John Snape of HP
Chapter 74
Once John fell asleep, he slept through the night.
Snape had been sitting on a chair in the bedroom, quietly reading a book.So when John opened his eyes, what he saw was this scene——
It was dark outside the window, and the bedroom was lit with a faint and warm orange light. In the room, the person he liked lowered his head, staring intently at the pages of the book in his hand.
Snape's profile outlined a charming arc, and his expression was calm and peaceful.
In a daze, John seemed to see that night a few years ago, when Severus first appeared.
——Severus, who was reading a book with his head down, showed indifference and the heaviness of experiencing the world, his black eyes were very empty, he seemed to be outside the whole world, strange and lonely, and out of place.
"Are you awake? Mrs. Laws has cooked dinner."
A low, familiar voice rang out, pulling him back from his memory.Severus in front of him closed the book and looked over.
There was an imperceptible gentleness in his dark eyes.
No longer a void.
John couldn't help but soften in his heart. There was a smile on his face, and just as he was about to agree, his body moved a little--the expression froze.
"I, I can't get up, I can't move. It hurts so much—" he stammered.
Snape raised his eyebrows in surprise, he looked John up and down, and raised his wand:
"Quick healing—"
John suddenly became angry: "Do you know where I hurt! It doesn't work!"
"Then where is your pain?" Snape asked kindly.
John's face turned from red to black, and then from black to red again, and he trembled with anger.
"You—give it to me! Get out immediately!!"
John growled angrily.
Snape was startled when he saw the thick book on his knee flying up suddenly, intending to beat him up.
The next moment, another chair and desk lamp also flew up, staring at him in the air together with the thick book.
This is John's perfect silent levitation spell in anger-or is it called a grown-up version of Mana Riot?
Snape couldn't help but change his face.
——If Harry Potter, Malfoy, or any Hogwarts professor or student saw this scene at this moment, their eyeballs would definitely drop to the ground in shock.
The sullen old bat with a poisonous tongue, the terrifying cellar snake king, and their Professor Snape were kicked out of the bedroom by an ordinary man—in an almost embarrassed posture.
……
Standing in front of the closed door, Snape never thought he would have this day.
George and Mrs. Laws, who heard the movement and came up to check, had weird expressions on their faces. Snape ignored them and said to the door pretending to be normal:
"If Mr. Snape doesn't want to die of starvation in there... can your professor and dinner be allowed in?"
His face returned to calm, only some tension leaked from his tightly pursed lips.
There was a moment of silence in the room.Ten seconds later, the person inside said:
"Let Mrs. Laws bring me my dinner. You won't come in! And—where's the car?"
"Still stopping on the way to the publishing house." Snape paused and replied.
Mrs. Laws suddenly whispered: "George, you go and drive back."
"What, me??"
George was watching a good show with relish, when his name was suddenly called, and he looked dazed.
"Go!" urged Mrs. Rouse.
George had to mutter and reluctantly go downstairs.
Mrs. Laws motioned for Snape to follow him downstairs as well.Snape hesitated, then followed.
Within a few minutes, the two came back.
Mrs. Rolls followed behind Snape, who held the tray of dinner in his hand.
She gave Snape a narrow smile of encouragement, and knocked on the door.
"John, open the door," she said.
The door opened.
Snape stepped in without hesitation.
"Mrs. Laws, please put it on the bedside—" John's words stopped abruptly, and his tone immediately turned angry.
"Who let you in!"
—John couldn't help turning red and black when he saw Snape now.
Snape put down the tray, walked straight over, and before John could react, he bent down and pressed the back of his head.
"Well—" John's eyes widened suddenly.
The slightly cool thin lips blocked his words and breathing, and his lips were filled with the familiar bitterness of another person.
This kiss was not long, and after Snape let go of John, he stared at him seriously:
"John, I didn't control it well and hurt you."
"I'm sorry." He said sincerely.
Such a blunt apology didn't seem like something Snape would say.John was both surprised and angry.
He muttered vaguely: "Forget it...it's the first time anyway, you don't understand."
Snape picked up the tray while the iron was hot.
"Then I feed you?" He said awkwardly.
John suddenly became vigilant, squinted at Snape in a strange way, and asked suspiciously: "Mrs. Laws taught you this, right?!"
Snape fell into an eerie silence.
"I knew you wouldn't talk like that!" John raised his eyebrows angrily.
Seeing that he had been exposed, Snape no longer followed what Mrs. Rolls said.Resuming his usual tone, he said sarcastically:
"So Mr. Snape is planning to invite your professor to another funeral? The cause of death is ridiculous and refuses to eat? Even a brainless animal like a salamander knows which is more important, eating or breathing fire—"
He approached John, and said word by word with a sense of oppression: "But I seriously suspect that your IQ is already worse than that of a salamander."
John rolled his eyes and muttered "I won't eat if you don't bring the tray".
He felt that he was hopeless.
He felt awkward when Severus spoke in a good voice, and he had to be sprayed with venom to feel normal.
