Chapter 18 Farewell, Tom

Not long after, Malfoy, whose face was as pale as a dementor, appeared in front of her.

"The Dark Lord wants to see you," said Malfoy. The voice trembled slightly, as if announcing her death sentence.

Nora stood up, and two Death Eaters held her from left to right, so that she had no chance to pull out her wand. But thank goodness the Dark Lord didn't tell them to search her, or she wouldn't have been sorry to Dumbledore at 01:30.

The Dark Lord sat at the end of the long table, surrounded by his Death Eaters, in a dimly lit basement like a gathering of demons in hell. The appearance of Nora attracted everyone's attention.

She thought she was ready enough, but when she saw the pale, flat snake face, Nora was still terrified—how could anyone trample their soul like that.

"Nora Gray." The Dark Lord opened his lips. "A person who has died has appeared before me again. What does this mean?"

"It must be the old bee's trap," said Bellacrist hastily.

The Dark Lord ignored her, he just stared at Nora.

Nora forced herself to look directly into his red eyes.Reminiscing, reminiscing about the past.

The plane tree next to the orphanage, the boy talking with the snake.Hogwarts Express, a freshman full of desire to explore everything. In the first section of the library, the ghost secretly followed him, watching him flip through books on black magic.

It seems that after 100 years, the feeling of oppression has finally disappeared.Nora almost lost her balance.

"Come closer," said the Dark Lord softly.

Not even the Death Eaters behind him dared to step forward.Nora forced her legs to move, and stepped in front of him.

"Kneel down." He said coldly.

Bella readily cast a curse on Nora, causing Nora to feel a sharp pain in her knees and fall to her knees.

Now, she had to look up into Voldemort's face.

"I'm glad to see you again," he said. "You've known me longer than anyone here."

"My honour, my lord," said Nora.

Unlike the shock of the Death Eaters, the Dark Lord was quite pleased with the reaction.

"It was your death that allowed me to push magic to a deeper level," said the Dark Lord.

Nora's heart was pounding.

"We all know that on the road to eternal life, I have gone farther than anyone else." The Dark Lord's red eyes scanned the surroundings, making everyone who touched them flinch, only Bella eagerly leaned forward Body, "However, compared to the other secret I discovered, deceiving the god of death is only an insignificant part."

Nora's eyes widened.A more important secret than cheating death?

The Dark Lord gave the answer: "Time." He whispered in her ear, a voice only Nora could hear: "The most powerful of all elements."

The answer met her expectations.

"This secret is a gift that my ancestor, Salazar Slytherin, hid in his relics and gave to his descendants," said the Dark Lord. "I, and only I, can touch that secret."

What is hidden in Slytherin's locket?Nora never knew this, and none of the futures mentioned that the locket would be useful for anything else, it was just a Horcrux.

"For that, I will give you a chance. A crowning honor, in honor of our friendship," said the Dark Lord, sliding his pale fingers across her face, "stretch out your hand."

Bella gasped.

Everyone is waiting for her action. To meet an Avada Kedavra, or to leave an indelible Death Eater's mark on his arm.

"Please, Master," said Nora, "I'd be happy to serve you, but please, give me a little more time, please." She leaned forward, her forehead resting on the floor, her magic catapult clutched tightly in her hand. device.

Voldemort raised his finger.

Nagini hissed.

Malfoy clenched his hands.

Bella gasped excitedly.

However, no green light, no killing spells.

To everyone's surprise, the Dark Lord said: "Of course I can give you time. Why would I refuse to give my loyal friend a chance?" He grinned grimly: "However, whether we are still friends depends on You, Nora."

Nora, who returned to the cell again, felt that she had just stepped into the gate of Hades with one foot.

Fortunately, she didn't die for now.

Well, while the Dark Lord still has some humanity towards old friend Nora Gray, that mercy obviously won't last long. She should cast any black magic on the diary or the diadem and get out of this mess.

But, out of some unfounded feeling, she wanted to see him one more time. She wants to confirm one thing. It didn't matter much compared to the bigger picture, but Nora knew it must mean something.

Probably because Dumbledore's love education is too deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Memories become complete.

"Bringing the dead back to life?" Riddle moved his eyes from the book to her face. "It's just a hoax. Alchemy can reshape the body, but it can't summon the soul. Resurrection has been deemed impossible."

"But it's magic," said Nora stubbornly. "Magic is what makes the impossible possible. You see, if we can change time, we can also..."

"Time hasn't been changed." Riddle said lightly. "The time converter makes two people appear in the same time and space, but what should happen will still happen according to its trajectory. Everything is a complete circle."

Nora frowned, unable to understand these theoretical things.

"Whatever you say," she said, "I won't be content until I try it myself."

Riddle had gone on to flip through his book.

And then Nora tried that magic behind everyone's back, including Tom Riddle. It was indeed a complete scam, cheating the girl's life.

But that hoax wasn't set by Tom Riddle, no.that's enough.

Nora lay asleep in the cell, and when she woke up again, Draco Malfoy appeared in front of her.

"Come on." He unlocked the cell. "The Hogwarts party failed, and lost nothing but one man. The Dark Lord is throwing a tantrum up there. There's a secret passage in the dungeon." , can lead to the outside..."

"Why did you save me?" Nora asked.

"Because I can't watch you die!" Malfoy roared, "I know it's too late to apologize. But I can't help it, my parents are in his hands..."

Nora took a good look at a Malfoy for the first time. She believed that the boy wanted to save her, and she also believed that his heart was not too bad.But she didn't know what made him willing to take a huge risk to save her. After all, one side is a girl who met by chance, and the other side is his parents and his own life. Normal people know how to choose, let alone profit. Malfoy, unless the boy was already madly in love with her.

"I'll be fine," Malfoy said. "He promised me...he said he would..."

"He? Who is he?"

"There's no time to explain, let's go." Malfoy lowered his voice.

"What are you doing here?" Bellacrist entered. "Are you going to let her go secretly, Draco?"

Malfoy's expression froze.Bella definitely doesn't mind giving a death curse to her nephew who betrayed her master.

"No," Nora replied. "I've thought it over. I want to see the Dark Lord."

As good as it is, Nora saw Voldemort again just a few hours later. And she hasn't figured out what to say yet.

But it made no difference, even if she wrote a long draft, she probably forgot all about it when she faced Voldemort.

"Have you reached a conclusion?"

"Yes," said Nora. This time she was finally able to stand up and talk.

"Very well...then your answer is—"

"Before that, I have something else to say," said Nora. "I can only tell you one person."

The Dark Lord narrowed his eyes.Bella immediately protested.

"I want to tell you the secret of my resurrection," said Nora. "I think it has a lot to do with what you are looking for."

A smile appeared on the pale snake's face.

"Get out," he ordered.

The Death Eaters walked cleanly within seconds as if they were being pardoned.Only Bella glanced at it fondly.

"That magic is not bringing people back to life, but traveling through time." Nora said, "It should be said that part of it succeeded. Part of me died and became a ghost, and the other part of me traveled through time and came to 50 years Then. When the two parts of me appear at the same time, I will be the whole me again." She spoke nervously, not daring to look directly into Voldemort's red eyes.

The Dark Lord let out a sharp laugh.

"How long are you going to lie to me, Nora," he whispered.Standing up from the chair, the long black robe dragged at his feet.He circled her: "After you died, I studied that magic more thoroughly than the person who invented it. It has nothing to do with reversing time and space."

Nora's clothes were drenched with cold sweat.

"Do you know why I don't want to meet your ghost?" Voldemort asked. He answered himself: "Because a ghost is just a remnant of the dead left in this world. Ghosts, or things summoned by the resurrection stone, are just phantoms."

"Now, you still have a choice." Voldemort stopped and said indulgently, "Tell me everything, or I will find them myself."

"I see." Nora said thoughtfully, looking up into his red eyes, "So, you once summoned 'I' from the resurrection stone ring."

"No." Riddle replied coldly.

"You know, Tom," said Nora, "the reason I'm staying here is because there's something I want to tell you."

"But now, there's no need to tell you—because you still choose to be who you are now."

Black flames blazed, burning Ravenclaw's diadem.

It's the most powerful spell she can wield, and one of the few dark arts she knows. It was Tom Riddle who taught her.

Voldemort's life was a life of suicide. In other words, the only one who can defeat him is himself.Sounds pretty cool.

However, unlike before, this time Riddle's expression did not freeze in anger, but almost ecstatic surprise.

The flame in the fireplace stopped beating, and Nagini maintained his head-shrinking posture.

"Time..." said Voldemort.

He really stopped at this moment.

Nora came up to him, stood on tiptoe, and whispered in his ear what the ghost wanted to say. Then she steps back.

"Farewell, Tom," she said, "but as far as I'm concerned, it won't be long before I see you again."
