prehistoric modern man

Chapter 9 Conflict

As soon as she took a few steps, the woman put down the child and ran over. Her hair was still dripping with water. The drops of water slid down her face and neck, all the way down, and when she finally landed on the ground, it was the same color as the ground, black.

Ji Chi withdrew his gaze and subconsciously wiped his face.

The woman grinned and put her hands together. Because her nails were too long and curved, she could only close them and put them on her chest. She kept nodding her head to him, as if expressing her gratitude.

Ji Chi couldn't find a suitable expression to respond for a while, and remained silent.

The woman didn't get the reaction she should have, and suddenly became anxious. She clasped her fingernails on his wrist and shook her head, still nodding her head.

Several people on the shore watched them.

Ji Chi thought for a while, then raised his hand hesitantly, imitating her by clasping his hands together, and nodded as a response, if she insisted.

The woman froze for a moment, but after realizing it, she still didn't change her previous actions.

Ji Chi was helpless, he struggled back with his hand, and withdrew it.

Before turning around, Ji Chi glanced at the shore habitually, and the gazes of those people had passed them and fell behind him.

Ji Chi paused, and while looking back out of the corner of his eye, his body instinctively moved to the left.

In the next second, a stone broke through the sound of the wind and flew over quickly, hitting the woman on the forehead.

Ji Chi was stunned, and first glanced at the woman's condition. There was bleeding on her forehead, and she had already fallen to the ground. Looking back, a tall figure quickly rushed over and squatted beside the woman, helped her up and shook a few times, did you see her? In response, the man suddenly let out a whimper, carefully put down the woman and then suddenly flew into the air, swinging the wooden stick in his hand directly towards Ji Chi who was a few steps away.

Because he was also observing the situation of the woman, Ji Chi's reaction was a little slow when he dodged. The wooden stick brushed past his ear with a force that split people in half, and landed on his right shoulder.

Because of the huge pain, Ji Chi staggered to the right for a moment, then stood firm, and quickly bent down to avoid the man's second blow.

The right half of his shoulder started to go numb, and Ji Chi slowed down, barely dodging the man's random attack.

While dodging, he quickly analyzed in his mind why the man would attack him suddenly.Needless to say, the stone was thrown at him.

Although the people here did not accept him as an outsider, they did not attack him for no reason. He hadn't seen the man's face before, perhaps because of the fallen woman?

If yes, what would be the reason.

Maybe he did something unintentionally, or maybe the woman's actions made the man misunderstand something.

In fact, it doesn't matter what the reason is, the important thing is that something has happened, and he can't explain it.

The people on the shore had already gathered, and the people who came out of the woods were also walking towards here curiously.
