Chapter 35 Under the Chamber of Secrets

In front of him was a large canopy bed with intricate silver ornaments.

A dark green velvet curtain hung on it, and golden tassels hung around the top of the bed in a connected semicircle.A large silver shield was embroidered on the velvet in the center above the bed, which looked like a family coat of arms.Ruby St. George's Cross, crown of golden irises at the top, followed by a snow-covered background with ruts from a golden wheel, rosemary branches spreading out on both sides, small blue flowers clustered in leaf axils, and below Cloudy ripple decoration.

The head of the bed is carved with a very detailed pattern of mountain flowers. On the top are three little angel-like boys waving magic wands. In the middle is the sun shining with radiant light. Below are wavy layers of water patterns. At the end of the bed there is also a rectangular frame-shaped finely carved silver border. A square low stool of the same color and material is placed in front of it. Next to it is a gold candlestick as tall as a person with complicated patterns and a circle of white candles lit high and low. .

Harry smacked his lips. Just looking at the bed, he could tell that the owner was rich and had a high status. He turned his head and continued to look at the other furnishings in the room.In the center of the room is a single-column round table covered in dark green velvet. The edges are wrapped in silver foil and joined with wavy edges, which has a compact and beautiful effect. In the middle of the table, there is a mist floating above a jade-colored azure-glazed incense burner with two ears.Harry thought the pattern on it was a parrot and peony, and he knew that to be able to use such a lustrous porcelain was definitely a nobleman in the Middle Ages.

Above the fireplace on the left is a large mirror that is attached to the wall and reaches the height of the ceiling. The crystal chandelier with golden branches and crystal double towers in the middle is shining brightly. There are dozens of burning white candles on it, illuminating the Sterling Silver Pattern Wall Decor is very dazzling. On either side of the mantel under the mirror stood two square candlesticks, gleaming with silver. In the middle is a small clock with golden hands pointing to 11:30.Outside the alcove below is a ring-shaped and cross-leaved openwork fence, also made of silver.

The walls are full of exquisite and delicate tapestries, and the embroidered patterns are irregular heart-shaped and diamond-shaped gradients. The border is carved silver branches of rosemary, the slender leaves are coiled together, extending to the center of the white marble ceiling.Harry's attention was drawn to a gold-framed portrait on the tapestry. Judging from their attire, they were clearly a couple, and they both had dark blue eyes. The man wore a silver fleur-de-lys crown and a deep red velvet coat, with black curls hanging loosely over his ermine collar. The woman wore a white floor-length dress, blond hair shawl, and a pearl necklace around her neck. They are all smiling, and there is a canopy in the background, which shows their identity. The two people above kept their hands together in a motionless posture, and did not blink their eyes. Obviously, they were not magical portraits.

He wouldn't run into some Muggle palace, would he? !Why is there no trace of magic in this place?Harry couldn't help but mutter in his heart, theoretically, shouldn't he be teleported near Voldemort? Why is it in such a place? There was a large bookshelf on the right. He was about to walk over it, but suddenly noticed some words written in the corner of the portrait, so he took a closer look.

It is a very gorgeous cursive font, which matches the decoration style of the room very well. Each capital letter S has six turns, each of which is a standard 120-degree angle.

"Salazar Slytherin 1011 AD"

...Harry was shocked.Salazar Slytherin! He stared at the letters with wide eyes, making sure he wasn't dazzled, they combined perfectly to match the name of the founder of Slytherin house!Could this portrait be the Salazar Slytherin couple? If so, why didn't Slytherin make a magical portrait of himself?Harry was confused.Or, maybe his parents?Hanging portraits of ancestors in the bedroom has always been the style of medieval aristocrats.

But then again, it's no wonder there's so much silver and green here... He looked around quickly.Sure enough, without a single window, it was clearly a basement.Harry walked quickly to the bookshelves, and found that the spines of the large antique books were all stamped with silver paint with the same shield pattern as the head of the bed.It seems that it is indeed a family crest, but why is it a wheel?Isn't Slytherin's symbol a snake?

Harry glanced at the titles of the books. Most of them seemed to be difficult to understand magic books, black magic and potions. To his great surprise, he actually found Vitruvius's "Ten Books of Architecture" in Latin edition.

Salazar Slytherin can speak Latin! No, the point is, he actually reads books written by Muggles?Or his descendants or relatives? No matter who it is, it is a very scary thing!Harry remembered that in "Hogwarts, a School History", Slytherin looked down on Muggles extremely. He required the students in his college to be pure blood, and called them "Mudbloods" contemptuously.

And as the founder of Slytherin House, it would be quite normal if this was his bedroom... Harry looked around again. Although there were no windows, the lights were brightly lit, and it was a resplendent scene. No dead snakes, no stink, no cobwebs and dust, no rotten furniture... Harry found himself compulsively comparing this room to the Gaunts' old house.

There is still no sound around, even the hands of the clock are turning silently. The door of the room was open, Harry looked at it, and was about to go out when he saw his own reflection in the mirror. He didn't notice this thing until now, he was too lax!He quickly and silently recited an illusion spell to himself, and tiptoed out.

Outside is a hall. The shorter end is semicircular, and there is a protruding step in the center of the arc. On it is a carved silver chair full of precious stones. On the armrest are two fist-sized transparent zircons, which are cut into multifaceted spheres. A structure that seems to have flames dancing inside. On both sides of the other end are two long rows of decorative pillars, and neat dark green suede and silver-edged sofa chairs are arranged underneath.

Harry scratched his head. This architectural layout is like a medieval Romanesque church, a Latin cross structure.A huge upside-down conical chandelier hangs in the center of the cross, and many transparent crystal diamonds are strung on it, reflecting the dazzling light. The ceiling is a continuous quarter dome, decorated with square or diamond stripes in light and dark green. The floor is smooth-cut across the entire surface of golden beryl and aquamarine beryl, flat and flawless.Under the illumination of candlelight, the dark brown beryls inlaid at intervals exude beautiful six-shot starlight.

It's simply too extravagant...Harry couldn't help sighing. He saw across the hall, on the opposite side, a door with a decorative relief on the lintel. He looked back at the doorway he had just come out of, which also had a relief on it.It's another room... Harry was about to walk over to have a look, but when he got near the chandelier, a cloud of white mist suddenly appeared in front of him.

He is clearly invisible! This was Harry's first reaction. The second reaction was, as expected, it was Salazar Slytherin's place, did he cast some anti-invisibility spell?

Harry tried to back away, but his feet seemed to be glued to the slick gemstone floor. In fact, he couldn't move his whole body, and neither the Obstacle Curse nor the Iron Armor Curse that he uttered silently had any effect on White Mist, and he saw his own body.Harry could only watch helplessly as the white mist stretched and deformed before his eyes, first two hands stretched out, and then booted feet.In the end, it turned into a pearly white man with a translucent body.

... Could this be a ghost?Harry stared intently ahead, at a man with a very handsome face and wearing wizard robes. If his eyes could see colour, and his hair turned into curls, wouldn't he look like the man in the portrait of the room?

"Tom told me that he is my only offspring." The man spoke with a surprisingly elegant tone.He walked around the stiff Harry, his eyes full of scrutiny. "Then what woke me up...you don't have the blood of Slytherin..." His eyes finally fell on Harry's forehead, and his brows couldn't help but frown more and more, as if he had discovered something extraordinary, "Oh, no..."

"It's unbelievable, that's actually true." He finally made this conclusion, and he had already gone to the other end.Harry turned sideways to him, and could only frantically roll his eyes to see what he was doing. The ghost reclined in the ornate silver chair, tapping his fingers on the jewels in the armrest, as naturally as he did so often. "So you are Harry Potter?"

Harry felt he could speak. "Yes," he said quickly, "who are you?" Did you mention Tom?Voldemort?

The man elicited a smile. "Salazar Slytherin." He whispered his name, "Didn't you just come out of my bedroom?"

Hearing the expected answer, Harry felt his heart sink. "I don't know where this is," he said.

"The Chamber of Secrets." The Slytherin played with the jewel in the armchair, as if his fingers could not pass through the ghostly substance. "I built it when I came back ten years after I left Hogwarts." His eyes were long and deep.

Harry's eyes widened. So he hasn't left the confines of Hogwarts yet?In other words, he was actually in the underground of Hogwarts? He never knew such a place existed before!

"Almost 1000 years... I hoped that my spell would never come in handy, just like I hoped that the Resurrection Stone Ring would be a burden to me." Slytherin seemed to be lost in thought while staring at the zircon, "Even if I had planned for the worst, I never imagined that I would be awakened by a different person."

Harry had absolutely no idea what he was saying. "You mean, someone has been here before?" He asked tentatively, "His name is Tom?" This was his worst guess, how did Voldemort get into Hogwarts?

"He told me that, according to you, his better-known name is Voldemort." Slytherin raised his head, and he stood up. "I think he's totally wasting his energy doing something that doesn't have to be done."

Harry tried to struggle, but he was still held in place. "Have you been here all this time? How did he get in?" His tone was full of anger and worry.

Slytherin walked up to him. "It seems that your relationship is really bad, but that's inevitable." He looked directly into Harry's fiery emerald green eyes, "You never thought about why I chose to stay this way? Why did you put my Wake up? Or take a step deeper, why both you and him will go back to 17 years ago?"

Harry froze in amazement.Of course he thought about it, and imagined countless possibilities... But, like now, talking face-to-face with Salazar Slytherin, and Slytherin himself is still hinting that all this has something to do with him, this possibility It's impossible for him to guess it even if he wants to break his head!

"I don't want my descendants to repeat the same mistakes, and I don't want them to be cut off in the family castle." Slytherin said every word, with a cold and calm expression. "I just hope you can remember one sentence: There is hope in life."

At the same time, there was the sound of a door being opened at the end of the long hall.Harry was horrified to see a figure in a hooded black robe appear at the entrance. The figure got closer and closer, and seemed to pause when it saw Harry clearly.

"Oh, there is a little friend waiting for me today," said a soft voice, "I thought there were only two of us for Christmas." Harry found to his great despair that it was the voice of Voldemort he remembered.

The visitor is very close. He took off his hood, revealing a face somewhat similar to Salazar Slytherin. The difference is that Slytherin has straight hair and blue eyes, while his hair is slightly curly and his eyes are black. "So you've discovered the secret to the Easter egg? Faster than I thought."

Harry glared at him, not knowing what to say.The situation didn't favor him at all, he could only move his eyes and mouth, and neither Slytherin nor Voldemort was easy to deal with.Just a half-ghost Slytherin had easily overpowered him, and he didn't even know how...

"Here you are," Slytherin said flatly. "Fix it yourself," he added, his figure slowly blurring.Voldemort nodded, keeping his eyes on Harry.
