[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind

Chapter 108 she left

Eleanor felt herself floating in the air, surrounded by only white mist.

Time has become meaningless. She didn't know how much time had passed, maybe only a few hours, maybe months, or even years.

She didn't understand why she was here, but she didn't want to think about it either. She just felt like she was back where she was before she was born, like in the safe and warm womb.

Suddenly, at a certain moment, she heard a voice whispering in her ear: "Wake up, Eleanor...it's time to leave."

"Leave?" She responded to the voice in her heart in confusion, and at the same time felt that the voice was unusually familiar, "...Where am I going?"

"Go where you are supposed to go," the voice answered.

Eleanor struggled to come to her senses. After thinking for a while, she replied, "Is the place I'm going to heaven?"

"Not heaven." The voice answered immediately, seeming quite sure of the answer.

After a long period of thinking, Eleanor finally came up with her own answer.

"But I don't want to go anywhere just yet," she said. "I like this place."

"But you must go, it is fate," the voice sighed.

Eleanor didn't want to discuss this topic anymore, she thought about it, looked around the white mist, and decided to change the topic.

"Tell me, what exactly is this place?"

The voice was silent for a while, "To be honest, I don't know either. Maybe it's the gap between life and death, maybe it's a place between heaven and earth."

"Who are you then?" Eleanor asked again.

The voice suddenly laughed softly, "I think, you know the answer to this question."

Eleanor thought for a while, and found that she really knew who the owner of that voice was, as if someone had suddenly stuffed the answer into her head.

"You are me," she whispered, "...but I can't figure out what's going on. I'm here, but why is there another me?"

"You'll know," the other replied.

"How long have you been here?" Eleanor asked suddenly.

The voice was silent for a long time before answering: "I don't know. It's not important. What's important is that I finally saw you... This means that the end of everything is coming soon."

"You mean, death?" Eleanor said the word, but she didn't feel very scared.

"Yes," answered the voice, "your soul has been away from your body for too long. You are dead, and there is no way you can go back."

Eleanor closed her eyes and let herself float in the air. After an unknown amount of time, she asked in a low voice, "Then where will I go?"

"You will know," the voice replied.

"What about you? What will happen to you?" she asked again.

"I don't know," the voice sighed, "but you don't have to worry about that just yet."

At this moment, the surrounding white mist suddenly dissipated.Eleanor found herself standing on a familiar dirt road. She recognized it at once as the road she had left Little Hangleton for boarding school.

"Go," said the voice, "the place you are going to is ahead, and I have seen it."

"But I can't see anything." Eleanor said, looking up at the thick white mist ahead.

"Don't be afraid, you'll see it," said the voice reassuringly.

But Eleanor still felt a little uneasy, "What the hell does it mean?"

The voice laughed.

"Hogwarts," she said, "it's called Hogwarts Castle. But it's no use knowing that, because you won't remember anything that happened here."

Eleanor stared at the fog ahead, as if she could vaguely see the shadow of the castle.

Then, she began to float forward, as if some kind of force was pulling her forward.

Eleanor's figure gradually disappeared into the mist.

"So what am I going to do next?" the voice said to itself with a sigh, "Now that what I need to do is done... maybe it's time for me to go."

Just then, as if in response to her words, a horseless carriage appeared on the dirt road.

She came to the carriage and stroked its outer wall.

She knew that she was different from the self who had just left, once she left, she would never come back.

She has stayed in the world for a long time, which is already a gift to her.But she has to go now, and she seems to feel the call of heaven - if there is a heaven.

She suddenly saw the ring on her finger, the cracks on it were clearly visible.

A pair of black eyes suddenly appeared in her mind. She felt her heart, which hadn't beat for a long time, tremble slightly.

She wrapped the ring in her palm and closed her eyes.

No, she doesn't want to leave yet... She said silently in her heart.

By the time she opened her eyes, she had already made up her mind. The carriage disappeared without a trace.

"I don't understand, what's going on here?" Abraxas asked Tom tremblingly.

Tom bowed his head, black hair hanging down his face.

"What happened to her?" Abraxas continued to ask, "Yesterday she was fine, and you told me that as long as the next spell succeeds, she will probably be resurrected—"

"Shut up, I'm thinking." He said coldly.

The girl lying on the bed tightly closed her eyes, her face was as pale as a piece of paper. Not long ago, she stopped breathing. She is no longer a living walking dead, but a real corpse.

"Please, don't stand still, do something!" Abraxas stretched out his hand and grabbed Tom, shouting with red eyes, "Didn't you see that she was about to die?!"

Then he was taken aback by Tom's expression.

There was a crazy red light faintly in those black eyes, which looked like they were about to burst out at any moment. His icy hands gripped Abraxas' wrists tightly, pushing him hard aside.

"I said it, shut up." He said viciously, "Get out of here!"

He turned around and picked the girl up from the bed.

"No, it's impossible." He murmured hoarsely. "I can't make a mistake."

The girl fell limply in his arms, motionless.

A few seconds later, Tom suddenly put down Eleanor's body.He stood up and announced softly in an extremely suppressed voice: "She is dead."

"No, I don't believe it." Abraxas pushed away Tom who was standing stiffly in place, and then hugged Eleanor's body tightly. He tested her breathing and heartbeat again, but found nothing.

"Don't waste any more time. She's dead," said Tom coldly. "Let her go."

"We killed her." Abraxas suddenly whispered hoarsely, "We killed her... Avery was right, it was our selfishness that killed her."

Tom bowed his head in silence, his face was in the shadows, only slightly pursed lips could be seen.

"Tell me, you still have a way to save her, right?" Abraxas turned his head, staring at Tom with red eyes.

"Her body is dead." Tom said bluntly, "Her soul can't go back...unless a miracle happens."

"Then we will create a miracle!" Abraxas glared at Tom through gritted teeth.

"Don't be stupid." Tom sneered, "Give up, we can't do it. Only God can save her now."

"No, I won't give up!" Abraxas glared at him.

Tom pursed his lips and met his eyes coldly.

"Yes, you can't understand." Abraxas sneered suddenly, "You've always only cared about yourself. Do you love her, Tom? You never really cared about her, you only thought of her as yourself A tool for contentment—”

"Shut up," Tom said quietly.

"What is she to you?" Abraxas said, glaring at him. "Friend? Lover? Marry after graduation? I doubt it. Remember? She didn't meet your requirements a little bit, you Just shake her off like a rag—”

"I said, shut up."

"What's the difference between her and an item to you?" Abraxas said more and more excitedly, "Now that she's dead and broken, you want to fix her, but once you fail, you give up immediately —I'd rather Avery be the one she fell in love with in the first place than you—"

Tom jerked his wand out.

"Shut up! Shut up!" The expression on his face was terribly distorted, "What do you have - qualifications - to say that?!"

A silent spell struck Abraxas in the chest. He immediately screamed and fell to the ground.

Immediately afterwards, another spell followed.

As if to take out all his anger on Abraxas, Tom continued to torture the boy in front of him with any magic he could think of.

At last he stopped, panting, and lowered his wand to look at the boy lying motionless on the ground.

Then, he slowly raised his eyes and looked at the girl lying motionless on the bed.

He stepped over Abraxas on the ground and came to the girl's bed.

He suddenly felt his legs go weak. After shaking a few times, he fell to his knees beside her bed, and the wand in his hand fell to the ground with a "click".

He slowly stretched out his hand, touched the girl's cold cheek, and stared at her for a long time.

She looked as peaceful as if she was asleep.

But he knew that he had lost her again...and this time it would be forever.
