[HP] Complex Touch

Chapter 12 Ways to Stop Crying

"I'm going back to the Gryffindor common room!" Lily moaned, rummaging in her bag for something that wasn't there. "I promised Severus I'd bring him his book. But I'm not there, he'll be leaving…"

Lily gave Ginny a desperate look, and Ginny pretended not to see Lily's silent plea. She wasn't going to meet Snape alone. There's no way she's going to meet the murderer and try to have a civilized conversation with him while Lily goes to get a damn book.

"Ginny……"

Ginny was about to whine and stomp, and she narrowed her eyes at Lily.

"It's not fair," Ginny exclaimed. "I don't even like him."

"Thank you! I'll be back in a few minutes! He'll be under the willows by the lake, you know?"

Ginny nodded, turned and walked out of the porch. She heard Lily run up a few stairs and disappear in the direction of the Gryffindor common room. After Ginny finished her breakfast, Lily walked out of the Great Hall with her.Lily was explaining her potions homework to Ginny when she noticed she wasn't bringing the book that made things difficult.

Now, Ginny walked alone to the lake, to meet Snape. She sighed, brushed her hair back over her shoulders, and walked out the huge front door.It is now noon and the weather is warmer.A gentle breeze was blowing and the sun warmed the air.Ginny walked the playground for a few minutes before reaching the lake.

The sun's rays reflected off the water, and a lone figure sat under a willow tree.Ginny took a deep breath and walked on.She was brave, she was a Gryffindor, she could talk to Snape for a few minutes. But, deep down, Ginny knew, it wasn't going to work.Things can't be worked out.

Ginny walked up to Snape, she could have kicked him if she wanted to, and he looked up at her.He was dressed in black with his legs crossed at the ankles.Surprisingly, he looks quite elegant.Ginny pursed her lips at him, his dark eyes staring at her.

"What do you want?" Snape hissed.

Ginny shifted her weight from one foot to the other.Perhaps it was best for her to remain silent. When he realized she wasn't going to answer, he parted his mouth, showing crooked teeth.

"Represents the Hufflepuffs well, doesn't it?" Snape asked. "Sit down, please; I like silent fools staring at me."

Ginny's cheeks flushed, but she remained silent.Lily will be here soon...but it might take 10 minutes for Lily to go back to the Gryffindor common room and then go outside again. That was when Lily kept running without taking a break.

"Perhaps you have come to provoke a duel—"

"I came with Lily, you fool," Ginny cried.

Snape blinked and looked behind Ginny. His sarcasm made Ginny's blood boil.

"I didn't see Evans," he said slowly, as if she was being stupid.

Ginny smiled sweetly.

"How do your eyes feel?" Ginny asked. "After our fight, my hands hurt a little, and I'm concerned about your eyes. You don't have to go to the school hospital, do you?"

Snape sneered at her and stood up.

"Don't worry, Hufflepuff," Snape replied. "Your weak fist is like your weak mind. It does me no harm. A weak mind only hurts the person who possesses it."

She wanted to reach for the wand in her pocket, and she smiled at him, but she wasn't happy at all.

"You should know very well about feeble minds—"

"You should know not to meddle in other people's lives with your beautiful little head!" Snape called to her.

Ginny clenched her fists and her stomach clenched.

"Severus Snape, you're the only person I've ever known who wants to ruin other people's lives," Ginny cried. "I don't want to hear you lecture me!"

Snape didn't seem frightened, his face was expressionless, but there was a playful gleam in his black eyes.Ginny flew into a rage.

"Don't tell me you said the omission of Remus was an accident?" Ginny called.

He frowned and gave a smirk.

"Lupine? I don't care about Lupine." Snape shrugged.

"Liar," Ginny replied.

Her insult made his smirk disappear, and Ginny felt a little triumphant.

"He's a dark creature," said Snape, running his index and middle fingers to his chin. "He deserved that treatment and I have to keep it a secret, it's a disgrace."

Ginny grabbed her wand and pointed it at Snape. He also took out his wand and pointed it at her, and she wanted to control her emotions. He wasn't worth it...no point...it wouldn't fix anything...but she wanted to curse him.

"You're the dark creature!" Ginny said. "You're no match for Remus!"

Snape laughed loudly.

"What a loyal friend!" said Snape.

Ginny noticed that, despite the sarcasm in his voice, his grip on his wand tightened.

"I know what you're going to be," Ginny said suddenly, softly. "I know what you're going to do, and I hope you go to hell for it. You're going to be a lying coward, you're going to be a—"

"Hey!" came a sudden yell, but Ginny ignored it.

Snape didn't respond either, but stared at Ginny with blank eyes.

"You'd be a murderer," Ginny hissed. "Nobody loves you and it's all your fault."

"Ginny!"

Both Ginny and Snape lowered their wands, but his movements seemed more mechanical.Ginny turned her head slightly, seeing the marauders walking towards them. Her anger was rekindled when she saw Sirius, and she looked at Snape.

"Remember what I said."

She turned and walked towards the four boys.Apparently, they had come to rescue her.Her anger was boiling, and she felt her hands shaking. She walked straight past the four boys, but James blocked her way and grabbed her arm.She hissed free from his grasp.

"What's wrong!" Ginny exclaimed, glaring at him.

James looked shocked.

"Wow, what's up?" James asked, reaching out to touch her again.

She glared at him and took a few steps back.Remus stood behind James, looking as surprised as James.Sirius looked at Snape, who was still standing motionless under the willow tree, and then at Ginny.Peter watched this scene curiously.

"None of your business!" Ginny exclaimed. "We're not friends, are we, Sirius?"

Sirius' face fell slightly, and both James and Remus looked at him.She used the moment to walk away. She walked up the front stairs and ran into Lily head-on.Lily was smiling and out of breath, but when she saw Ginny, her smile disappeared.

"Hi? How—"

"I won't try to be his friend, Lily, don't ask me to do such a ridiculous thing again!" Ginny cried, passing Lily into the castle.

Ginny could not contain her anger; she was still shaking from the argument with Snape when she reached the second floor of Hogwarts.Ginny leaned against the wall cursing, her head in her hands. She didn't know how long she had been like this, thinking over and over of what Snape had said to her and her responses.

"Ginny?"

Ginny looked up and saw Dorcas' bright eyes.

"What are you doing?" Dorcas asked, laughing.

Ginny's lips trembled slightly, and Dorcas's smile turned to concern. She approached the red-haired girl and put her arms around her.Leaning into her friend's arms, Ginny wept.

"Ginny, what's the matter? Oh, Ginny," Dorcas said softly, trying to reassure her friend.

"Everything." Ginny sobbed. "I can't face..."
