Chapter 37 Chapter 37
After a blast of singing and dancing, Amy and Cedric squeezed their way from the dance floor. "I'm going to get something to drink," Cedric said, walking her to the table.
Harry and Cho Chang were there, and so was Hermione, looking very angry.
"Hi, where's Ron?" Amy looked around.
"Probably back," Harry looked at Hermione, who didn't seem ready to speak yet.
"Did I miss something?" Amy looked at Qiu Zhang who was silent on one side, and then at Harry and Hermione.
"Nothing," said Harry, with the air of saying later, "Where's Cedric?"
"He's gone to get a drink." Amy sat down on the edge of the table, "Qiu Zhang, don't move, there is a big beetle on the edge of the table behind you."
"Oh, oh," the four people looked over, and the beetle flapped its wings and flew away as if it could understand Amy's words.
"Strange," said Hermione, "how come there are beetles this season?"
"Maybe it's a magical creature?" Amy shrugged, "It's true that I haven't seen it either."
"Amy, you danced really well with Cedric," Cho Chang said with a smile.Harry moved uneasily beside him.
"Thank you, the next few fast songs are really terrible, aren't they?" Amy said sheepishly.
"Yeah," Hermione seemed to have recovered, "Victor—" Hermione looked at Amy and the others shyly, and waved to Krum, who walked this way with two bottles of butterbeer come over.
"Hi," Krum greeted them clumsily with two bottles of butterbeer in one hand.Sitting down next to Hermione.
Hermione introduced the group to Krum. Then, "Let's go for a walk," said Hermione. The two said their goodbyes and walked to the magic garden outside the front hall. The table fell silent. The Weird Sisters start playing a new tune.
"Harry," Qiu Zhang said softly, "this song is quite nice,"
"Oh," Harry glanced at Amy, still a little nervous, stood up and said, "Then let's go to the dance floor."
Qiu Zhang stood up with a smile, and after waving to Amy, the two joined the dancing crowd.Although Harry's movements were still a little uncoordinated, Qiu Zhang was still very happy.Dean and Seamus, who were dancing next to Harry, were beaming and grimacing at Harry.
"I'm back," Cedric said, sitting next to Amy and handing her the butterbeer.
"Thanks," Amy turned her gaze back. "They're a lot of fun dancing."
"Indeed." Cedric took a sip of his beer. "Go for a walk?"
"Ok."
Amy and Cedric walked out of the hall.Caught off guard at the door, they ran into Professor Snape. He was still wearing a pure black robe, and he seemed to have returned from the garden.
"Professor Snape," Cedric said.Amy straightened her shoulders, pursed her lips, and said nothing.
Snape cast a heavy look at the two of them, "Have a good time," he said lightly, and walked into the auditorium.
Amy felt her shoulders slump. The next thing she seemed to lose concentration, she just remembered smiling at Cedric. The little fairies flew around in the garden, shining a little light, and Amy couldn't help but think of the starry sky that night when the Quidditch game was played.
They sat down on the carved bench near the fountain, and the two of them looked at the fountain under the moonlight, only the sound of gurgling water could be heard in their ears for a while.
"Lovely evening," said Cedric.
"Yeah," Amy responded softly.
"Anything on your mind?"
"Well, no."
"I wonder who that lucky man is," Cedric said lightly.
"Huh?" Amy didn't expect him to say that.
"Why didn't he send out an invitation? But then I'm the one favored by Merlin, lucky day!" Cedric smiled at Amy.
Amy was also amused by him, "Actually, that man is a coward," Amy murmured.
"And I'm a warrior," Cedric's joke successfully brought Amy out of her depression.
"Yes, you are a Hogwarts warrior." Amy said seriously. "Is the second project in sight?"
"Been preparing before the holidays," Cedric said, "and got some help."
"Well, can you tell me?" Amy suddenly had an idea. "I promise I won't tell anyone, and I'm not helping Harry get ready for the game," Amy added hastily.
"Of course," Cedric told Amy the content of the singing in a low voice. He guessed it was underwater, most likely in Hogwarts Lake. "Look for the mermaid, and get back my beloved treasure, but I don't know what the treasure is." Cedric looked into Amy's eyes.
Amy listened carefully, "Looking for mermaids, is there a mermaid's home in the lake? How can I find such a big lake? I guess there will be no guides."
"Indeed," Cedric was also lost in thought, "I haven't thought of this yet,"
"I believe it's difficult to navigate underwater, isn't it? I'd get lost in a castle." Amy felt sympathetic.
"Yeah," Cedric smiled at Amy. "I guess it takes a lot of preparation."
"Yeah," Amy said, looking dreamily at the fountain.
"But then again, are you also lost in the castle?" Cedric teased. The topic turned to Hogwarts again.
The two chatted for a long time without knowing it, and almost forgot the time. It was almost midnight when Cedric sent Amy back to the Gryffindor tower. They met Harry, and Cedric asked Amy to wait , and then said a few words to Harry.Harry looked drifting off and didn't know how much he was listening to.
Cedric sent Amy and Harry to the corridor, then said goodbye and left.Amy and Harry crawled into the common room one after the other.
"I should also send Qiu Zhang back to the Ravenclaw lounge." Harry said to Amy angrily.
"Oh," Amy narrowed her eyes, "I have to say, Harry, you do have to do some homework. Hermione and I will have a good chat with you tomorrow, but I must go to bed today, I'm so sleepy."
"Okay, good night."
"Good night."
