tell me what to do, Dr. Reid
Chapter 002 Diary
Fiona was eating blueberry jelly, raising her eyes to look carefully at the man sitting next to her.
He has neat and docile short light blond hair, and a pair of blue eyes on his not-so-handsome face, with the corners of the eyes drooping slightly, which is exactly the same as Fiona herself.
But it didn't bring her enough familiarity.Whenever she looked in the mirror, she felt like she was looking at a total stranger. She couldn't even recognize her own face, let alone the man in front of her.
But she already knew who he was.He is Fiona's father, Julian Mars, who is currently working for a book company in Florida.
"You like blueberry jelly the most," Julian said with a weary look. "It hasn't changed since you were a child."
Fiona didn't speak.Of course, she didn't remember if she liked this kind of food, she just thought it tasted pretty good.
"You really can't remember anything?" Julian asked.
This is the third time he has asked this question.
Fiona said patiently, "Yes. I'm sorry."
Julian hid his disappointment well.
"It's okay." He said hoarsely, bowed his head and kissed Fiona's forehead, "It's okay, take a good rest, Fiona. You'll remember."
Fiona wondered if she really remembered.
Because she never had a flashback of memory or anything like that, it was as if her previous life was completely blank. But she still remembers the common sense of life, such as remembering how to use chopsticks, how to quickly unpack jelly and so on.
But her father was optimistic about it, and he decided to take her to see the best counselor when she was discharged from the hospital. He thinks she must be able to regain her memory very quickly.
In the afternoon, that fbi guy came again.
Fiona remembered his name.It was one of the few names she had stored in her head.In fact, she can only name six people, two of whom are attending physicians and nurses.
"Hi, missmars." The young man greeted her with an unnatural smile, raising a hand.
Fiona had no reason to be cold towards him.So she also smiled, "Oh! Mr. Reid? Right?"
"Yes." He still stood straight at the door, "Can I come in?"
"Of course. Come in," Fiona said.
The young man named Reid walked in.
He sat down beside her bed, "...you look good."
"Yes." Fiona replied, "because I slept well last night."
"That's great." Reid said immediately.
Then there was a short silence.
Fiona took the opportunity to observe him carefully.
His eyelids were drooping slightly, and he wasn't looking directly into Fiona's eyes. His eye circles were slightly sunken, and he looked a little sleep-deprived, which made him look a little sick.
He sat upright on the chair, like an elementary school student who listens carefully in class; his elbows were resting on his knees, and a pair of actually very slender legs were tucked together securely.
Fiona looked at him in a daze, and suddenly couldn't help noticing a strand of curly hair standing playfully behind his ear.
She stared at the strand of hair, suddenly wanting to smooth it out.
"So, you still haven't recovered your memory, right?" Reid asked suddenly.
"Yes." Fiona forced herself to look back, and met those dark eyes, "...have you caught the guy who hurt me?"
"Sorry, not yet." Reid replied softly. After he finished speaking, he made a drooping expression at the corners of his mouth, showing that he was really sorry for this matter.
"I've been thinking, maybe it's better for me not to restore my memory." Fiona said hoarsely.
Reid licked his lips quickly and looked at her a little embarrassed, as if he didn't know how to answer.
"No one would tell me what that guy did to me." Fiona said, "They all refused to let me watch the news, as if they were afraid that I would see the news that the bodies of those girls were found."
"I think they're right," Reid said, "but I still have to ask you a few questions, and I'm sorry."
Fiona realizes that he especially likes apologizing.Seeing his slightly embarrassed appearance, she couldn't help but want to laugh a little.
"Ask," she said.
"I found this diary from your home." Reid took out a pink hardcover diary, "but I didn't read the contents. If you allow me, I would like to see what you wrote a few days before it happened. Diary, okay?"
"of course."
"Thank you." Reid lowered his head and flicked through the diary, and he quickly found the newest pages.
Fiona looked down at the diary. She couldn't read the handwriting on it. Was it really her writing?
"Today was really bad.
When I woke up at noon, that crazy woman next door, Clark, knocked on my door again, God knows what she wanted to do again.Hell, my head is about to burst!Just stop fucking knocking, okay?
Ok I'm back now. Clark started pointing at the trash I had piled up by the door, and she said I should clean it up in time. She should look in the mirror and understand why no man wants to fuck her..."
Fiona only sees here.Because Reid immediately turned the diary to the next page.
God, he can see so fast! Can he really read an entire page of dense text in a few seconds?
Meanwhile, Fiona couldn't help but be amazed by what she saw in the diary.
Judging from the diary, fionamars is simply a mean and vicious woman. Fiona thinks that no one would want to be friends with such a woman.
She couldn't help but regret letting Reid read the diary.
No matter who sees these diaries, they will definitely start to hate the owner of this diary. She didn't want to be hated for something she couldn't even think of.
"There is no diary from the day before the kidnapping." Reid murmured suddenly.
"what?"
"You didn't keep a diary that day." Reid raised his head and said calmly.
"Oh. I don't remember."
"But I can probably guess from your diary where you might be going that day." Reid said, "If possible, can you lend me this diary for a while?"
Fiona had no choice but to agree.
"Mr. Reid." She called out suddenly.
Reid looked up at her suspiciously.
"Do you think I might have deserved it?" She asked softly, "From the diary just now, it can be seen that... I am not a clean woman. I went to the bar a week ago and met someone I didn't know at all. Man—" She paused, "I think maybe that's why I was targeted by that murderer."
She stared at Reid intently, waiting for his answer.
"Of course not." Reid replied without hesitation, "Unknown suspect, I mean the person who hurt you, he doesn't choose victims based on this. He won't give up other targets and turn to you just because you are easier to get." hurt you."
He is a very kind person. Fiona thought to herself. He was trying to comfort her, and she could clearly feel that.
"Thank you. I'm somewhat relieved to hear this." Fiona squeezed out a smile, "Then how did he choose his victims?"
Reid blinked quickly, looking confused.
"Why do you want to know this?"
"Just a little curious." Fiona said.
Reid hesitated, "He chooses his victims based on their looks. He chooses pretty girls with blond hair, just like you."
"So he probably hates some blonde woman in particular?" Fiona said.
"Yes," Reid said, "We believe that the unknown suspect has been rejected or abandoned by women with the same features. Since he couldn't hurt the real object of resentment, he used these women as stand-ins."
"His wife or girlfriend?"
"Yeah, it could have been his mother, or someone else close," Reid replied, and he stopped abruptly and forced an awkward smile, "It feels a little weird, we don't usually talk about these aspects with the victims themselves. Write."
"Oh. Maybe it's because most of them are dead, isn't it?" Fiona replied with a sigh.
Reid's expression suddenly changed slightly. He stared at Fiona with an obvious questioning look in his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Fiona looked at him.
"Nothing." Reid replied immediately.Without any knowledge of psychoanalysis, Fiona was keenly aware that he might be lying.
Reid quickly read the entire diary, the speed is eye-popping.
"I should go." After reading the diary, Reid got up and said.
"Sorry, I still can't be of much help," Fiona said.
"No," Reid curled his lips, "Actually, you helped me a lot. Thank you."
"Can I still see you someday?" Fiona couldn't help but said the moment Reid turned to leave.
Reid turned his head and looked at Fiona in surprise.
"I mean, if I want to talk to someone about these things..." Fiona looked at him expectantly, "Can I?"
Reid tilted his head slightly, and after a moment of silence, he pulled the corner of his mouth and smiled, "I think there will be better people willing to listen to you. Believe me, I'm not the best choice."
—he refused.
Fiona felt a little disappointed immediately.
"Okay." She sighed, "Then see you again when we have a chance, Mr. Reid."
He has neat and docile short light blond hair, and a pair of blue eyes on his not-so-handsome face, with the corners of the eyes drooping slightly, which is exactly the same as Fiona herself.
