Ginny woke up the next morning with a brilliant ray of sunlight falling on her eyes. She buried her face in the pillow, determined to sleep at least another hour, when she heard someone beside her sigh in sleep. It was only then that she realized that her bed wouldn't smell like a man's aftershave.

She opened her eyes cautiously, Draco still asleep beside her.Green sheets wrapped their bodies, concealing their ecstatic states, and the room smelled of sex.Good sex, lots of sex.Ginny remembered last night and suppressed a smile on her face.

Her mind returned to the man beside her, and she changed into a more comfortable position to look at him.He was lying on his back on the bed, his chest rising and falling slowly and steadily, the sheet wrapped around his waist. One long-fingered hand rested on his chest, and the other rested on the pillow above his head.He faced her, looking extra vulnerable in his deep sleep, his lips parted slightly, as if he had a question to ask.Unable to hold back her impulse, Ginny leaned down and gave him a tender and lingering kiss.

He blinked slightly, frowning in the sunlight. "Is it morning?" he asked in a low, hoarse voice.

"They call it morning when the sun comes up," she said.

"Shameless." He muttered, rubbing his eyes.

He was lying on his side on the bed, and Ginny leaned against his pillow, feeling suddenly and inexplicably shy. "Hi," she said softly.

He smiled sleepily at her. "Hi." He said softly. "How are you?"

"Everything is fine. How about you?"

"Me too. Why are we talking so quietly?"

"Don't know. Maybe it's because we hoarse last night?"

Draco raised his eyebrows and snickered loudly. "Only for yourself, Beasley. I should have known it was true what they said about the red hair."

Ginny giggled, then lay there watching him.Merlin, he is so handsome. His light hair, curled slightly on the pillow, contrasted sharply with her fiery red hair, and his eyes shone brightly in the morning light. She wished she could keep this moment forever so she could always remember that they were happy--truly happy, and the whole world and the responsibilities around it didn't matter.

He reached out and stroked her lips with his thumb. "Two pence for what you think at the moment," he murmured.

"Oh, are they worth that much now?"

"You know how it goes. The strength of the pound against the dollar or something."

She kissed his thumb. "I was thinking about us just now."

"I hope it's a good thing," he said with a smirk.

"Always a good thing."

"for example?"

She reached out, brushed the hair from his face, and watched it fall. "I was thinking, all these years I've been in London, you've been in London, we only met six weeks ago."

"The city is huge," he said. "We meet only when we are destined to meet."

"Then you believe in fate?"

He shrugged. "I think so. It's not that everything we do is predestined, but that there is some kind of power that makes things develop into the established results. Otherwise, how can I find the memory of the previous 20 years? A valid reason? Just say 'Damn it' and move on? That's not possible."

Ginny bit.If she wanted to tell him about his past without upsetting him, she needed to come into the subject slowly. He felt at ease with them. There may not be a better time than now. "Dr Walcott said the fugue state was triggered by emotional trauma," she said. "What do you think happened to you?"

He looked away, looking at the hands they held on the bed. "I think my parents died," he said softly. "It was very sudden and unexpected. I couldn't bear their passing or my grief, so I... just forgot."

"That makes sense."

"So I have to believe it was meant to be," he continued, his voice growing firmer. He raised his eyes to look at her, and Ginny felt that she was drowning in his clear eyes full of emotion. "I'm destined to lose my childhood and start over because I'm destined to be here and I'm destined to find you. If I don't believe that, what else is it?"

"I don't know." She murmured. After an awkward silence, she asked, "Do you—do you think you'll regain your pre-fugue memories?"

He thought about her question, stroking the back of her hand with his fingers. "No," he finally said. "So far, nothing reminds me of the past. I don't have the slightest feeling of déjà vu, and I don't dream of people I used to know - I have accepted the fact that my memory is gone forever."

"Then..." Ginny's voice trembled, she swallowed and continued. "You may have known me before you had dissociative fugue, but you'd never know."

"But it doesn't matter, because I didn't know you before," he said.He smiled at her affectionately, touching her lips and cheeks. "If you'd known me before, you'd have said it. And I don't think I'll ever forget you, no matter what happens."

He leaned down and kissed her on the lips, and Ginny's heart broke. He ran his fingers through her long hair, deepening the kiss, licking the inside of her lower lip with his tongue, and she whimpered.

He let go of her lips, his eyes deep. "But I have one more thing to tell you," he said. "Though I can't explain it at all."

"What are you talking about?" Ginny asked, her eyes wide.

"Look," he said.

Suddenly, a crime novel on his shelf charged at them, spinning itself.Ginny startled, but Draco grabbed it deftly with one hand and threw it on the bed between them.

"Not only do I have no memory, no past, no proper identity," he said. "I also have telekinesis. I can move objects with my thoughts."

Ginny stared at the book, her heart beating fast.Dear Merlin, he knows his strength. He thought he was doing Muggle mind tricks, but for years, he'd been performing wandless magic. There was no doubt about it then; if Draco had been using magic all this time without the Ministry of Magic finding out, it meant that someone around him was a registered wizard.

That means John is definitely a wizard.

"Damn it," she said softly.

"Simon said the same thing." Draco smiled coldly. "He happened to be there the first time I moved something. Late one night, I was making sandwiches for everyone and he threw the bread at me, but was weak. It flew straight into my hand from mid-air," he said. With a wave of his hand, the novel flew back to the bookshelf. "I'm sorry if this scares you."

"No, no—nothing," she said, but her heart still hadn't returned to normal. "Can you only move things, or can you do other things too?"

"Only moving things. But—don't tell anyone, okay? John and Simon know it, and the Walcotts know it, but I don't want everyone to know, and then I'm an anomaly, you understand? "

"Okay," she said. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. It was the opening line she needed to tell him everything. Thanks to Merlin, her wand was in the bag so she could show him when she told him about the wizarding world. "Ben, there's something—"

Downstairs came the sound of the front door closing, followed by a big yawn, and the shoe thumped to the floor. "You two better be decent!" John shouted from downstairs. "I really don't want to see you naked, Ben!"

"But I want to see Ginny naked!" Simon added. "Actually, I really want to see it!"

What a coincidence, Ginny complained. They are really punctual.

"That bastard is going to get kicked in the head one day," Draco said without bitterness. He kissed her one last time before rolling out of bed and picking up the clothes on the floor while Ginny reached for her bag and change of clothes.Draco pointed to the bathroom for her, and she went in to take a shower.

When she emerged from the shower and dressed 10 minutes later, the three of them were still chatting in the lobby. She watched John more carefully than ever before, hoping to spot the slightest evidence that he was a wizard. But he looked every bit as normal as Simon: he was wearing jeans and a Doctor Who T-shirt that said 'Are you my mum?', leather shoes and an England football lanyard peeking out of his pocket .She looked carefully at the legs of his jeans and the side of his shirt, but couldn't see the wand pocket.

"I don't like what you said about Ginny," Draco said bluntly to Simon.

"Oh, please, Benjamin," said Simon, spreading his arms. "You know it's just a joke, I love you like a brother to me."

Draco frowned, but only to hide the smile on his lips. "Okay," he said, and Simon hugged him hard.

"There's so much emotion in this room," Simon said, pretending to cry.

Draco smiled and let him go. "How's Julia? Haven't seen her for a long time."

"Well, I can tell she looks happier this morning." Simon blinked suggestively.

Draco rolled his eyes. "Look, Kim is going to work soon, I'll make breakfast."

"Yes, earn your room and board, Mr. Hamilton," said John.Draco made a rude gesture behind his back as he made his way to the kitchen, eliciting a snicker.

"I could eat an elephant," said Simon, following Draco into the kitchen.

Ginny thought quickly that she might only have a short time now to talk to John in private, so she reached out and grabbed his arm.He raised his eyebrows and looked at her. "We need to talk," she hissed. "I want to know if you—"

John smiled. "Nothing to talk about, Ginny," he said. "Keep doing what you're doing and everything will be fine. Just wait and see." He broke free from her hand and followed his roommate into the kitchen.

They kept joking with each other while Draco was cooking, so Ginny had to rush through her breakfast and pretend she had enough time to take the tube to work.Simon and John were still busy eating breakfast, and they said a cheerful "goodbye" to her, and Draco walked her out to the doorstep.

"Come to the restaurant on Friday," he said. They hugged each other's waist. "Not tonight because I'll be very busy when I get back in the kitchen and I'm training new waiters and orderers."

"Okay." She bit her lip and continued. "I have something important to tell you then, will you be working late?"

"No." He frowned and stroked her back. "Everything okay?"

"Fine." She forced herself to smile. "It's all—good, I'll tell you then, okay? Just something you need to know."

"I'll be all ears," he promised, leaning over to kiss her goodbye.Every kiss was like a first, that tender, innocent first kiss in front of her apartment—full of surprise and novelty, far deeper than Ginny had imagined. It doesn't get any better than this.

"Good job," she said, their foreheads pressed together.

"You too," he said. "I love you, Ginny."

Clearly, she's been wrong all along. She already knew he loved her, as anyone who met them would know, but it was indescribable that he actually said those words. She couldn't help laughing, and kissed him happily again. "I love you," she whispered, and he smiled and kissed her a third time.

"Let's go, or we don't have to go to work today." He said. She let him go, smiling, and walked down the front steps. She went out into the street and turned to wave him goodbye; he waved back.

As she walked, her feet probably didn't touch the ground, and the sound of nearby vehicles probably didn't reach her as she went over and over what he said.he loves her.He really loves her.Ginny smiled at the oncoming people, happy for the world and everything in it.She'll tell him about his past on Friday, and he might be sad, but they'll be fine, because he loves her and she loves him—

Suddenly someone grabbed her by the elbow and pulled her out of her reverie, and Ginny turned away in bewilderment.

Ron stood behind her, panting.

From his expression, Ginny knew that he had seen all he needed to see.
