Every unemployed twenty-something thinks of himself as a writer.Louis was different from them, he was indeed a writer, the famous kind.Since the fantasy novel he published at the age of 27 became an instant hit, he has half a foot in the upper circles of London. In just one year, endless balls, salons and beautiful women have polished the simple town youth into the lover of Viscountess Malfoy.Only occasionally, when the woman in his arms fell into a deep sleep, those things that fascinated him in his youth would visit the dreamland: the weeping nightingale in the golden cage, the fiery red rose, the woman in white in the attic of the old castle, the forest water monster and the plain. The dwarf on ... reminded him that he hadn't written anything decent in a long time. Now he only writes the kind of unrefined love stories hidden under gorgeous robes, so as to win the affection of court ladies. How can those women understand the temptation of water monsters?

Tonight was the day when Viscount Malfoy held a ball, and he would naturally be one of the witnesses of this gorgeous din.According to the custom, he would get himself drunk before those unmarried men and women exchanged glances.

"Are you all right, sir?"

Louis shook his head. The one who supported him was a strange young man, dressed like other nobles, and his bright red hair was quite eye-catching.Louis thanked him in a low voice, and the young man smiled at him.For some reason, that smile gave Louis interest in the conversation.

"I don't think I've seen you, sir?"

"I'm not in good health, so I don't often come to such occasions." The red-haired young man smiled and glanced at the dancing men and women in the hall, "But I know you, and I have read your works."

Louis had heard such politeness before, but the young man's words sounded extremely sincere, which warmed his ears.

"Why, don't you believe it?" said the red-haired young man, taking out a small book from the inside of his suit, "Here, I've read "The Madwoman in the Attic" five times. I'm so curious, what do you think of the witch? So familiar? Do you know some of them?"

The music lingers, the gentleman's smoke lingers, and the ladies' perfume lingers.Louis stared wide-eyed, suspecting that he was dazed by the atmosphere and alcohol in the hall, so he didn't understand the young man's words. He asked if he "knows witches"?Doesn't he know that these things are all made up out of thin air?By the way, no wonder he said just now that he was not in good health... This man is probably a stupid son hidden in a noble family. He was brought here by his parents today, intending to use his skin to trick an ignorant lady into getting engaged... …

"Why don't you speak?" The red-haired young man waved his five fingers in front of his eyes. "I also want to ask you, why don't you write such stories anymore? Why are your recent books so ugly?"

Louis took a sip of wine silently, confirming his guess once again. He'd better go away quickly, the Viscountess might need him now, but the strange temperament of the young man stuck to his feet.Hey, you can't blame a young writer who loves fantasy and gets drunk.

Louis picked up the bottle and the two glasses. "It's a long story. It's too noisy in here," he said to the young man. "If you don't mind, let's go out and get some air. I happen to know a quiet place where I won't meet any lovebirds."

The young man was obviously moved, but also a little uneasy, looking around in the hall with his blue eyes.

"Is there someone you are looking for? I can help you."

"No need." The young man straightened his curly red hair, with a childish look on his face, "I just planned to scare him."

And so there it was.The best place to chat in Viscount Malfoy's Mansion is this small attic.Louis opened the window and watched comfortably as the smoke drifted into the darkness. After he finished smoking a cigarette, he thought of the young man behind him: "Come here, sir, can you drink?"

The youth shook his head. "It hasn't changed at all here." He said, with a hint of nostalgia in his tone.Just as Louis was confused, he moved closer to him and took out the novel in his arms again.Louis saw that he had indeed read it many times, which was not normal. Who would reread a fantasy novel just to pass the time?

"I've always wanted to see you," said the young man, "because you're the person I've ever met who knows the most about witches, but... look here, you've written the habits of the nixes wrong..."

Louis pushed the glass back a little. "What did you say, sir?"

"Nyxes don't always seduce passers-by, unless they're hungry." The young man said selfishly, pointing to the underlined place in the book, "When you wrote that Lena seduced Ronald, she said she couldn't help herself , couldn't help but cast a charm on him - this is wrong, the water demon can only be unable to control the magic spell when he is extremely hungry - in fact, it is not a "charm", it just releases aphrodisiac in his saliva That's all... All in all, the legendary "charm" is just a hunting skill for the water demon, not a performance of falling in love. This is the deepest misunderstanding of human beings about the water demon. In fact, the water demon is choosing a lover is very conscious at times, like a human being..."

"Hey, wait, wait." Louis grabbed the young man's shoulder, "Are you an expert in this?"

The young man's face turned red all of a sudden. "Oh, I'm... I've seen quite a few nixes..."

"Then you must know a lot of interesting stories!" Louis sobered up, and he stood up straight, "Tell me, please, if you want, I can also write your story into a novel! Yes, I should have done something like this long ago!"

The young man licked his lips, as if he was making an extremely solemn decision.

Louis couldn't remember how long it was before he heard the young man say, "Well, I did hear a good story, but I promised not to reveal the real names of the characters."

"Understandable." Louis nodded, "You can make up a fake name, I don't mind."

"I'm not very good at naming names." The young man said slowly, his voice sank into the night, like a pile of sand blown away by the wind, allowing time to pass through it.

"It's better for you to get up."

Those blue pupils stared into him, and the young man licked his lips again.Louis' vision blurred for an instant, leaving only blue and red spots of light in his field of vision.

"Of course." He heard himself say at the beginning of the dream.

☆、Chapter126 Tom Riddle's Memory (7)

Merope's hands were trembling slightly, she tried to touch the glowing door and the people mourning behind it, but she couldn't reach it.As Dumbledore said, that door wasn't really connected to Riddle's space yet.

"Close your eyes, Merope," said the voice behind her. "This door can save your son."

"Sir, my son, what has happened to him?"

The voice was silent for a long time, and several souls who had reached the door raised their heads after a long time. "He is a child who lacks love." The teenager leaned into her ear, "very lacking. He lost his parents' company since he was a child, and could only live in a Muggle orphanage, so that he didn't know that his ability was magic. In In that oppressive environment, he used it as a tool to gain attention and vent his hatred."

"His desire for attention and even fear from a young age has led him down a path of evil. Miss Merope, I hope you don't blame yourself too much, as I once told you, your My son is a wizard with great potential, in fact, his talent is rare in a hundred years. Now, he needs your help, as long as you open this door, I can save him."

A gentle force caressed her lower abdomen. "He's still here now, a soft baby with so much potential in his body. He's part of your body now, and you can use his power to speak to him and tell him how much you need his help, He'll feel it."

Merope closed his eyes. After a long journey in just one day, her body has already been overwhelmed, and the child in her stomach is absorbing her nutrition without knowing it.Son, they say you're going to grow up to be a smart, tyrannical person, the exact opposite of your mother. How much she wants to travel through time to see what you look like when you grow up, but they say she is dying. She is not a person who is used to complaining. If she really wants to complain, then there is not much to cherish in her life, because even the remaining goodness is covered with a false background. She still remembers the first ray of sunlight shining on the window sill in the morning, and your father once touched her lips with a smile and said he loved her.But that is not true love. She wants you to become a person who can love and be loved in the future, not like her.

Children, let's fulfill her last wish with mother.Let that door come through, let those dead souls come into this world. They know everything and they will help you.Come on, stretch out your little hand and work hard with your mother, okay? They say you are a child who is indifferent because of lack of love, but you shouldn't be like this to your mother, right?

Ron stood behind Merope for a long time, witnessing the light from the door turn from weak to soft, and then to glaring. He held the water jug and towel in his hand, comforting Merope when she was exhausted.Looking at the weak woman in front of him, he felt an unspeakable guilt. How could there be such a stupid woman in the world? It's so easy to believe a stranger's side of things. However, perhaps this is Tom Riddle's fantasy about his mother. In this respect, he is no different from ordinary people.

"I seem to smell the sea breeze." Regulus said suddenly. The crowd that had dispersed behind him also regrouped, and Sirius came, his eyes meeting Ron through the tense air, a smile on his lips.As he's said in the past, he's good at spotting people under the cloak of invisibility.

Ron put the water to Merope's mouth. "We're almost there." His voice trembled. The image behind the curtain coincided with what he saw in Regulus' space, its light flooding into this world with the sound of the tide.It was completely dark, and Merope's hands were covered with sweat, so slippery that Ron couldn't hold them.I don't remember when, the souls behind the curtain came forward one after another, holding hands tightly.Perhaps it was Dumbledore's enlightenment before, or Merope's painful expression, which made some souls who had forgotten the world decide to overdraw their remaining energy to help the real world tide over the difficulties.

"Sir, look—"

Ron stood up, Sirius' hand on his shoulder.Regulus also walked over from the other side of the curtain, and the three of them together hugged the weak Merope and carried her back to the world of the soul.

"What should I do next?"

"The next fragment of Riddle's space is his own birth, which was blank before. We just need to make Voldemort and Merope meet before Riddle's birth."

"You mean, you want to take Merope through time."

"That's right." Ron nodded, "Did Dumbledore leave any hints for you?"

"Dumbledore hasn't tried going back in time in space," Regulus said, "but he told me before he left that maybe it's a safer way to find a middle ground."

"Yeah, I thought so too," said Ron.They don't know how the necklace that can turn back time and space for an hour in reality will work in the space they created. Therefore, it is safe to choose a middle point in Riddle's space where Merope and Voldemort meet. way.But this also meant that he had to face Voldemort directly and take him to Merope.

This is a life-threatening operation.

"Don't worry, we will help you." Sirius patted him on the shoulder, "Although we have become souls, at least we still retain a little magic ability. At that time, I will call a few people to guard you, in case Unexpected."

"Then, let's repeat the plan again. Before Merope gives birth, we will send her through the veil to some intermediate segment, and then send a group of people to lead her to Little Hangleton's graveyard, which is Voldemort's rebirth. place, the end of Riddle's space."

"At the same time, Sirius and I took people to use the veil to find Voldemort at the end point. Once he was reborn, I would use time travel back to bring him back to the middle point, so that he and Merope could meet. If we guessed right, at this time the space It will collapse immediately, we must enter the Veil world as soon as we get the Horcrux, and then I will return to the corridor from Regulus' space and destroy the Horcrux."

"There's nothing serious about Merope," said Regulus. "I'll take her to Little Hangleton as soon as possible. But you must remember that even in his relatively weak days when Voldemort was newly reborn, he had The power to kill. He can do magic without a wand, and he has a lot of Death Eaters around him to protect him."

"This matter still needs to be discussed." Sirius signaled his younger brother to take Merope to the guest room of Black's house to rest, and a young couple who had just passed away also rushed to take care of her.Merope's belly is already big, and Ron can't determine the exact time of delivery. They should discuss it, but it must be done as soon as possible.

Sirius assembled the team selected by Dumbledore, James and Lily also came, and most of the rest of the witches and witches worked in the Ministry of Magic during their lifetime, and their magic was equally superb.Although after becoming spirits, they can no longer use wands, but as compensation, their bodies can resist stronger attacks.

"Avada Kedavra doesn't work for me anymore." The ex-Ministry of Magic Law Enforcement Director patted his chest. "It just makes me sleep better." Ron guessed that Avada Kedavra would make Their souls become weaker and thus enter the world of death.Even though it wasn't a "murder" in the true sense of the word, he still didn't want it to happen.

"I have seen Voldemort's rebirth ceremony in Draco's memory." Ron said, "Peter Pettigrew presided over the ceremony. The ceremony needs the bones of the father, the flesh of the servants and the blood of the enemy. We must hurry Get to Voldemort before the third step."

"I have an idea!" Sirius raised his hands happily, "James and I can scare that traitor! I've wanted to do that for a long time!"

"I'll join too." Lily winked at him and James. "Even though we're dead, we can still summon the Patronus, can't we?" She walked up to Ron and put her arms around him. "Don't be afraid," she said, "You just have to give it your all, and if you're nervous, think of it as a big show, and if you screw it up, we'll cover it."

Lily is a different mother than Molly, but their concerns are the same. When Ron walked into the memory of the finish line, he wondered what it would be like if Harry was here, if Lily had never been absent. Not only Harry, but also many people in the wizarding world. If Voldemort hadn't appeared, they would have had many ifs.

It never occurred to him that one day he would need to capture Voldemort with his own hands. In my impression, this is by no means what an underage child should do.But right now, he was walking in the forest next to Little Hangleton Cemetery, and he didn't feel too much fear. The forest is filled with white mist, and the grass underfoot makes rustling sounds. Apart from this, the world seems to have lost all signs of life, leaving only boundless loneliness.

However this is not true.Sirius was holding his hand, and the other spirits were all around him.He is not fighting alone.

Ron saw the crack.Draco relied on that crack to transfer Harry from the maze to Little Hangleton. It is a space the size of two classrooms. If you carefully distinguish it, it is easy to find, because the trend of the fog inside the crack is different from other places.Ron walked in among the Death Eaters, staring at the package in Pettigrew's hand, which contained Voldemort. But not yet, he had to fish it out of the cauldron after it had finished its ritual.

He cast cryogenic magic on his hands. After another long wait, Harry and Cedric finally appeared in a panic.Cedric was driven by Draco to the edge of the rift, Harry was at the forefront, and Pettigrew and the other Death Eaters still guarded the cauldron tightly.

"Father's bones, donated unintentionally, can make your son regenerate!"

"Servant's meat, donated voluntarily, can regenerate your master!"

Ron's left hand was pinched, and he felt Sirius leave his side.He drifted to Pettigrew's side without a sound. The other party had just cut off his arm, and the voice seemed to be filled with a terrifying smell of blood.

"The blood of your enemy...forced to sacrifice...will bring your enemy back to life!"

Before Pettigrew could finish speaking, the Death Eaters' ranks were disrupted.Ron rushed forward with a stride, and threw a powerful stun spell at a touch of white in the cauldron. There was chaotic shouting from the ranks of Death Eaters, and Pettigrew was yelling "There's a sneak attack! More than one!" The Death Eaters who reacted began to shoot spells into the air, but the magic did nothing but confuse the airflow in the crack use.

Pettigrew looked at the air around him in horror. He didn't dare to tell others that when he uttered the third incantation, he seemed to see strange figures from the cauldron, and he recognized those figures—it was Sirius, James and Lily, the three His expression looked very sad. When he turned his head in horror, he found that they were smiling and disappearing behind him in an instant! His legs went limp and he fell to the grass, and he didn't know where to throw his wand. He could only yell for someone to attack and crawl around on the ground. However, the nightmare did not let him go. Someone started talking in his ear, using Lily And Jaime's voice!

"Peterina, what are you doing here?"

"Peterina, do you remember me? When you came to Godric's Hollow, we treated you kindly, but how did you repay us?"

"Peterina, you won't forget that I saved you from those who bullied you at school, right?"

"No, no, shut up! Get away from me! Not me! Not me!"

When the other Death Eaters stopped casting spells and looked at each other suspiciously, Pettigrew was still babbling on the floor.People who can be invisible are rare, and a group of people who can be invisible is even more unheard of. Could it be that the Hogwarts remember me ghost attacked them? The puzzled Death Eaters grabbed Pettigrew from the ground, only to find that the owner of the pot had disappeared.

……

It wasn't until the Death Eaters scattered under the guidance of Pettigrew that Ron and the others returned to the crack from the forest.According to the plan, Regulus would take Merope to his own funeral (because that happened to be the midpoint of Riddle's memory), and lead Merope to wait in the crack. Now, they and Voldemort are also standing in the same position, they only need to use time and space to go back to the same segment, they will meet, and this journey to find the Horcrux will also come to a successful end...

Ron closed his eyes.Draco was so good at time travelling, he taught him how to do it.In the world of necklaces, spiritual power is the only way to manipulate it.Just like summoning the patron saint, you need to outline your spiritual power in your mind, imagine it as an entity with full power, and then you need to manipulate it and make it obey your will to overcome the difficulties in front of you.

Just like that, a lively hound appeared in front of him.Right now it's jumping up and down the aisle of necklaces. "Take me to the piece of Regulus' funeral, land here," Ron said to the Hound.

The Hound seemed to understand his commands. In a few moments, Ron and the phantoms of the ghosts appeared beside the Hound - a sign of success. The hound walked outside Tom Riddle's space door, lowered his head and sniffed, and barked excitedly behind him a few times, reminding them that they would land again soon.Ron put aside the last distracting thoughts in his heart, this is the most critical moment, and no mistakes are allowed.

Take me to the segment of Regulus' funeral, land here.he repeated solemnly.

However, something weird happened. The door of Riddle's space opened slowly, but the vortex guiding the landing did not appear.Inside the door was a sealed wall, a small white glaze suddenly appeared from nowhere, jumped to the side of the hound, and rubbed its hind legs affectionately. The hound bent its tail uncontrollably, and circled the white glaze behind itself.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Draco."

"But he's not in the necklace."

"You're not in the corridor either."

Ron realized that the white glaze was part of Draco's spiritual power left in the space. At school, he'd never seen him summon a Patronus, and over time he thought Draco, like the rest of his family, was destined not to have a Patronus.

"Why did you stop the time travel?"

"You don't have permission to turn back time." The ferret glanced at him. "The other half of the necklace is still on me."

"But you and I have shared necklaces for a long time, haven't we?" Ron said eagerly, "When we were in Snape's space, I said I could help you share... wait," his expression froze. , "You didn't do that, did you?"

The ferret said nothing, but Ron got it all.Draco did not abide by the previous agreement between the two at all, and he has always been the only person to smoke the necklace.

"You can change the contract now."

"I can't, I'm not the 'real' Draco." The ferret licked the Hound's nose, "I'm just a bit of mental power he's storing up here. He's worried you'll enter Riddle's space, so keep me in Here to protect you." The ferret turned to look at him, "If you use time travel, I can't support this consumption."

"...What will happen if you can't support this kind of consumption?"

"The necklace will directly devour his spirit."

Draco had lied to him about something important again. Why is the other party always like this?Ron lowered his eyelashes. He knew that going back in time and space would consume far more energy than entering space.Draco should still be by Voldemort's side now, he couldn't hold him back. However, he can't easily give up his plan with the ghosts...

"If you don't use time travel, how long can you last?"

"Enough for you to stay here for three days."

"Enough," said Ron softly.Three days was enough time for their plan, they couldn't keep Voldemort by their side for too long, not to mention that they had to act before Merope gave birth.

If you don't use time travel, you can only consider the second plan-let Voldemort and Merope meet in the world of veil. This meant they had to take Voldemort all the way from Little Hangleton to the cave by the sea.

Ron silently backed out of the corridor and told the ghosts that the plan had changed and that they had to use the second plan.He didn't explain Draco to them, just let them think that he didn't have the ability to turn back time and space.Perhaps subconsciously, he didn't know whether his choice was right or wrong—in order to avoid Draco's suspicion, he put himself and the ghosts in a more dangerous situation.

Fast, as fast as you can.

That was Ron's only thought as he ran.Disapparation was unavailable in space, and he had to bring Voldemort back to the cave as soon as possible.Although the stun spell was very successful, the ritual was complete and the rebirth of Voldemort's body did not stop. The sight of Riddle's bones, Pettigrew's flesh, and Harry's blood clung to the already disgusting pale torso, healing little by little, was simply unsightly.Ron could imagine that in a limited time, he would not be able to lift the package at all.

"We will help you." Sirius' voice came from beside him.

"Are you all okay?"

"Mr. Brown's been cursed," said James. "He'll sleep well."

The sky was dyed in a gorgeous color by the sunset, and the beauty revealed a madness and weirdness. The wind was blowing towards them, which was more like a warning issued after the space was unstable.

Little Hangleton is still a long way from the sea.

……

When the group arrived at the nearest subway station to Little Hangleton, it was already completely dark.Sirius reassured Ron that he'd bet none of the Death Eaters and Muggle haters knew what a subway station was, but neither did Sirius himself.A bunch of ghosts, relying on Muggles not being able to see them, chatted endlessly in front of the subway map.As the only living person in the team, Ron used a spell to transform himself into a simple and honest office worker, and the sleeping Voldemort was covered under the invisibility cloak—so far, three passers-by almost fell when they passed by him. Upside down.

He had to get Voldemort out of the way before taking the subway.Right now, the dark lord who made the wizarding world feared has completely recovered to his reborn physique, and he is half a head taller than Ron. From little Hangleton to the seaside.

Ron walked over to the subway map. "Is there a place where wizards gather along this road?"

"Diagon Alley?" Sirius pointed to the red dot on the stop sign, "It's in London, this stop is very close to Diagon Alley." Ron nodded, remembering that Harry had said that he and Hai The first time Greg went to Diagon Alley was by subway.

"We're going to Diagon Alley first," said Ron. "We need a suitcase that can hold him."

Ron couldn't buy a subway ticket, and even though he had an invisibility cloak, it took a lot of work to get both himself and Voldemort through the ticket gates.Looking at the ghosts chatting across the turnstile, Ron felt a sense of collapse in his heart.Hey, Voldemort shouldn't even have thought that he would experience the Muggle subway in a coma.

Fortunately, the subway has thoughtful arrival reminders so that they will not miss the station. After entering Diagon Alley, Ron was relieved, but this also meant that they had returned to the familiar territory of the Death Eaters.Death Eaters can be linked with the Dark Symbol, and Diagon Alley is undoubtedly one of their favorite places.

"The sooner we get out of here the better," Ron reminded the remaining seven ghosts. "Just to be on the safe side, Sirius and I will guard him here, and the rest of us will go find the suitcase that has the retracting spell cast on it."

After the six ghosts left one after another, Ron realized that he had made a big mistake. He didn't have time to change clothes after entering Diagon Alley, and he still maintained the appearance of a Muggle office worker, which was too eye-catching.He uttered a stun spell to the beggar sitting at the entrance of the alley, and while walking into the depths of the alley, he stripped off his trousers and white shirt, replaced them with the beggar's clothes, and reshaped his face according to that man's appearance. Fan.Luckily, it was already dark, and he could only hope that the Death Eaters in Diagon Alley weren't so perceptive.

As soon as he came out of the alley, he was pushed back by a force.

"Finally found you!" It turned out to be James who came back with a suitcase, "Quick, put that guy in!"

"Wait, didn't you meet Sirius at the alley?" Ron had an ominous premonition in his heart, and the doubt on James' face confirmed his guess—the alley was empty, and both Sirius and the unconscious Voldemort gone. There was a glimmer of hope, after all, that Sirius was now an invisible ghost, and Voldemort was covered with an invisibility cloak - but they really disappeared out of thin air.Although ghosts can see through each other's invisibility, they cannot communicate with each other, and James and the others are helpless about it.

Not only that, but Diagon Alley is starting to get a little weird.Since Ron came out of the alley, there were fewer pedestrians on the road. The residents upstairs didn't know what to notice, and opened the windows to look out from time to time, so Ron and his party had to hide in the alley.

What happened? Are the Death Eaters coming?Or are the people in the space starting to notice something is wrong? The latter is a more dire situation, if space collapses prematurely... Damn it, where is Sirius?

They promised to leave this dangerous place where fish and dragons mixed together as soon as possible, but now they are trapped here inexplicably.Ron clenched his fists, letting his nails dig into his flesh. It's my fault, he thought, that I wasn't careful enough for someone to spot it, that must be it.Had Sirius already been captured by the Death Eaters? Will the mission fail? Why didn't he listen to Draco in the first place? He should have known that the space would not allow them to take away the Horcrux so smoothly. If it was because of him that Harry couldn't see Sirius from now on, he would hate himself for the rest of his life.

"Ron, calm down." During James' heated discussion, Lily walked up to him quietly and put her arms around his shoulders. "Sirius must have noticed something was wrong and fled first with Voldemort. Now even we can't find him, which may be a good thing." She leaned into his ear, "I know you are blaming yourself for not turning back time and space , but now is not the time to cry, be a man and take responsibility for our plans."

Lily's words gave him strength.Ron nodded embarrassedly: "You're right. The Death Eaters don't understand ghosts and invisibility cloaks. Even if they really came, they wouldn't be able to catch Sirius soon—"

"The most important thing now is that we have to make sure that the Death Eaters who participated in the ceremony haven't come here, and there are no other problems in the space." James walked over and joined their conversation, "Let's go up to the sky to see , you might find something."

"No matter what the result is, we have to gather here in an hour, time is running out." Ron added, and the ghosts agreed. Before leaving, James stuffed the suitcase with the stretching charm into his arms.

"Where did you find this?" Ron asked.

"It's not easy to find this thing," Mr. Jin interjected. "Passers-by rarely have such high-end goods, so we had to go to Gringotts to try our luck and see if anyone would go there to save money at night. I really ran into one—of course I know it’s not good, but isn’t this a virtual space..."

"The man will definitely report to the Ministry of Magic." As Ron said, he suddenly realized that this time it might not be the space or the Death Eaters, the suitcase was the reason everything went wrong.

"Have you opened the box?"

The ghosts shook their heads.

"Wait for me." Ron dropped this sentence and jumped into the box in a hurry. As soon as he entered, he was frightened by the piles of gold Galleons. It all made sense now that it wasn't the Death Eaters who had come, but the Enforcement Department, and they had issued home warnings to the homes of the residents of Diagon Alley, so people on the street were in a hurry.Aurors use this method to track down outsiders.

In other words, apart from plainclothes Aurors and non-Diagon Alley residents, the only ones left on the streets are homeless beggars.Ron escaped the eyes of the Aurors because he happened to be dressed as a beggar and stayed in the alley with the ghosts.

Could it be that Sirius hid in a safer place because he discovered this earlier than him?If that was the case, he wouldn't be able to get very far with Voldemort.Ron looked around and found that there were several grocery stores with closed doors at the entrance of the alley. Sirius probably hid in the store before closing to avoid danger, but now he couldn't get out with Voldemort.

Coming around the corner were two plainclothes Aurors who seemed to be tasked with scouting the street.Ron and the ghosts watched as the two Aurors knocked on the door of the first shop.

"There's Sirius!" James exclaimed suddenly.

"What? Where is he?" Ron asked, confused.

"Sirius is standing in front of the shop," Lily explained. "He's invisible, so you can't see him."

The ghosts hurried across the street to the door of the shop. The two Aurors had already gone in, and their plan was to bring Voldemort out while the Aurors were coming out.Ron wasn't sure the ghosts could play trained Aurors like Pettigrew, but now that he had lost the cloak, he could just watch from across the street...

"Hey, old guy."

Ron was patted on the shoulder vigorously, and he turned his head suddenly in fright. He saw a man wearing a wide-brimmed hat standing behind him, holding a copper Knut in his hand. Due to the darkness, Ron could not see clear his face. With his experience in dealing with Death Eaters, Ron had an intuition that he was the kind of informant that Snape said was for the Death Eaters.
