go to the old place. "

Then George and Gwen ran to the big window near the principal's office and sat there for a long time. When they came to their senses, it was already midnight.

"I promise to go to the professor tomorrow." Gwen whispered after George, who was looking for the way, for fear of attracting the attention of Mrs. Norris wandering in the castle. "Now we have to show our housekeeping skills and don't be discovered by Filch."

Just as George was about to brag, there was a scream from downstairs—a horrific, piercing scream.

Gwen covered her ears and asked George, "What's that? Myrtle singing?"

George looked pained, "Oh, you probably missed the last celebration. That's the clue to the warriors, and that's the sound when the golden egg is opened - it's almost like the noise of the ghost band playing with a musical saw, or Percy in the bathroom Sing."

The screaming hadn't stopped when Gwen suddenly became interested: "Durmstrong and Beauxbatons both live outside the castle. How likely do you think Diggory is to go at night?"

George also showed an expression of watching the excitement, "0. Let's go, let's see what the warrior Harry is playing?"

Then they followed the screams and saw Filch on a narrow staircase on a lower floor, just closing the nuisance golden egg. There is also a familiar piece of parchment on the ground.

Gwen took advantage of the fact that Filch was sticking his nose out for the bad student of the Night Walker - who he now suspected was a warrior - ducked around the corner of the stairs and summoned the Marauder's Map with a Reaching Charm.Just barely, Filch could almost see the parchment flying in mid-air.George dropped one of Peeves' favorite poop eggs in the other direction.

"You're still carrying dung with you on a date with me?!" Gwen couldn't believe it.

"Peves!" Filch exclaimed joyfully. "You stole!"

"It's hiding, isn't it?" he whispered. "I'm coming for you, Peeves... you stole the clues to the Triwizard Tournament, Peeves... Dumbledore won't take it lightly this time." Forgive me, you dirty, sneaky, mischievous bastard..."

George whispered to Gwen now, "I didn't see Harry, but he must be around here, probably wearing an invisibility cloak."

"We can cover for him," Gwen said.

Filch was already halfway up the stairs, and with a little more poking, he could see two people around the corner.

"Filch? What happened?

Filch stopped and turned away.At the bottom of the stairs stood a man, and if anyone could have made their situation more dire it would have been: Snape. He was wearing a gray nightshirt and his face was livid.

"I take back what I just said," Gwen said in a voice like a mosquito, "Snape has no friendship in front of him, I'm sorry Harry."

"It's Peeves, Professor," Filch whispered viciously, "and he threw the egg down the stairs."

Snape hurried upstairs and stopped beside Filch.

"Peves?" said Snape softly, keeping his eyes on the golden egg in Filch's hand, "but it's impossible for Peeves to break into my office..."

"Was this golden egg originally in your office, Professor?"

"Of course not," said Snape sharply, "I heard a bang, a bang, and a scream—"

"Yes, Professor, that's the golden egg—"

"—I'll come over and investigate—"

"—Peves threw it, Professor—"

"—as I passed my office, I saw a torch lighted, and a cupboard door ajar! Somebody's looking for something in there!"

"But Peeves can't—"

"I know he can't, Filch!" Snape's voice became stern again. "I have sealed my office with a spell, and only wizards can break in!" Snape looked up the stairs, Then he looked down the hallway again, "I want you to come and help me search for the intruder, Filch."

pedal.pedal.pedal.

Someone is here again?Gwen wailed internally as George, holding the Marauder's Map, was trying to make out names in the dark. Then he gasped and tilted the parchment slightly in Gwen's direction.

The footsteps that came over were marked with a name that did not belong to Hogwarts, and the Marauder’s Map transformed by Sirius and Lupine conspicuously marked “Intruder” with pale scrolls and black fonts——Barty C. Rauch.

"Pajama party, huh?" Professor Moody's voice came gruffly from down the stairs.

George and Gwen looked at each other in the dark, seeing surprise in each other's eyes.

"Professor Snape and I heard some voices, Professor," said Filch at once, "it was Peeves, a prankster, throwing things around as usual - and then Professor Snape found out that someone had broken in His office-"

"Shut up!" Snape said in a low voice to Filch.

Moody's prosthetic leg thumped, as if it had taken another step. Then he was silent for a moment.

"Did I hear you right, Snape?" he asked slowly. "Has someone broken into your office?"

"That doesn't matter," Snape said coldly.

"On the contrary," growled Moody, "that's very important. Who's going to break into your office?"

"Probably a student," Snape's voice was dark and terrifying. "This has happened before. Potion ingredients are missing from my private storage room... there is no doubt that students want to make forbidden potions..."

"You think they're looking for potion ingredients, huh?" asked Moody. "You don't have anything else hidden in your office, do you?"

"You know I'm hiding nothing, Moody," he said in a low, menacing voice, "and you searched my office yourself, didn't you?"

Moody's face twisted into a grin. "It's an Auror's prerogative, Snape. Dumbledore told me to keep a close eye on—"

"Dumbledore happens to trust me," Snape said through gritted teeth. "I can't believe he ordered you to search my office!"

"Of course Dumbledore believes in you," growled Moody. "He's a very gullible man, isn't he? Always thinks that people deserve second chances. But I—I think some stains don't wash off, Stein Nep. Some stains never come out, you know what I mean?"

This time it was Snape's turn to be silent.

Moody laughed. "Go back to sleep, Snape."

"You have no right to make me go anywhere!" Snape hissed, letting go of his arms, as if annoyed with himself. "I have as much right to patrol the school at night as you do!"

Just when George and Gwen thought they had escaped, Moody suddenly let out a malicious giggle.

"If you insist, Snape. I have two suspects for you."

Gwen yelled inwardly, and felt that she was being pulled out of the corner by a force pulling the robe.

Then Moody pushed aside Filch and Snape on the stairs, and walked straight towards them, as if bypassing something again.

"You, students, wandering in the corridor in the middle of the night?" He rolled his magic eyes, as if to see through the souls of the two.

"We're dating, Professor," George said with mock ease, and put his arm around Gwen.

"Unfortunately," Moody seemed distressed, "I have to deduct ten points for you." Then he rolled his magic eye again, "Mr. Weasley seems to have quite a few things hidden in him—" He waved his wand ,"What's this?"

"It's over." Gwen closed his eyes in pain and thought, "We have exposed the most direct evidence to the enemy."

But what Moody had in his hands looked to be nothing more than a worn parchment with no words on it.

"Oh, Professor. That's just one of my parchments," said George, as if he didn't care.

Gwen's beating heart went back into her stomach, and she noticed that in addition to Moody tossing and turning, Snape was staring at them too.

"Then," Moody returned the parchment to George dissatisfied, "you guys go back to the dormitory now." He seemed to have used up George and Gwen, and found a less credible scapegoat for Snape, ready to Let everyone go back quickly.

"Miss Ollivander." For the first time, Gwen felt that Snape's voice was so mellow, "I remember I warned you that there would be consequences if I caught you again."

"Yes, Professor." Gwen rolled her eyes, immediately determined to get rid of the dangerous Moody, and tugged on George's sleeve. "You said you would send me to your office to skin a hundred toads."

Snape froze for a moment.Gwen hoped desperately that he would understand her earnest hint.George has put on an annoyed look, trying to cooperate with his girlfriend.

"Then why are you standing there stupidly?" Snape turned and looked at them with disgust, "Hurry up, follow me now. You are not allowed to go back until you finish. Besides, twenty points will be deducted from Gryffindor."

George and Gwen bowed their heads and followed Snape like quail in a line.

When they approached the eerie cold basement, Snape's face was as black as the bottom of a burnt cauldron.

"Give me an explanation - Ollivander and Weasley. I don't remember that I promised you this opportunity, or did you think Gryffindor, who was nocturnal, could come into my office and skin a toad?" He snorted coldly , "I don't allow you to touch my potion ingredients, even if it's just a toad."

Gwen had to say exactly what she knew (half-truths).

"Sorry, Professor. It's because Moody—"

"Cough." George interrupted her, shook his head slightly, and then said, "Professor. I
