Chapter 38

"Come on, it's Christmas, you don't have a place to play?" Regina said to a few college classmates who had nothing to do and played with their smartphones or tablets.

"Zhao, it's not that we don't want to play, it's just... from daytime to 12 o'clock in the morning, all businesses are closed." A boy said while playing a game on a tablet.

"Except yours. Oh, there are several other Chinese restaurants in Orlando." A girl said.

"But don't you think Christmas night should be with your family?" Regina said.

"Of course. On Christmas morning, the whole family goes out together, rushing to the church service a few miles away. Then, shopping spree, Christmas tree installation, Christmas stocking full of presents, Christmas dinner...  . . . " said Matthew.

"Oh, I see. You guys looking for something exciting to do for Christmas?" Regina said.

"Yeah. I originally thought that the 'Guardian Angel' that you and Matthew joined was just a non-profit non-profit organization. However, what surprised me was that the 'Guardian Angel' also awarded grades and honorary certificates to members .” Said the boy playing the game.

"Hey, how's it going? Do you admire me a little bit?" Matthew said proudly aside.

"What do you think of her?" The boy turned off the game, opened the video and pointed to Gloria inside.

After watching the video, Matthew yelled unconvinced, "Damn it, do you think she will be stronger than Regina?"

The boy curled his lips and said, "If she is really a 'Guardian Angel', I think she will be very powerful."

"Nonsense! How could she be Regina's opponent? Does she know Chinese Kung Fu?"

"Hmm, I really didn't see her make a move. But I know that no one can dodge bullets like her!"

Regina said a little angrily, "Shut up both of you! First, I am not learning Chinese Kung Fu, but MMA (Mixed Martial Arts, a competitive fighting sport with very open rules)! Second, facing the gunpoint Anyone who doesn't run away is a lunatic!"

The boy shrugged, "Regina, I know mixed martial arts are great! But, this girl doesn't look like a crazy, troublesome motorcycle maniac, does she?!"

"Well, since you have nothing to do, how about going on patrol in Paramore with us?" Regina said to the boy indignantly with a gamble in her heart.

"Regina, are you going to patrol Paramore tonight?" Matthew's expression became a little nervous.

"Yes, I will inform Adam. What, are you afraid?"

"No, I...how could I be scared. It's just...your family doesn't worry about you?"

"Well, I'll tell them later. Remember, we are going to patrol whenever we want to find and stop crimes! This is the job of the 'Guardian Angels'!!!" Regina said, turning to Restaurant kitchen walk.

"Did you hear what they were talking about?" Katerina glanced at the Chinese-style screen behind her and asked in a low voice.

"Yes. I know this civil organization. Its founder was shot and killed by the Gambino family, one of the five major mafia families in New York in June 1992." Gloria said after eating a mouthful of turkey.

"So, what does this 'guardian angel' do?"

"Take lawful action to protect yourself and assist the police in maintaining law and order."

"Oh, then, their lives are in danger at any moment?"

"Yes, but they have a lofty image of heroes in the hearts of the local people."

Katerina nodded, "Hero, I see. Some Americans like comic book superheroes very much, so it's natural for them to connect comic books with reality."

Gloria glanced at her with a smile, "Very good! Well, you like reading comics too?"

When Regina walked into the kitchen, she spoke English to her father, who was wearing a chef's uniform and a chef's hat, and said, "Daddy, I have something to tell you."

Father turned his face and glanced at her, "Sweetheart, today is Christmas, why are you so serious?"

"All I want to say is that tonight I'm going on patrol in Paramore."

"What? No! If you go on patrol at other times, I can promise you. But today is Christmas, and our family will be happy to stay at home for the holidays."

"Really? But, how did I see that the door of the restaurant is still open, and you and Mommy are going to make a lot of money from the Americans?"

"Sweetheart, the restaurant is the foundation of our family! Without a restaurant, what can I give you to go to the oldest, most famous and historic private university in Florida."

The mother, who was settling accounts in the restaurant, seemed to hear the quarrel coming from the kitchen.Following the voices of the father and daughter, they walked into the kitchen, "What's the matter with you two? Must there be a dispute at Christmas?"

"No, I don't want to. If you want to know, ask your precious daughter." The father turned around and said.

"Sweetheart, what's the matter?" The mother walked to Regina's side and asked with a smile, stroking her daughter's head.

"Mum, I'm 21 years old this year. According to the US Constitution, I have reached the legal drinking age. When I was 18 years old, I also got a legal gun license, right?" Regina said calmly .
