Chapter 4 Letter from Hogwarts and the escape of the Dursleys

Time passed quickly, and in the summer when Rey was 11 years old, he received a letter from Hogwarts.

That morning, Ray went to get the letter as usual.

There were three pieces of mail lying quietly on the mat at the door, one was a postcard from Aunt Maggie, Uncle Vernon's sister, the other was last month's bills; the last one was for Ray.

When Rey saw his name on the envelope, he was slightly surprised at first.

Due to certain factors in his previous life, Rey had been educated at home.

His life since he was a child was nothing but learning, which led to his poor social skills.

It's not that Rey never thought about making friends, but boys at this age are naive. They worship heroes and like to play warrior games.

Even if Rey wanted to join them, the boys would reject him, it would be too unheroic for these little guys to play games with girls.

And girls... little girls in their teens, Rey really doesn't know how to deal with them.So apart from Dali, he has no other friends.

But soon Rey knew where the letter came from, because the envelope was made of heavy parchment, and most people would not use parchment at all.

From Miss Abigail Potter, 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

The address was written in emerald green ink, without a stamp.Rey turned the envelope over, and a coat of arms appeared in front of him. A large "H" letter covered half of the entire wax seal, surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger and A snake - this is a letter from Hogwarts.

Just as Rey was considering whether to let Penny know of the existence of the letter, Daly took the letter from him.

"Hey! Who wrote it to you?"

The 11-year-old Dali has grown into a lovely boy. Although he looks a bit strong, he is not obese as described in the book.

His facial features were very similar to Vernon's, not handsome, but very attractive, especially those watery blue eyes, which added a lot of color to a slightly ordinary face.

Dali looked at the letter in his hand, a trace of displeasure flashed in his eyes.He knew that Abby didn't get along well with girls.Because of her beauty, she is often rejected by the girls around her.As for those boys, Dali gritted his teeth secretly, he had clearly warned those boys not to take Abby's idea.

"Do you need to take it apart?"

Rey just didn't know what to do with the letter, and he nodded obediently when he heard Dali's words. This immediately sublimated Dali's original dissatisfaction.

Although Dali's temper was a bit violent, he still hated this cousin who followed him since he was a child. In his opinion, his cousin has been cute and cute since she was a child, and she didn't know to come to him when she was bullied at school. This made him a little worried, fearing that one day this cousin would be kidnapped by bad guys.

After reading it, Dali raised his eyebrows, and threw the letter back to Rey, "It's probably someone playing a prank. I'll find out who it is...Hmph!"

Rey didn't answer him. After putting the letter back in his pocket, he took Dali into the restaurant together and handed the bill and postcard to Vernon.

At the dinner table, Dali didn't mention this matter to Petunia and Vernon, which made him somewhat relieved.

At night, Rey lay on his little bed, holding the letter in a daze.Almost every boy has a dream of being a hero, and Rey is no exception.

Although he no longer aspires to be a hero, he still needs strength.

He was excited the moment he received the letter. Wizards, magic, these mysterious powers and the unknown world are too attractive.

But only for a moment.

Rey, who has read the books and movies, knows that his current identity is not safe.Whether it was Voldemort or Dumbledore, the greatest white mage known as the end of the century, they were all staring at him.The former wants to kill him, the latter needs him. They couldn't keep him out of it.

But what would the Dursleys think?

Rey was grateful to them. He had lived with the Dursleys for nearly 10 years. During these 10 years, they took care of him and provided him with a place of refuge when he was alone.

Everyone who lived in the neighborhood knew that his parents had died in a car accident, and that was why he was being fostered with the Dursleys.

For this reason, he was often bullied by the children around him when he was a child. Rey didn't want to care about those children, and the most important thing was that he couldn't cause trouble for the Dursleys. It's Dali!It was Dali who had been protecting him, driving away those children who bullied him,

He knew that he would definitely go to Hogwarts, this was no longer something he could decide, and the Dursleys... Thinking of this, Rey's eyes dimmed slightly.

Three days after receiving that letter, what Ray feared happened.Petunia found those letters, and she looked at him with panic and fear in her eyes.

In the next few days, the Dursleys could receive letters from the owls to Rey every day.

Although Penny didn't say anything, Rey knew that some gaps had begun to arise. She no longer let him go near the letter box, and every morning she went to get the letters herself, and then burned them.

"Abby, did that letter really come from a school of magic? Does a school of wizards really exist?" Dali huddled on Rey's crib, holding his hand, his voice full of anxiety.

Dali felt that the atmosphere at home was very strange recently, his mother was always nervous, and he often saw her burning some letters.

Dali recognized the strange totem on the back of the envelope, no doubt it was addressed to Abby. Why did mom burn Abby's letter? She wouldn't be so nervous if it was just a prank.

During Petunia's series of actions, he began to doubt the authenticity of those letters. Does the wizarding world really exist?

"Yes." Rey sighed inwardly.

"Why did mom burn those letters?? Are you really going to that school for wizards?? Are you leaving us???" Rey's answer didn't make Dali feel better, but the anxiety in his heart became more strong.

"Dada, I'll be back when I'm on vacation." Rey hugged Dali, trying to calm him down.

As long as Dali can remember, Abby has been around him. They have lived together for nearly 10 years. For Dali, Abby is his family.

He imagined that they would go to the same school, have girlfriends and girlfriends, and start families of their own. There is no never-ending feast in the world, he knew that they would part, but he never thought that she would leave this house so early.

"If you don't go to Smelting Middle School with me, then I'll go to that magic school with you."

After making sure that Abby would not leave, he was relieved that it didn't matter to Daly whether he went to Smelting or not.The important thing is to be in the same school as Abby. If she doesn't go to Smelting Middle School, then he can go to the magic school instead.

Rey didn't know how to answer Dali. In the original book, Penny fell out with Lily because of this matter.

Dali usually looks domineering, but in fact he is very simple. He likes Dali very much, and he doesn’t want to have a gap with him. In his nearly 10 years of life, not only Dali, but also Ray treats him as his own brother. .

"Can't I go? I can't go to that school for wizards, right?" Rey's silence made Dali realize that he might not be able to go to that school.

Dali is not stupid, in fact he is very smart. He always knew that Abby was different from himself. When he was 5 years old, he almost got into a car accident because of his playfulness. It was Abby who was sneaking behind him and pushed him away.

Dali saw with his own eyes that she was thrown 1 meter away by the car, but she did not suffer any injuries.Dali didn't tell anyone about this, he vaguely felt that his parents would not be happy to know such a thing.

"You're so stupid, you'll definitely be bullied if I'm not by your side." Dali hugged Rey tightly, his voice already starting to choke.

Rey didn't speak but patted Dali's back lightly until he gradually fell asleep.

In the end, Vernon and Petunia decided to move. The large number of owls staying near the Dursley's house had already made the neighbors suspicious, and it was the letters that rushed into the chimney and the cracks in the door that finally led them to make up their minds.

Rey knew that wherever they fled, Dumbledore would find him.But Penny and the others didn't know, and Rey could only watch their increasingly haggard expressions and tense nerves.

When they received nearly 100 letters in the hotel on the outskirts of the city, Vernon finally decided to take them to a dilapidated hut on a rock in the middle of the sea.

A toothless, old-looking man took them to the reef in a battered rowboat.

This is a small building similar to those in horror movies. After they entered the house, they realized that the situation outside the house was not the scariest. The whole house was filled with a strong smell of seaweed, the cold wind was blowing in through the gaps in the wooden walls, and there was nothing in the fireplace, which was damp.

Because they left in a hurry, each person had only one bag of potato chips and four bananas for dinner.

After nightfall, storms hit them from all directions. The rolling waves beat against the walls of the cabin, and the raging wind rattled the filthy windows.

Petunia found some moldy quilts from another room and made a bed for Dudley and Ray on the moth-eaten sofa. She and Vernon slept next door in a bumpy, bumpy bed.

Dali fell asleep not long after lying down. He was exhausted today.

Wrapped in a quilt, Rey quietly leaned on the sofa and looked at the watch in his hand. In a few minutes, he will be 11 years old.

July 7st - Nobody knew it was actually Ray's own birthday, Redmond von Brees' birthday.

When the pointer pointed to 12 o'clock, a dark current flashed quickly in those green eyes.

"Happy 24th birthday...Rey..." A faint voice sounded in the room, but it was so light that it was just an illusion.
