Grace pulled the brim of her hat to cover her face, as if she was about to enter a nearby store.

The patrolling soldiers ran past her, and she pretended to be no different from ordinary passers-by, fearing and repelling these soldiers.

She watched the soldiers gradually go away, looked around again, and after making sure that no one was paying attention to her, she followed quickly.

Grace observed the direction where the soldiers were rushing, and thought about whether Batman had said where he was going these days, feeling a little worried.

The direction the soldiers are going in does coincide with where Batman is going.

She tried to contact Batman, but no one answered.

Grace frowned slightly, and contacted Alfred who was still in the Batcave while walking quickly.

"Miss Louisa?" The voice of the old butler came from the communicator.

Grace lowered her voice and said, "Alfred, Batman may be in danger, I'll go get him."

"I understand." Maybe this happened too many times, the old housekeeper acted calmly, "Miss Louisa, please be careful, if there is any danger, please contact me immediately."

"Understood," Grace stopped, and she saw soldiers surrounding a residential building, "Is Damian in Gotham?"

"Do you want to contact Master Damian?" Alfred asked.

Grace turned her back on the group of soldiers and entered another residential building and entered the stairwell.

"If I don't save Batman, it's just him." She took the pistol/gun out of her bag and counted the magazines.

"Miss Louisa, please don't..." Alfred spoke anxiously, but was interrupted by Grace.

"Alfred, I won't be brave," she said soothingly, "There are still so many people in my world waiting for me to go back."

Grace said softly, "I won't die here."

Grace hung up the communicator and started running up quickly.

She went all the way to the top floor without stopping. The door to the roof was locked, but the lock was in a state of disrepair. Grace slammed it twice with the butt of the gun and it broke.

She walked to the edge of the roof to check the situation below. The soldiers had completely surrounded the place below and were about to break in.

This number is really bad.

Grace sighed helplessly in her heart, and began to turn around and walk back.

She vacated enough distance, accelerated the run-up with all her strength, and suddenly jumped onto the opposite rooftop.

Borrowing momentum by rolling, Grace stood up and moved to the edge to look down.

Nobody noticed her, all their attention was on Batman.

Grace looked up at the sky, there was already a helicopter flying over not far away, and soon the rooftop would not be a good way to escape.

Holding the gun in her hand, she cautiously entered the interior of the residential building.

I don't know how many people live here, but Grace can be sure that some rooms have probably been abandoned for a long time.

There are only four rooms on the first floor. The doors of some rooms have disappeared, and some still seem to be inhabited.

But Grace doesn't think Batman is hiding in a room with people.

Based on what she knew about Batman, the odds were high that he'd head to the basement.

Grace turned around and went back to the stairwell. She knew that in a few minutes, people would come down from above.

Because of the grim situation in this world, even if Grace just goes out to buy some daily necessities, she will bring certain weapons to ensure that she will not encounter any troubles and cannot resist.

Except for the necessary pistols and daggers, she only has a few small bombs.

Although the amount is small, it is enough to make a simple trap.

Grace kept one bomb in case she needed it, and the other bombs were used as traps.

She observed the structure of the top floor and began to act.

This simple trap didn't take Grace much time, and she could already hear the rumble of the helicopter.

Grace ran down the stairs without hesitation. It is estimated that in a few minutes, the soldiers who came in would suffer.

This apartment has eight floors. When she reached the fourth floor, she heard a loud noise from upstairs.

"What the hell happened! Did Batman escape upstairs?!"

Grace hid inside the floor, listening to the chaotic footsteps of soldiers running in the stairwell outside.

After a group of people dispersed, she ran out again, running down quickly.

She didn't meet other soldiers along the way, but there were quite a few people guarding the first floor.

Grace squatted at the stairs on the second floor and looked down. There were two soldiers guarding the first floor, and others were patrolling.

Although the total number of people is not large, as long as she uses the gun, everyone will be attracted.

She squinted her eyes and inserted the gun back into the pouch.

"Sir, this place seems to have been moved." Grace heard a soldier shout suddenly.

She couldn't see that direction, but she could hear their conversation.

After the sound of something being dragged, the soldiers' conversation continued.

"There is actually a basement here, open it and have a look!"

Grace saw a soldier at the stairs move and was called by her superiors.

She knows now is the time to move.

Grace ran down briskly and hid in the doorway of the stairwell.

Everyone had their backs to her, but there were soldiers outside the apartment building.

Grace knew this was her only chance.

She rushed out, covered his mouth while the soldier was shouting, and slashed his neck with a knife.

The soldier's body softened suddenly, and Grace dragged him into the stairwell, took off his clothes and put them on her body.

Fortunately, Grace is tall, so it doesn't look too out of place to wear.

She picked up the soldier's gun and walked towards the other soldiers.

Two soldiers stood at the entrance to the basement, and the others had already gone down.

"Huh? Didn't I ask you to guard the stairs, why... um!"

Grace raised the machine gun sharply, and smashed the soldier's head fiercely and quickly.

The other soldier was so startled that he immediately raised his gun and was ready to shoot, the real pain and darkness that awaited him.

Grace didn't dare to hesitate, and went straight down to the basement.

The light in the basement is very dim, there are sundries everywhere, and the space is not large. It seems to be a storage room in this building, but it is probably used by the administrator and has nothing to do with the residents.

She could hear the footsteps of her predecessors, Grace was holding a gun, and she would not be soft if necessary.

It won't take long for the soldiers upstairs to start turning back.

If you don't leave this basement now, you will be really trapped.

"what!"

Grace heard the screams of soldiers ahead.

It seemed as if something existed, but she was relieved.

"Quick, get out and notify the higher-ups!"

Running towards her, Grace hid behind a pile of debris and held out her machine gun just as the soldiers were about to pass.

Because of the momentum of running, the soldier was directly knocked down by the machine gun.

"Hello." She smiled and smashed the butt of the gun.

Grace ignored the unconscious soldiers on the ground, and ran forward a few steps, seeing that all other soldiers had passed out.

And the man standing there about to become one with the darkness.

"Are you okay?" She walked over quickly.

"Why are you here?" Batman didn't approach her.

Grace got used to his dodging, and replied, "I heard you were trapped, so I came to help you."

"You shouldn't... come."

Listening to him, Grace frowned slightly: "Batman, what's wrong with you, your voice doesn't sound right."

"I'm fine." He replied seemingly ordinary.

Grace, however, would not listen to his lies, and walked directly to his side, pulling off his cloak.

"OMG..." She gasped.

Under the cloak, the soft armor of Batman's right waist was torn, sticking together with flesh and blood. Even in the dim environment, it could be seen how badly he was injured.

Just by looking at it, you can tell that it was bombed/bombed.

"What the hell are you doing?" Grace looked up at him worriedly, "Is this okay?"

Batman was caught off guard by Grace's emerald green eyes, which had a look he was familiar with.

He couldn't help taking a step back, she was too close.

"No, we have to get out right away." Grace frowned.

"Do you still have bombs?" she asked hopelessly.

Batman shook his head and said, "It was used up before."

She knew it.

Otherwise, this person would have blown up the ground and escaped from somewhere.

Grace saw the radio that had fallen to the ground.

"I'm going to lure people away temporarily. You go up, don't go to the top floor, I blew up the top floor."

"Using the sling from the room on the fifth or sixth floor to other buildings, I think it will be fine for you."

After speaking, Grace picked up the intercom, ready to do something.

"No." Batman grabbed her arm.

"You can't take risks." He said in a deep voice.

Grace turned her head and looked over, and said seriously: "You can't die, and neither can I."

"I'm going back," she said, taking Batman's hand away again, "so don't be pretentious, Bruce."

"Go." Grace started to walk out.

Batman looked at her back and followed her with lowered eyes.

Batman knows that the man who went before him will never be his wife, and his wife will never come back.

But if only Grace looked a little less like her.

Just be less resemblance, and he won't see her through Grace.

To give him the illusion that his Grace is still alive.
