[HP Doujin] 1943

Chapter 10 to Hogwarts

I returned to Hogwarts from St. Mungo's in May 1944, just in time for the last month before the OWLs.

The first week after school started, every day was full of rain and snow.Gryffindor had beaten Slytherin in their last match, and Tony insisted that Ravenclaw train in this weather to prepare for their match against Gryffindor a month later. At dinner on Friday, Tony sat down next to me in his best Quidditch suit, followed by half a dozen mud-covered, whining Ravenclaws.

His hair was blown out like weeds, and there were snowflakes on his eyebrows. He looked famished and forked two potato and chicken pies onto his plate.I pretended I didn't see him, and continued to spin a glass of pumpkin juice in front of my wand, reading the Daily Prophet, with the headline that Bristol found Grindelwald's follower—"The news came out, It immediately triggered panic among the public about whether Grindelwald's forces had invaded Britain..."

I glanced over at the Slytherin through the glass.Tom Riddle sat alone at the end of the table drinking his porridge.Sylvia and Abraxas Malfoy sat diagonally across from him. There was a large roll of parchment on a silver platter, and they were engaged in a discussion.

I feel like my brain isn't working as well since I got back from the hospital.I often think about something one second and forget it the next second.I just turned to Tony, opened my mouth, and forgot what I wanted to say.

Tony's mouth was full of mashed potatoes. He took a gulp of pumpkin juice, swallowed the food in his mouth, and said, "When are you going to talk to me about your illness?"

I shrugged: "Didn't you say I was poisoned by food?"

Tony took a big bite out of the chicken pot pie, added a spoonful of the stew to the bowl, and mumbled, "Do I look like a fool?"

I lazily twirled my pumpkin juice with my wand, and said angrily, "If you ask me this question again, I'll pour pumpkin juice on your head."

"Who would believe that food poisoning should go to St. Mungo's for two weeks?"

I moved my glass over his head and poured a cup of pumpkin juice all over his hair. The orange liquid drenched his hair, dripped down his face and onto his neck and robes, looking horrible. He roared angrily and jumped up, and the Ravenclaw team sitting next to us burst out laughing at the sight of him.

"Well done, Lizzie!" whistled Seeker David Stord.

"I'm a prefect!" he yelled at me, "Elizabeth, I can put you in detention!"

I picked up my schoolbag and left the table, made a face at him, and walked away.

I had hardly reached the marble staircase when Tom Riddle came after me.He has approached me several times since my return, but I have avoided it each time. The last person in the world I want to see is him.

Realizing he was right behind me, I quickened my pace and stormed upstairs.

"Elizabeth," he caught up with me at the corner and called my name, "I've always wanted to ask you something."

"Go away," I said through my teeth, flung open a door disguised as a tapestry on the wall, and took a short cut to the Ravenclaw Tower.

"Why did you go to St. Mungo's? Did Dumbledore visit you?"

I turned around, drew my wand and cast a Limplegs Charm on him, and he disarmed me halfway through the spell. He caught my wand flying into the air and looked at me with a smirk.

"Give it back to me!" I said stomping my foot.

"Come and get it." He held my wand high.

I jumped up and down beside him, but I just couldn't hold it, my face was flushed with anger, but there was nothing I could do.

"Elizabeth," he asked calmly, looking down at me, "Sylvia visited you before you passed out. What did she say to you?"

"Give me my fucking wand."

He raised my wand even higher.

I looked at him, took a deep breath, and said, "If you don't give it to me, I'll—"

"What do you want?" He smiled maliciously. "You don't even have a wand."

"I'll cry for you!" I said loudly.I'm not kidding, I just raised my head and started howling as soon as I finished speaking. The stairs were full of people returning to the common room after dinner. Up and down.

I cried with tears and snot all over my face, and my whole body twitched. Several people stopped in amazement.Tom didn't expect that I would really cry. He looked around and said angrily, "Okay, please lower your voice, others will think I'm bullying you."

"You're bullying me!" I howled and stomped my feet, "Tom Riddle stole my wand!" I yelled, and more people stopped to watch.

There was nothing he could do with me, so he stuffed my wand into my robe pocket.I took my wand and pointed it at him with lightning speed: "Tarantella dance!"

Caught off guard, he let out a curse, his legs twitched, and he began to tap dance in place. All the students watching around started to laugh wildly.I wiped my tears with my sleeve, stopped crying instantly, raised my chin, smiled at him, then turned and ran away quickly.

The homework in the last month of fifth grade was extremely heavy, and while I continued to avoid him, I also had to spend a lot of time studying. One night, I was working on my thesis in the library until nine o'clock. On the way back to the dormitory, I found him following me again.

"What do you want?" I turned angrily, throwing my hair behind my shoulders.

"I want to talk to you," he said, standing two steps down, looking up at me, "Elizabeth, just tell me why I fainted, and what Sylvia said to you, and I promise I'll talk to you later." I don't bother you either."

I was silent for a long time, and he looked at me patiently.

"What are you worried about?" I said sarcastically.

"Nothing," he said quickly.

"You don't need to worry about me," I said coldly. "I wish you and Sylvia a happy life together."

As soon as I said this, I regretted it.With his IQ, he must have guessed everything that happened.

He froze, and I ran up the stairs trembling all over. I didn't pay attention for a while, and forgot to jump over that tricky step, and my right foot got stuck in it.

I cursed and looked around in vain, but there was no one in the school corridor at nine o'clock at night except Tom standing behind me.

I heard his footsteps approaching step by step. With every step he took, the air seemed to grow a degree colder.I closed my eyes and smelled the familiar and long-lost smell of ink and wood.

Tom walked up to me, squatted down on one knee, looked at me sharply with a pair of bottomless black eyes, his expression was cold, and the corners of his mouth were tense.

"What did you just say?" His tone was calm, and a storm slowly gathered in his eyes.

I turned my head away from him.

"What did you just say?!" He repeated, almost yelling, a little out of control.I was so scared that I trembled all over, and tears welled up all at once. This time I was really fucking scared by him and cried instead of pretending to cry like last time.

I tried not to let the tears fall, bit my lip, and stubbornly remained silent.

"Who's there?" An old voice suddenly sounded at the end of the corridor.I've never been so happy to see Dumbledore, he almost saved my life.

Tom frowned, grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the stuck stairs. When he turned to Dumbledore, a polite and calm expression had settled on his face.

"Sir, I met Elizabeth on my way out of the library," he said politely. "She got stuck in the stairs."

Dumbledore nodded, and I could see that his expression was very serious, even a slight suspicion. His blue eyes moved from Riddle's face to mine.I nodded to him without saying a word.I knew that if I had spoken at that time, my voice would have trembled like a sieve.

"It's getting late, go back to the dormitory quickly, you two." Professor Dumbledore said, "Pay attention to rest."

"Okay, sir," said Tom, in a voice so calm that no one could tell he had been questioning me coldly and furiously the previous minute.

I thought Dumbledore would continue to question me after he walked away. But he just glanced at me with an extremely cold expression, and left without saying a word.I stood there, trembling all over, watching his tall back disappear into the dark corridor, my heart became a little bit cold.

He knows that I have regained my memory.Although I don't know why, I know he is very angry.
