Chapter 7 The Damn Carriage

Anderson walked south along a side road that ran parallel to the main road.

Walk southward from Wald for about three and a half days, and arrive at a small town called York. From there it was five days further west to Cole.

The path was covered with three-leaf clover, and the sky was gloomy and gray.

The reason why Anderson remembered the road was because when he was a child, Seth had laid out Denton's full map in front of him, centering on Fort Aiye, and the places he had visited with himself.Anderson was a child at that time, and he watched Seth's slender, powerful fingers trace the roads and towns on the parchment listlessly, falling asleep.

Anderson had only been interested in herbs since he was a child, and it took Seth a lot of effort to get him to write down Denton's important traffic routes.

"This knowledge will come in handy sooner or later, Master Anderson." Seth said back then.

Anderson was listless: "Have you been to so many places?"

"I'm a Wandering Knight. I've been to everything except the west of the Sother Desert and the east of the Fritland Mountains, sir."

It did come in handy, Anderson thought, but it didn't occur to him to escape.

In order not to arouse suspicion when he fled, his clothes and medicine chest were left in the countess's lower room at the castle. The countess gave him only thirty gold coins that could not be easily detected in his pocket.

He wanted to drink a glass of mead in a roadside tavern, and saw three orderlies posting a notice at the door. One of them was checking the guests one by one, a blond traveler with gray-blue eyes.A moment later a burly blue-eyed man was shoved out.The man was still cursing at first, but was beaten dumb by the soldiers.

A soldier asked: "To the countess?"

The leading soldier was searching the man's pocket: "No, the Marquis of Elberd is here. The Marquis said that if he caught someone, he would send him there directly."

Seth, is he here?

Isn't he in Fryland?

"Your name is Anderson Boots? Why don't you call it that?" The leading soldier kicked the tied man: "...Fuck it, take it to the Marquis first!"

Anderson lowered the brim of his wide-brimmed hat and had to find another way, avoiding hotels and taverns.

There are some things that you don't want to understand, but if you think about it carefully, you will find the problem.

Just a tequila water, do you need so many pharmacists to make it?

This is a selection process.

Select a low-key, highly skilled folk pharmacist for Curtis.

Who chooses?

Vincent William.

What to do after selection?

This Anderson didn't understand, and felt that he didn't need to understand it yet.All he knew was to leave the whirlpool of the royal family as soon as possible. He approached Curtis like a moth to a flame, and before Curtis could kill him, Seth would kill him first.

The doorman had his address in Cole on his register, and there was no way back to the pharmacy.

He wanted to find a town with a lot of people, change it to an ordinary name, and use the thirty gold coins to open a small medicine shop.

It's true that Anderson's knees aren't for walking long distances. The sword wound hurts when it rains, especially in the cold late autumn. The first night I slept under an oak tree, and I was still drenched when it rained. The next day the weather cleared up, and I dared not go to the tavern. I exchanged a gold coin for two loaves of bread and a small piece of bacon at a roadside farmhouse. Not to be ripped off, but that family table can only have so much to spare.Under Curtis's heavy taxation, bacon for dinner was very nice.

The first two days were all right, but on the third day he was exhausted, his kneecaps were so painful that they were about to split, and he bought a walking stick for ten copper coins. On the fourth day he barely saw Yoke's road sign.

He asked the oncoming pedestrians how long until the appointment.

"Yoke...Young man, you still have to walk for three days."

Anderson scolded his mother in his heart, and almost forgot that Seth said that the three-and-a-half-day journey was calculated by riding a horse, but it would take six days to walk...

His kneecaps ached in the cold autumn wind, and he missed Ryan's open carriage full of performance costumes and the warm fireplace in Cole's house.Anderson scolded Ryan a hundred times over and over, first saying that there would be such a thing that he would never leave Cole. Now he is fine, he left himself and went to Aiye Castle to enjoy himself, mother!

On the fourth day, there was another heavy rain. He stopped a carriage going south, stuffed five gold coins into the driver's hand, got into the carriage and fell down.

"Call me when you get to York."

The coachman cursed and wanted to throw him off, but the person sitting in the carriage said, "Go on."

The coachman looked behind him in embarrassment, and raised his whip.

Anderson stopped the carriage because he thought it was broken. There was no noble insignia on the carriage, and the driver looked like a peasant.

He got into the car door and fell asleep.

Then Anderson thought he must have been dazed by the rain, or else he hadn't noticed that the long row of brass buttons on the coachman's uniform were actually gold.

Some nobles are rather boring, and their coat of arms has always been only decorated in the carriage.

And travel low-key.

This is a traveling carriage. It was pouring rain outside, but the cabin was warm and comfortable. There was a small charcoal stove on the wool rug, and a large fold-out bench seat with velvet upholstery that doubled as a bed.In front of the window was a rectangular shelf for a table, with inkwells and quills, and some letterhead stamped with the gorse seal.A small vase of heather from the Fritlanders. The carriage was running smoothly, the charcoal stove was not down, and Anderson did not wake up.

The nobleman in the car bent down to look at the wet people on the floor, and did not speak for a long time.

After a long time, he said to the coachman, "Go on."

Anderson doesn't remember how long he slept.I just feel very warm, with a crackling fire and a warm quilt. In a daze, someone took off his wet clothes, and picked him up to feed him when he was thirsty.

Someone stroked the wound on his knee for a long time without saying a word.

It was a day after he fully woke up that he found himself sleeping on a bed: "Is your guest here?"

The carriage was still running briskly, but the speed was much slower.Looking out from the window is a familiar scene.

A dark brown medicinal soup was bubbling in a cauldron on a small charcoal stove.

There was a bitter taste in the air.

Seth bent down to stir the soup with a long-handled spoon, and the long hair on his forehead fell down, casting a small shadow on the deep-set eye sockets.

Hearing his question, Seth turned his head: "Don't move, you have a fever. We'll be in Fort Aiye soon."

Seagulls circled in the cloudy sky.The white coastline with long waves can already be seen on the horizon, and the dark gray tower spiers of Aiye Castle are visible in the beech forest.

The author has something to say: After an arduous struggle, the light bulb finally defeated the cold virus and appeared in front of everyone again.

By the way, Xiao An, you are a sad child.
