In the history of our country's weapons and equipment, there have been many unreliable weapons, such as tanks weighing more than 1000 tons and giant humanoid robots over 20 meters in height.These weapons, in the end, stayed at the drawing stage, and did not even enter the verification stage.Why is it that such a seemingly powerful weapon is stillborn in the end?

Take super tanks as an example, 1000-ton giant tanks that can be equipped with many formidable weapons and impenetrable armor.The designer hopes that such a weapon can be as powerful as a battleship on land.

The same goes for giant humanoid robots.It appears that simulating our bodies could make devices as versatile as our own weapons.At the same time, two legs can adapt to complex terrain better than crawlers.

Neither of the above two devices has reached the verification machine stage. In the end, only game and movie makers took a fancy to their visual impact and put them on the screen.

For such equipment, there are too many places worthy of criticism.The most concentrated are material, weight and energy consumption issues.The super strong materials they need can be used in other places where they are more needed, or other places that can produce the same effect do not require such strong materials.The problem of its own weight not only reduces the environment that can be used for activities, but also is not suitable for our current space war.Although the problem of energy consumption is not so fatal, after all, we now have a lot of energy, which can indeed support the operation of such weapons, but it is the same as the problem of materials, although we have a lot of energy, there is not a single joule that is superfluous.No matter how much energy there is, it doesn't mean that it can be wasted at will.

However, behind these problems, I think there is another very important problem that has been overlooked, and I think this problem is the root cause of such unreliable weapons.That's when developing these unreliable weapons, we have no idea about the strike chain at all.These weapons are obtained by amplifying the existing equipment according to the original combat layout.In military theory, there was no progress at all.

Taking super tanks as an example, this is just an enlarged version of ordinary tanks when the three elements of tanks, namely firepower, protection, and mobility are coordinated.The same goes for giant humanoid robots, but they are scaled-up versions of normal infantry.

What are the internal laws governing the operation of the armed forces?This is what I want to talk about today.

In fact, whether it is the combat behavior of the army or our usual production behavior, it is the behavior of the behavior subject to consciously transform the environment in which he lives.Among them, there must be three processes of collecting environmental information, actively processing information, and executing processing results.Specific to the army, we can call it the three processes of reconnaissance, command, and attack.And these three links are connected successively in time, which is the strike chain.

Reconnaissance is the collection of information on enemy targets.To direct is to make a judgment on the information collected.Attack, that is, the result of executing a process, for combat operations, this is often the target of fire.

The same is true for enemy personnel.When people do things, they also implement these three rules.

At this point, we can draw two important conclusions:

First, our defense does not necessarily have to focus on the enemy's third step. In fact, we should start from scratch so that the enemy's first step cannot go out.Once upon a time, there was a very famous novel called "Swordsman".There is a very brilliant sword technique called Dugu Nine Swords.According to the attack chain theory, the Dugu Nine Swords will reach the third step when the enemy has completed the second step and has not yet taken the third step.But now we have to go one step further, to prevent the enemy from taking the first step.

Second, no one stipulates that the three major links must be arranged on one entity, or a weapon or a combat unit.Specifically, some units can be responsible for investigation, some units can be responsible for command, and some combat units can be responsible for attack.It can be a division of labor and cooperation, rather than an all-inclusive one.Here, we can call the so-called all-inclusive one the strike chain macro-integrated layout, while the division of labor is called the logical integrated layout.Because the various units of division of labor and cooperation are not physically connected, but have a close cooperative relationship.

Now we are using these two items to analyze the two unreliable weapons mentioned earlier.We will find that these two weapons, in terms of defense, both make a fuss about the enemy's third step.In terms of the strike chain layout, it adopts a macro-integrated layout, and it is a very extreme one.In fact, almost all those who hold a single weapon to conquer the world have a macro-integrated layout.

So which is better, macro integration or logical integration layout?

The advantage of macro-integration is that it can make the connection between the three links very reliable.But the disadvantage is that because it needs to be arranged on one entity, the three major links will constrain each other.Logical integration is just the opposite.

Therefore, my opinion is that we need both a macro-integrated layout and a logically-integrated layout.Overall, we should have a logically integrated layout, and individually, we should have a macro-integrated layout.Excessive emphasis on logical integration will lead to a large number of the entire system. Although each link itself operates efficiently, the overall operating efficiency will be low due to the need for multiple forwarding of information; excessive emphasis on macro integration will cause a single individual to expand rapidly, and The intensification of the contradictions in the three links will also make the overall efficiency low.

Seeing this, we will find that, having said so much, the so-called strike chain theory, firepower and its long-range delivery capability are the premise, but the core is information.It is information that connects the three links into one.Similarly, the three major links also operate around the core of information.Therefore, advances in the means of information transmission will ultimately determine how we will grasp the boundary between the two integrated layouts.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the internal laws of the three major links.Let's take a look below.

The first is scouting.Reconnaissance, the process of gathering information.This is the first step in the attack, and only by collecting enough information can the subsequent actions be accurate.Please note that what we have said is the same for the enemy, so whatever you do, take into account that the enemy will do the same.Therefore, when scouting, you must also consider preventing the enemy from scouting you.

Why can we perceive the existence of a specific objective thing?Because the world is universally connected, and we perceive its existence by perceiving the impact of a specific objective thing on the environment.In other words, if a thing wants to hide itself, the best way is to reduce its various influences on the surrounding environment.

Taking vision as an example, we see the things around us because they reflect the light that should travel in a straight line, and these reflected light is received by our eyes, so that we perceive the things around us.What if the presence of something nearby doesn't change the path of light?Stealth systems were invented accordingly.

According to this method, we can divide the investigation into two types: active and passive.

In view of the advantages and disadvantages of the above two investigation methods, another compromise has emerged.We can call it a semi-active detection method.That is, changing the environment and collecting information are placed on different entities.And there is no necessary positional relationship between these two entities.Taking the black room just now as an example, we found a switch outside the room and turned on the lighting equipment of the room itself.The location of this lighting device has nothing to do with our own location.In this way, although the units that change the environment are exposed, at least half of us are hidden, which can be regarded as a compromise.

Then there is command.Command, the unit that processes information.The information collected by the investigation unit will be passed here.And this kind of treatment is not a simple mechanized treatment, but an active one.This is the unique ability of intelligent life.Therefore, those in charge, according to national laws, must have citizenship rights and be able to enjoy the treatment of ordinary citizens.Only those who agree with our society can fundamentally use their initiative for things that are beneficial to society.It is also because of this that the command unit is the core of combat operations and the unit that most needs to ensure safety.At the same time, in theory, this is also the easiest unit to ensure safety.Because this unit, like a passive scouting unit, doesn't fundamentally require environmental impact.Therefore, it can be arranged in a secret and safe place.

Under the conditions of modern warfare, the command units are all arranged behind the scenes.Use remote control warfare to conduct command operations.At the same time, with the improvement of information transmission technology, new technologies such as quantum communication technology and neutrino communication technology have been widely applied.The future of the command unit is more optimistic.
