Chapter 220
Screamed, "Did that filthy goblin in the dungeon help you?"
"We just met him tonight!" sobbed Hermione. "We've never been in your vault... It's not the real sword! It's a fake, just a fake!"
"Imitation?" Bellatrix shrieked. "Well, it's a fake!"
"It's easy to find out!" Lucius said, "Draco, catch that goblin, he can identify whether the sword is real or not!"
Harry rushed to Griphook, who was curled up on the ground.
"Griphook," he whispered into the goblin's pointed ear, "you must say the sword is fake, and don't let them know it's real, Griphook, please—"
Harry heard someone rushing down the dungeon stairs, and then Draco's trembling voice came from outside the cell door.
"Stand back, stand in a row against the wall, don't try to act rashly, or I will kill you!"
They complied. When the keyhole turned, Ron pressed the extinguisher, and the ball of light flew back into his pocket quickly, and the dungeon was dark again. The door opened and Draco walked in, wand raised in front of him, looking pale and determined. He grabbed Griphook's arm and dragged the goblin back. The cell door slammed shut with a loud bang echoing through the dungeon.
Ron pressed the Deluminator, and three balls of light flew out of his pocket into the air again, illuminating Dobby the house-elf who had just Apparated among them.
"many--!"
Harry slapped Ron on the arm to keep him from screaming.Ron also seemed terrified of his mistake. There were footsteps on the ceiling as Draco escorted Griphook to Bellatrix.
Dobby's tennis ball eyes were wide open, and he was shaking from his feet to the tips of his ears.He returned to the home of his old owners, visibly petrified.
"Harry Potter," he squeaked and trembled very faintly, "Dobby has saved you."
"But what do you—?"
A horrified scream drowned out Harry's voice: Hermione was being tortured again. He quickly picked up the most important thing and said.
"Can you Apparate out of this dungeon?" he asked, and Dobby nodded, ear-tapping a few times.
"Can you take someone out?"
Dobby nodded again.
"Okay. Dobby, I want you to take Luna and Dean and Mr. Ollivander and take them to-to-"
"Bill and Fleur's," said Ron, "Shell Cottage on the outskirts of Dingworth."
The elf nodded a third time.
"And come back," said Harry. "Can you do it, Dobby?"
"Of course, Harry Potter," whispered the elf.He hurried up to the almost unconscious Mr. Ollivander, took the wandmaker's hand, and offered the other to Luna and Dean, neither of whom moved.
"Harry, we want to help you!" Luna said softly.
"We can't keep you here," Dean said.
"Come on, you two! I'll see you at Bill and Fleur's."
"Come on," Harry begged Luna and Dean. "Come on! We'll be there soon, go!"
They grabbed the elf's outstretched hand. There was another pop, and Dobby, Luna, Dean, and Ollivander were gone.
"What's that?" Lucius Malfoy yelled from above. "Did you hear that? What's that noise in the dungeon?"
Harry and Ron looked at each other in horror.
"Draco! Go check it out!"
Footsteps sounded through the upstairs room, and then there was a silence.Harry knew that the people in the living room were listening for another sound from the dungeon.
"Something has to be done with him," he whispered to Ron.They had no choice but to die if anyone walked into the room and the three prisoners stumbled. "Don't turn off the lights," Harry added.Hearing someone coming down the stairs outside the door, they leaned against the walls on both sides of the door.
"Stand back," Draco's voice came from outside the door, as if it could be heard upstairs, "Stay away from the door, I'm coming in."
The door opened. For a brief moment, Draco stared into the seemingly empty dungeon, three tiny suns hanging brightly in the sky.Harry and Ron jumped on it, Ron grabbed Draco's arm holding his wand and forced it upwards, and Harry put his hand over his mouth to silence him.The three fought silently.
"What's the matter, Draco?" Lucius Malfoy called from above.
"It's okay! Dad." Surprisingly, although Draco blushed and broke Harry's hand, he still shouted through his fingers, "Everything is normal!"
Harry could barely breathe.
"You're going to strangle me?" Draco said with difficulty, trying to open his reasonable fingers. "After I saved your life? Potter!"
Harry didn't expect him to say that, and was very surprised, but still had his hand over Draco's mouth. He saw his deadly enemy boy panting heavily, with a complex expression on his face.Seems like he's struggling to punch him or actually let him go.
After a while, he gritted his back molars and mumbled a few words, "...I"
"What?" Harry asked.
"I said," Draco said through gritted teeth, "stun me."
Harry had never heard such a request before, and Ron's jaw almost dropped to the floor. But Hermione's screams kept coming, and they didn't have time to wonder if Malfoy in front of them was a member of the Order of the Phoenix who had taken Polyjuice Potion.
"Okay, sorry." Harry snatched the wand from Draco's hand, "passed out."
In the last second before passing out, Draco regretted not finding a softer place to fall down. And watched as the damned Potter left the dungeon with his wand.
I should have punched them first.Draco thought.
Draco Malfoy's eyes were closed, his face paled, and finally he lay motionless on the ground.
Harry and Ron exchanged glances, then left him in the dungeon and rushed up the stairs into the dimly lit passage that led to the living room. They moved forward cautiously and quietly, and came to the living room door. The door was ajar, and Bellatrix could now be clearly seen looking down at Griphook, who was holding the Gryffindor sword in his long hand.Hermione lay at Bellatrix's feet, barely moving.
"How?" Bellatrix asked Griphook. "Is the sword real?"
Harry held his breath, fighting against the sting of his scar, and waited for his answer.
"No," said Griphook, "it's a fake."
"Are you sure?" Bellatrix gasped. "Really sure?"
"Yes." said the goblin.
Her face relaxes, all tension disappears.
"Very well," she said, and with a flick of her wand, she drew another deep gash in the goblin's face.He fell at her feet with a cry and was kicked away by her. "Okay," she said, triumphant palpable, "let us summon the Dark Lord!"
She rolled up her sleeves and pressed her index finger to the Dark Mark.
Suddenly, Harry's scar seemed to be torn open again. The real scene around him was gone, he was Voldemort, looking for something in a strange place, he had been toyed with by an old fellow, but he was still sure that the man had it.He felt the call, and was pissed off - he'd warned them they wouldn't be able to call him without at least capturing Potter, and if they got it wrong... his rage was almost uncontrollable... if they called him back without a good reason , will all be punished...
"I think," said Bellatrix's voice, "we can get rid of the Mudblood. Greyback, take what you want."
"Do not--!"
Ron rushed into the living room.Bellatrix turned her head in surprise, and pointed her wand at Ron's face instead—
"Expelliarmus!" Ron roared, snatching Draco's wand from Harry's hand and pointing it at Bellatrix, her wand flew into the air and was picked up by Harry who was running behind Ron. arrive.Lucius, Narcissa, and Greyback turned sharply, and Harry yelled, "Swoon!" Lucius Malfoy collapsed by the fire.Streaks of light erupted from Narcissa's and Greyback's wands, and Harry fell to the ground, rolling behind a sofa for shelter.
"Don't kill him, the Dark Lord wants Potter alive," Narcissa screamed at Greyback. "That's Draco's wand - what have you done to him!"
"Stop, or let her die!"
Panting, Harry looked over the edge of the sofa.Bellatrix was holding Hermione, who seemed unconscious, with a small silver knife pointed at Hermione's throat.
"Put down the wand," she said softly, "Put it down, or we'll see how dirty her blood is!"
Ron held Draco's wand, transfixed.Harry straightened up, still clutching Bellatrix's wand.
"I said, put it down!" she screamed, pressing the blade to Hermione's throat, and Harry saw beads of blood bubbling.
"Okay!" he cried, dropping Bellatrix's wand to the ground at his feet.Ron dropped Draco's wand too. Both raised their hands.
very good! Bellatrix squinted, "Greyback, go pick it up!"The Dark Lord is coming, Harry Potter! You are dying! "
There was a bursting pain in his scar, Harry knew, and he could feel Voldemort flying far away, across a black, choppy sea, soon to be close enough to Apparate, and Harry couldn't think of any way out.
"Now," said Bellatrix softly, "Cissy, I think we'll tie up these little heroes again and let Greyback take care of the mud
"We just met him tonight!" sobbed Hermione. "We've never been in your vault... It's not the real sword! It's a fake, just a fake!"
