demon godfather

Chapter 52 Shelter

The nun called a figure who looked like the manager of the casino, and simply told him to look around the store, and then, led by Chris, left the casino and went up to the first floor along the narrow and steep stairs (and obviously the fire facilities were not qualified). The people in the nightclub were busy dancing with demons, and no one paid any attention to them. Even if someone saw a lady wearing a nun's costume walking through the crowd, they didn't show a surprised expression.

"Chris... have you really been trained here?" Dominic asked in a low voice.

"Of course. When I was in high school, I used to come and train every holiday."

"What? You were still underage at that time! How could they let you into this kind of place!"

"Yeah, so I never used the front door before."

"So you've liked 'going through the back door' since then?" Dominique teased.

Chris glanced at the nun quickly out of the corner of his eye, making sure he couldn't see himself from her angle, and reached out to pat Dominique's ass.

"Be serious!" he said.

"It's obviously you who is not serious!"

They walked out the front door of the nightclub, and the people (men especially) who were still in line at the door whistled and booed at the nun.The nun blew a kiss to them: "Peace be in the Lord, you lovely little lambs." The crowd booed even louder.

Dominic got goosebumps all over his body. What a cute little lamb, he is obviously a big fat sheep who gives money to nightclubs and casinos! The nun really can tell nonsense with her eyes open!

"We put the black ship model on the car, over there." Chris pointed the way.

"Is there a guard in the car?" asked the nun.

Chris pouted, indicating "no".The nun stared at him reproachfully: "How dare you! What if it was stolen?"

"We hid it well. And I'm afraid not many people would want to steal such a huge thing."

"That's not necessarily the case. It has the power of the Famine Knight. Under the influence of that power, perhaps anyone is willing to take risks for it."

They entered a dark alley, far from the main road, it looked dirty and shabby.A few flamboyantly dressed women were smoking in the alley. When they saw Chris approaching, they all took a step forward and looked inquiringly, but when they saw the nun following behind Chris, they said nothing. retreated into the darkness.

Dominique clutched Chris' arm tightly, nervously avoiding the foxy eyes of those women.

"This place is really dangerous! You have been trained in such a dangerous place!"

"The most dangerous place is the safest place."

"...It doesn't seem to be the case!"

Go through the alley, walk down from a dark hole, and you will arrive at the underground parking lot.It took Chris a lot of talking and paying several bills to convince the parking lot attendants to let them park the truck.Their truck stood out against the rows of sleeping steel behemoths. The pile of straw on the cart made it appear nondescript. It stands to reason that they should find a more secluded place, but time is tight, and there is no time to think about it so much, so they have to make do with it.

"The model ship is on the car?" the nun asked.

"Yes."

They walked towards the truck, and suddenly something moved in the shadow beside the truck—it was a person who had been sticking to the side of the truck, as if spying on the strange cargo on the truck.Hearing the sound of approaching footsteps, the man was short and quickly disappeared behind the row of cars.

"Who's there?!" Dominic chased after him, but the man was nowhere to be seen.

"Do you want to catch up?" Chris asked the nun for advice.

"That person must have been peeping at the cargo on the car just now!" Dominic vowed, and even lifted the straw to look underneath to make sure that the model ship was safe and sound.

The nun looked worriedly into the depths of the parking lot.It is quite easy to sneak out under the cover of many vehicles here, and even hiding here may not be difficult. "No need." She said, "Since the goods are not lost, let him go. The black ship is like a blooming flower, it will always attract bees and butterflies, even if it is hidden."

"Then what should we do with it? Is there a way to destroy it?"

"The model contains the power of 'famine', so ordinary physical means cannot destroy it, but I can try non-physical means."

"Uh... Please tell me what is 'non-physical means'?" Dominic raised his hand like a student asking a question in class.

"Just use magic." Chris replied for the nun.

"Is there such a spell?!"

"You have to try. I happen to have a spell here, and it may work." The nun said, "But it will take a while to prepare the spell. During this period, the model ship cannot be left alone, or the consequences will be disastrous." She told Ke Reese gestured, "Give me the car keys."

"You're going to put it in the 'storage'?" Chris handed over the key.The nun got in the car and drove the car herself, Chris sat in the passenger seat, and Dominic could only squeeze between them pitifully. ("If you don't want to, you can sit on the straw in the back," says Chris.)

As they pulled out of the parking lot, the nun stopped to pay the parking fee.The parking lot attendant scanned the entire car with surprised eyes: "Do you have a driver's license, nun? I never knew you could drive."

"What do you think I usually use for transportation? Angel wings?" The nun rolled up a banknote and threw it at the administrator. "By the way, did anyone sneak out of the parking lot just now? ?”

"Yes! Come in sneakily and go out in a hurry, exactly what you said."

The nun turned to Chris and Dominic who were huddled beside her: "It seems that he is the one who spied on the cargo on the car just now. He escaped through another exit."

"I know that guy!" the administrator said, as if taking credit. "He works in a nearby store. Sometimes I run into him. His name is... Vince or something?"

"Vincent," said the nun, "I remember when you said that. He once applied for a waiter in my store, but I didn't recruit him. I think he... has some unhealthy eccentricities."

"Let me tell you, you were so right in not recruiting him!" The administrator winked at the nun, "I heard from Bill from the hardware store that the kid once went to jail for stealing, tsk tsk, look at his wicked eyes, now Hands and feet are probably not clean."

The two exchanged a few more pleasantries, then said goodbye to each other, drove away from the underground parking lot, and after a journey of about ten minutes, they came to a warehouse. The nun said that this warehouse is specially used to store magic items that may cause damage to the surroundings but cannot be processed temporarily. The walls of the warehouse are interlayered and filled with sealing spells. Unless someone intentionally attacks, there is no need to worry about theft.

Dominic thought that the warehouse must be full of all kinds of strange treasures, but he didn't expect that it was empty. There was a heavy metal box in the center, and a small altar in the corner. With a statue of the Virgin Mary.

The nun told Dominique and Chris to unload the model ship from the truck and put it in a metal box. After the two of them finished their task, the nun brought in a water pipe from outside the warehouse and filled the metal box with water. Then she took the Madonna down from the altar, said a bunch of prayers, and threw the Madonna into the water.Dominique knew that this was turning ordinary water into holy water through blessings, but it was really... unheard of to throw the statue of the Virgin directly into it.

Chris put the metal box back on and the job was done.

"The power of the ship model will not affect the outside world for the time being, but the Apocalypse Knight is powerful after all, and these protective measures probably won't last long. I hope the spells I prepared will come in handy." The nun said sadly.

"How long does it take to prepare the spell?" Chris asked.

"Tomorrow night, the day after tomorrow at the latest. I've cast that spell many times, and I'm fairly familiar with it, but it might not work for the Apocalypse Knight."

"Hopefully it works."

"Even if the spell fails, there are other ways. If it doesn't work, you can still ask the association for help. You can always find a way out, so don't worry."

"Then we're done with this job?" Dominic grabbed the hem of Chris's clothes and tugged, "Can we retreat?"

The nun smiled: "Of course, just leave the matter to me, and you can come and go as you like."

Chris shook his head: "But I want to stay. The black ship once bewitched Abby, I don't feel relieved if I don't see it destroyed with my own eyes."

"Do you want to watch the spell ceremony?"

"Can't you?"

The nun hesitated for a moment: "That's not...do you both want to stay?"

Chris looks at Dominic questioningly. The blond youth hesitated.Originally, after the incident in Haitong Town, he was supposed to go back to his hometown to reunite with his family, but they found the black boat, so the plan was delayed.Transporting the black ship to the shelter was already an extra issue. If possible, he wanted to leave immediately and go back to Maple Ridge. But Chris is here, and he's too embarrassed to go back alone. If he had gone back to Maple Ridge alone, it would have felt like he had left Chris behind, and he would feel bad about having been through so much together.

"Then I... I'll stay too."

"You don't have to push yourself."

"At the bottom line, I also have a lot to do with the black ship. I want to stay and see how it is destroyed."

Chris smiled happily.

"Then, you can stay in the safe house in the 'Sanctuary', Chris, you know that place? Very good. I will let you know when the spell is ready."
