attribute is?"

"No one knows about this?" Godric frowned. "Then, why are most of the students in Slytherin House pure blood?"

Parkinson lifted his chin and said sharply, "Because only pure blood is noble."

Godric nodded indifferently, and continued to ask: "Then why are pure blood noble?"

"Because..." Parkinson paused, and Zabini continued, "Because we have been wizards for generations."

"Pure blood is noble because you have been wizards for generations?" Godric took a deep breath, "Son, if your brain is not good, read more and talk less."

Godric ignored those laughing voices, and he said loudly: "The majority of Slytherin colleges are pure-blooded because Slytherin colleges major in black magic, and most pure-blood wizards have the blood of magical creatures, so the magic attribute is dark. And Gryffindor House is just the opposite, we major in white magic." He paused, "Of course, this one is useless now, because almost all white magic is lost now."

Draco raised his hand and said, "So there are no moles in Slytherin House, is it because they don't have the talent to learn black magic?"

"No." Godric replied indifferently, "It has nothing to do with talent, it's just Salazar's personal preference."

There was a hum of conversation in the auditorium.Harry raised his hand and asked hesitantly, "Professor Gryffindor, you don't seem to think that this kind of... personal preference is bad?"

"What's wrong with that?" Godric asked in a puzzled tone, and he said confidently, "I don't want Veela blood in my academy!"

"Ahem!" Umbridge coughed twice as if he had caught the handle.

Godric reprimanded unceremoniously: "Keep quiet! Listening is just like listening!"

He continued to preach to the students: "The effect of black magic tends to attack and destroy, while white magic is for healing and purification. Black magic is activated by negative emotions, while white magic requires positive emotions." He paused and asked a question : "Now, based on what I just said, can anyone guess what the only known white magic is?"

Harry raised his hand in the silence of the crowd, "Call God for protection. You need a happy mood when you cast a spell."

Godric smiled and nodded, "Five points to Gryffindor."

He clapped his hands and said loudly: "Now, those who don't know the spell will stand up."

All but Harry and a few sixth and seventh graders stood up.The corner of Godric's mouth twitched, and he gave Dumbledore a look that was almost accusing.Dumbledore avoided his gaze, pretending to study his beard.

Umbridge stood up next to Dumbledore and said in a whiny voice, "I don't think they need to master such spells, as long as they learn the theory very solidly..."

"Ma'am, let's get straight to the point." Godric looked at her as if he were looking at a dead person, "At Hogwarts, you are not qualified to be a professor, pointing fingers at anyone! Now, please yourself Leave, or I'll help you leave."

Umbridge blushed, turned and left.

The next day, while eating breakfast, Hermione opened the Daily Prophet and was surprised to find a large photo of Dolores Umbridge. She was all smiles and blinked at them, and it read the headline: Ministry of Magic seeks education reforms Dolores Umbridge appointed first Senior Inquisitor.

Hermione finished reading the report aloud, and looked at Harry and Ron across the table, "Now we finally know how we got Umbridge! Fudge sent her to us through this 'education order'! And now Fudge is giving her the power to check other teachers!" Hermione breathed heavily, her eyes sparkling, "I can't believe it. This is outrageous!"

"I know." Harry whispered. He looked down at his right hand on the table, remembering the words 'I must not lie' that Umbridge had forced into his skin.

"This must be for Professor Gryffindor!" Ron said with a mischievous smile on his face.

"What's wrong?" Hermione asked, staring at him.

"Oh, I can't wait to see Professor Gryffindor get checked," Ron said happily, "Come to think of it, Professor Gryffindor is not one to swallow! Um must be the one who suffers this time." Rich."

The author has something to say:

Originally, this chapter wanted to get Umbridge away, but it turned out to be too much for Godric to teach...
