[HP] Riddle's Spirit Behind
Chapter 120 Legilimency
At dinner, Tom had the house-elves deliver food to his office.
"I had them prepare a roast with pudding, which is your favourite, isn't it?" said Tom, sitting opposite her, smiling.
But Eleanor still looked absent-minded.
"What? . . . oh, thanks."
Tom suddenly sighed, put down the knife and fork in his hand, "You think I have something to hide from you, don't you?"
Eleanor didn't answer, but looked at each other intently.
"Well, I'm telling the truth. I do have something to hide from you," said Tom.
Eleanor's eyes widened in surprise, "What?"
"I was going to tell you later." He put the napkin on the table and stood up, then reached out to Eleanor, "Come on, I'm going to take you to a place."
Eleanor looked at his outstretched hand without moving.
"But...where are you going?"
"To see someone," Tom answered succinctly.
They then went outdoors through the fireplace in the office.
It was evening, and the clouds in the sky were dyed a flame-like bright red by the setting sun.
Immediately afterwards, Eleanor felt a familiar squeeze.
They apparated into a remote and quiet alley.Tom held her wrist tightly and led her to the bustling street.
"Where is this?" Eleanor asked, looking around in surprise. This is a very ordinary street, and you can see Muggles in different clothes in a hurry on the street.
Just a second ago they were standing in the quiet village of Hogsmeade, but now they came to the bustling Muggle city. The red afterglow of the setting sun can still be seen from the gaps of the numerous Muggle buildings, but it looks completely different from before.
A few minutes later, they were standing in a hallway filled with the smell of disinfectant. This is a very ordinary Muggle hospital.
Wizards don't see a doctor here, so the person they want to see should be a Muggle.Eleanor thought quickly.Eleanor vaguely guessed who they were about to meet, but why was he in the hospital?
When Tom pushed open the door of the ward, Eleanor recognized the man lying on the bed at a glance.
"Uncle Tim!" Eleanor ran over without thinking, and squatted down beside Uncle Tim's bed.
Uncle Tim was on a respirator and his eyes were tightly closed. He was pale and had tubes attached to him that Eleanor had never seen before.
"What's the matter with him?" Eleanor asked worriedly.
"He was involved in a bar brawl and was stabbed badly, dying." Tom said softly, standing behind her, "but don't worry, I've healed most of his wounds with healing magic, now just wait for him Just wake up."
"When did this happen?" Eleanor asked.
"Last night," said Tom in a low voice, "I've been keeping an eye on Uncle Tim for you, because I thought you'd expect him to come to your wedding. I didn't get any definite news until last night. But He was like this when I got there, I'm sorry."
"So, the blood on your body last night was actually Uncle Tim's...Is that so?" Eleanor whispered hoarsely.
"Yes."
"I don't understand...why didn't you tell me right away?"
"Because I don't want you to worry too much," Tom replied calmly, "and to surprise you on the wedding day."
Eleanor returned her attention to Uncle Tim.
"He's really going to be fine, isn't he?"
"Yes." Tom said softly, putting his hand on her shoulder, "I believe he will wake up soon."
Eleanor breathed a sigh of relief, then silently stared at Uncle Tim's face.
"But why did he get into a bar fight? He's not a curmudgeon," she muttered under her breath, then looked up at Tom. "...he's drinking again, isn't he?"
Tom nodded silently, "According to what I've heard, he does get drunk every day. I heard he lost several jobs because of it.
"It's all because of me." Eleanor said hoarsely, her eye circles began to turn slightly red.She took Uncle Tim's hand and sat on the edge of his bed. "My death must have made him very sad."
After about a quarter of an hour, Eleanor and Tom left Uncle Tim's ward.
On the way out of the hospital, Eleanor stopped suddenly.
Tom turned his head and frowned at her suspiciously, "What's wrong?"
"There is something I have never mentioned to you." Eleanor said hoarsely with her back to Yu Hui, who was about to disappear, "Actually, I know what you did after I disappeared."
Tom watched her calmly, but his lips were pursed slightly.
"I have memories of that time, Tom." Eleanor said calmly, "I remember the feeling of the soul being stripped from the body, it was as painful as being burned all over. After that, I lost the ability to think, just At the mercy of a puppet. I should be thankful that the memories are very, very vague...I can only remember bits and pieces...They're as unreal as dreams."
Tom frowned again. He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by the other party.
"At first I thought they were just nightmares, but then it dawned on me that they were real things that happened," she whispered.
Tom took a few quick steps and came up to her.He sighed slightly, looked down into her eyes and said "I'm sorry, Eleanor...but you know, I just want you back. He said softly, "And now you are still standing here intact, isn't this the most perfect ending?" "
"I don't know, Tom." Eleanor answered in a low voice.
Her intuition told her that Tom still had a lot to hide from her.She believed that he hadn't been completely honest with him even about Uncle Tim.When he emerged last night covered in blood, he looked terribly distressed and weak.Eleanor was sure that something must have happened.
She watched him silently, thinking that it would be nice if there was a kind of magic that could peek into his thoughts. So, subconsciously, she grasped the wand in her pocket.
"Tell me, what happened last night?" she asked softly, staring into his dark eyes, hoping to see something through them.
Just when she was thinking this way, some vague scenes suddenly appeared in her mind. She felt dizzy for a while, took half a step back and closed her eyes.Subconsciously, she gripped Tom's arm tightly.
She saw a dark alley. Two black figures appeared at the other end of the alley, and one of them floated unnaturally in mid-air, like a person who had been cast with a levitating spell after being unconscious.
"...are you following me,?" said Tom's voice coldly. "You shouldn't be here tonight. I remember I gave you other tasks, unless you want to refuse my orders?"
"I'm not like those stupid werewolves, I'm not your dog... The only person I've been loyal to is the great dark wizard Grinwald. But don't worry, they have already carried out your damn order... That idiot from the Ministry of Magic will definitely die tonight." A strange voice from the other side of the alley said in heavily accented English, "Also, I brought you a gift... Try being bitten by your own dog. Recover quickly."
At this moment, the sky suddenly became brighter, and the floating clouds that covered the moon finally drifted away.A full moon appeared in the dark night sky.
With a blood-freezing howl, a dark figure rushed towards Tom.
Tom raised his wand quickly and said a spell.A bright purple light rushed towards the black figure, but at this moment, a person rushed out from the bar at the end of the alley. The man's footsteps were vain, and he walked towards this side drunkenly.
The man was hit by the spell and fell limply to the ground. The black shadow let out a roar, and threw the person who fell on the ground aside. The man's body slammed into the wall like a rag doll and fell to the ground.
"Damn it!" Tom's voice cursed. He stepped right over the fallen man and gave the man a quick glance.
So Eleanor clearly saw the bloodless face of the man who fell on the ground—it was Uncle Tim.
At this moment, Eleanor suddenly heard a roar.
"Do not--"
She was pushed hard, and then she staggered back a few steps and fell to the ground.
damn it!Tom cursed to himself, panting.
He hadn't expected this at all—Eleanor would actually have Legilimency! But her Legilimency is very lame, so he can easily interrupt it.
Although it was only a few seconds, it was enough for her to see a complete memory.
Eleanor sat on the ground, her face turned pale, and she stared at him in horror, "...What was that just now?"
Tom pursed his lips, looked at Eleanor, and then quietly clenched his wand.
Just a Memory Charm will do the trick.he said to himself.
He shouldn't have been in that house last night... He still doesn't understand why he subconsciously Apparated there at his weakest. This morning, he should modify her memory directly, so that there won't be so many troubles.
But he didn't do it right away, as many Muggles were already casting curious glances at them.
He reached out and pulled Eleanor up from the ground.
"Let's go," he whispered, "I'll explain to you later."
Eleanor looked at him hesitantly, and finally nodded slightly.
Soon, they returned to Hogsmeade village.
Eleanor bowed her head in silence all the way, but Tom didn't care what she was thinking, because he knew she would soon forget what had just happened.
Tom slowed down, then drew his wand.
But Eleanor stopped suddenly.Tom had to stop for a moment, and stuffed his wand back into his coat pocket.
"I used Legilimency just now, didn't I?" She turned around and said softly, "I remembered Professor Mellors mentioned this magic in class. But I don't understand...why that person just happened to be Tim. uncle?"
"Because I didn't lie to you," Tom replied calmly. "I was indeed looking for him. What happened yesterday was just an accident. I'm sorry, Eleanor." wand.
"Why are you apologizing?" Eleanor suddenly showed a bitter smile, her eyes fixed on the wand in his hand, "Because you want to modify my memory or kill me?"
Tom froze slightly at once.
"...No, I think it's me who should apologize next." Eleanor said softly.
"What does that mean?" Tom frowned slightly.
But at this moment, Eleanor suddenly raised the wand that had been hidden in her sleeve for a long time.
Tom drew his wand unconsciously, but he was half a beat too late.A icy flame shot out from Eleanor's wand, and Tom had to conjure red flames to resist.
After a few seconds, the flames disappeared, but so did Eleanor.
The author has something to say: don't worry about who that black shadow is, he is just an ordinary passerby, a black wizard. .
