Chapter 28 Shane is Hurt

"Thank you!"

Kerwin opened his eyes suddenly and jumped at the person standing in front of him.

But the person sitting by his bed was not Shane, Shane would not be wearing such a bright red coat.

"Kevin?" Kerwin stared blankly at the bewildered Kevin sitting in front of him, and immediately became emotional. "Where's Shane?"

Kevin's mouth was half open, and he couldn't say a word because he didn't know whether it was because of shock or fright.

Anxious Kerwin pushed away Kevin who was standing in front of him. He wanted to sit up from the bed, but he staggered as soon as his feet landed on the ground.

Kevin hurried to help Kerwin, but before his hand touched Kerwin, Kerwin, who was gritting his teeth, insisted on standing still.

Kevin silently withdrew his hand.

"Shane's next door, he's hurt."

Kerwin walked out firmly, he was going to find Shane.

But before Kerwin could get out of the door, he was blocked by Bod with a tired face.

"You're all wounded, where are you going?" Bod herself was in bandages, but she looked much better than Kerwin, who was about to be mummified.

"I'm going to find Shane." Kerwin seemed to be unable to feel the wound on his body, and persistently wanted to go out.

Bod didn't expect Kerwin to be so stubborn, he frowned disapprovingly, and said, "Shane is also injured, he's resting now."

"Go away!" Kerwin, who had always regarded himself as a gentleman, couldn't hold back his violent emotions, and said coldly.

Bod stared blankly at Kerwin.

Kerwin limped past Bod impatiently and walked outside.

He had injuries on his legs, and even his palms were tightly bound, but Kerwin didn't care about these. He wanted to see Shane, and he wanted to see Shane now.

Kevin, who was pushed away by Kerwin, ran to Kerwin's side quickly as if he had just recovered, and helped Kerwin up.

Kerwin only glanced at Kevin, then withdrew his gaze.

He knew he shouldn't get angry with Kevin, but he couldn't control his emotions.

Kerwin was seriously injured, and Shane was no exception, and Shane was even more injured in order to protect Kerwin. When Kerwin walked in, Shane was still unconscious and did not wake up.

Refusing Kevin's continued support, Kerwin dragged his body to Shane's side with difficulty.

Even though he was in a coma, Shane's brows were still furrowed, as if he was in great pain in his sleep.

Kerwin stretched out his bandaged hand and fully grasped Shane's hand. His hand was still soft, but through the bandage, Kerwin couldn't feel the heat of Shane's palm.

It's like being separated by thousands of mountains and rivers.

"I'm sorry..." Tears were like stars that the sky couldn't hold, turning into meteors and streaming down from the corner of Kerwin's eyes. "Thank you, I'm sorry."

I shouldn't have brought you here, I shouldn't have involved you in this, you shouldn't have suffered like this.

After helping Kerwin in, Kevin did not leave, but stood behind Kerwin, seeing Kerwin suppressing his crying.

His shoulders kept shaking, finally revealing the helplessness of the teenager.

"Kerwin..." Kevin wanted to comfort Kerwin, but he felt that no matter what he said, it was futile.

"How did we leave the dragon ruins?" The last scene before Kerwin passed out was the dragon swordsman swinging his sword at Shane, and he didn't know anything about it after that.

"It's collapsed there." Kevin heard Kerrwen and himself talking, and quickly replied. "Those dragons and people quickly turned back into sculptures, and we were trapped in it. It was Miss Bertie who found us and brought us back."

Kerwin didn't speak immediately after hearing what Kevin said, as if he was digesting the news.

After a long silence, Kerwin finally spoke again: "Xie En's leg..."

He didn't seem to have the courage to finish the sentence.

Sadness gradually appeared on Kevin's face: "Miss Bertie said that Mr. Shane's leg...may leave sequelae."

Kerwin couldn't help tightening his grip on Shane's hand.

Kevin looked at Kerwin anxiously.

When Kevin didn't know what to say to break the awkward atmosphere, Bod walked in from the outside, and she saw Kerwin with a sad face at a glance.

"Kerwin, I'm sorry." Bod, who was also injured, took a step forward, but she stopped where Kerwin took. "By the time I found you, you were all in a coma."

As for the dragon ruins that she dreamed of, they turned into pieces of wasteland.

The dull Kerwin shook his head and said, "It's not your fault, we knew it would be dangerous inside."

It's just that when I finally face the dangerous consequences personally, I still can't bear it after all.

"We lost a lot of people this trip, so we can only go back temporarily." Bod said again. "When you recover for a while, I will send you back."

But Bod didn't expect that Kerwin would reject him.

"We're leaving tomorrow," Kerwin said. "I will take Shane back to Stardew Valley."

"That's not good advice," Bod retorted. "You all need to rest now."

"It's just a rest." Kerwin said painfully. "Shane can't go back to how he was before, can he?"

Kerwin was right, so Bod fell silent.

"I want to go back with you!" Kevin shouted suddenly.

Bod looked at Kevin in surprise.

"I can take care of you." Kevin put his hands on his chest and said firmly. "I will never hold you back, I will definitely help."

But Bod could see clearly that Kevin's other hand was clutching the hem of his shirt uneasily.

Kerwin didn't refuse Kevin, he seemed to have no strength to refuse Kevin, because he quickly lay beside Shane and buried his face in Shane's hands.

"Dear Shane, we are going home." Kerwin said softly.

Shane, who was in a coma, still frowned tightly.

Although he failed to return to the Dragon Clan ruins successfully, Bod didn't blame them, and even prepared a very generous reward for them.

Kerwin dragged his injured body and rented a carriage, and with the help of Kevin, he left the desert town with Shane.

Shane woke up once, but before he could say anything to Kerwin, he quickly passed out again.

Kerwin could only hold Shane's hand tightly, whispering love words in Shane's ear, and prayed that the God of Youba would bless Shane to wake up as soon as possible.

He has no faith, but he is willing to be the most faithful believer for the one he loves.

But luckily, Shane finally woke up the day before reaching Stardew Valley.

His face was pale and his eyes were dull, as if his soul had been sucked out.

The dim dark clouds were dispelled by Kerwin, a little sun.

"Kerwin..." Shane reached out his hand and touched Kerwin's tear-filled side face. "Don't cry, Kerwin, don't cry."

Kerwin bit Shane's palm fiercely, tears streaming down his face like rain in June.

"Thank you..." He couldn't help his sobbing voice, the voice was full of pitiful grievances.

"Hey, Kerwin, my heart melts when you cry."
