Chapter 6 Perry and Alcohol

"You have a breath of peace about you."

"When I wasn't a doctor?"

"Although you treated the wound for me, I really can't do it if I want to thank you." Barnes shrugged, and the corner of his mouth turned down. "After all, it really hurts like hell."

Barnes was more than a head taller than himself, so Perry had to look up at him, especially during close encounters like dancing.

From this point of view, as a man, Sergeant Barnes' eyes are too good-looking.

From their first step on the dance floor, someone whistled non-stop.But Barnes just looked over with a smile, and the whistles of his comrades in Perry's ears had a completely different meaning from the whistle brother who was knocked down by Margaret.

"Have you never been in a medical tent before, Sergeant Barnes?"

The next beat, Perry twirls in his arms.

"Actually, before that, I had very few injuries." He lowered his head, still smiling.

He danced forward, and Perry was inattentive, and his jaw hit his head.

He took a step back. The wobbly Perry was pulled up to his feet.

"I'm really sorry, Perry." He looked at the pair of green eyes staring over with a little irritability. Perry, she looks like a cat trying to scratch people now... Yes, that's right, she can lift after becoming sperm The kind with needles!

Therefore, it is more appropriate to use opal to describe her eyes.

"I was distracted, Sergeant Barnes." She glanced away, trying not to meet his eyes.

I really don't know what distracts me.

"You're always reminding me that I'm not as high in rank as Steve, doctor." Barnes' smile made him show his white teeth. When he smiled, his eyes narrowed slightly, but they were always bright.

Why do eyes glow?Must be the lighting is so good tonight, it would be perfect to move a few into the medical tent.

"So I gotta say, Dr. Carter, you can't just call me Sergeant."

"I remember your name was James..."

"Just call me Bucky."

It is a typical American soldier's style, and there is always a bit of ruffian in his serious smile.

Perry looked at him, feeling that distraction was justifiable.

"b—u—c—k—y?" She spelled out one by one, imitating his previous appearance.

A pair of kitten-like green eyes stared into a pair of ever-sparkling blue eyes.

Perry couldn't help laughing. "I think it would be better for you to be called Bambi, the little guy in '42."

"I'm bigger than that Bambi, Perry. You're a little guy." Barnes' left hand firmly supported her waist.Perry laughed and fell back in his arms.

A perfect end to a dance.Whistles sounded all around again.

"What if I'm an old witch who has lived for hundreds of years? Who is Bambi in 42 years?" She walked to the bar, tapped the table with her fingers, and the bartender brought another glass of fresh beer.

"Please, Bambi. It's my apology for hitting too hard."

"If I drank it, I'd be Bambi, wouldn't I?"

"I didn't mean that." Perry said, about to pull the glass of beer over, but Bucky clasped his hand firmly on the glass.

His fingertips brushed the back of her hand, and the wine glass was brought into his hand.Perry watched Barnes's Adam's apple go up and down as he swallowed the beer... For a moment she forgot about the skinning medical books.

Skins are really important.

"Speaking of it, this seems to be the third time we've met."

"Why, is it still too slow for the little prince of Brooklyn?" Perry pinned a strand of hair behind her ear, and her long black hair was casually scattered on the military uniform. She bit the black hair rope on her wrist, and tied a low ponytail in two or three strokes.

Just like the usual Dr. Carter, he exudes a lazy atmosphere.

Green eyes and military uniform really match.Sure enough, Bucky thought, Perry would be fine without that white coat.

"If we hadn't quarreled the first time we met, and I hadn't poured alcohol all over you and wrapped you into a mummy the second time."

Perry's face was still flushed with alcohol, and the red face and green eyes matched inexplicably harmoniously. Her voice was soft and cold, and every word she spoke had a British taste.

Pretty and not cloying, like a rose from England.

It would be more perfect to be a doctor if you don't just drop a bottle of alcohol as soon as you raise your hand.

"Where did Margaret go?" Perry looked around the tavern, soldiers from all over the world were still drinking happily.

"They went out before we danced." Bucky put down his empty glass and stood up. "Your mission is over, Perry."

She withdrew her gaze from looking for Margaret and looked up at him. "Then I'm leaving, I hope the next time I see you is not in the medical wing."

"I want..." Bucky thought for a while. "Send you back?"

"Forget it, I'm more familiar with you than you when I go to a place with alcohol."

“I was actually quite impressed with that too.”

"Actually, I think I can introduce you to Green, the little nurse in the medical team over there. She is blond, blue-eyed, kind-hearted, and the most important thing is that she is light-handed. Many soldiers went to her to bandage like crazy."

"Then I'd better not join in the fun. It's not just a joke to add injury to injury. It's okay to be injured by the German army, but what's the matter if you get beaten by your own people."

The two of them walked out of the tavern while talking.

The night is deep and the sky is full of stars.

"It's not that far away, doctor." Bucky looked at her.

Perry glanced at him, and the corners of his mouth raised in response.

After returning Perry to the medical tent, Sergeant Barnes strode toward the tavern again.

There is an air of peace about Perry Carter.

It's that familiar Brooklyn afternoon, the feeling of the sun shining on the brick floor of the alley.Even though she's a doctor who easily recalls bloody battlefields and wounds, her slouching when she jokes always makes herself feel at ease.

Maybe it's because she used to love to sleep in class, and her cat-like laziness is very similar to the afternoon sunshine that illuminates people dizzy when she sleeps in class.

He blew a whistle in a good mood, even though he was still on the front line, it was worth having another drink just for the feeling of being out of the battlefield for a short time.

Steve should have come back anyway, that Margaret—that is, Instructor Carter, what did they have to talk for so long... Thinking about it, Barnes felt that with Steve's personality, they might There is already a meeting in the command room.

After a few steps, Barnes heard a gunshot.

The sound of gunfire was especially piercing in the quiet night.

And the source of the sound seems to be... a medical tent.

Amidst the flames, the two fighting figures stood out.Perry dodged a straight punch from the opponent, and just as he was about to grab his wrist and throw him backwards, the butt of the gun in the opponent's other hand hit her on the back impartially.

She staggered a step, but the other party had already run far away.

Soldiers around heard the sound and ran over, and the alcohol in the medical tent quickly burned it up.

Perry looked down at the tight and narrow military skirt, tearing a slit on the side with both hands.

Now, running is much more convenient.

So Barnes, who had just rushed outside the tent, saw such a scene - the driving jeep and Perry who was running faster than flying.

Perry ran through the rows of tents, and when she turned the last corner, she managed to get around the jeep.

Behind him was a raging fire, and in front of him was a jeep rushing towards him.Perry drew his waist gun and pointed it at the man behind the car window.

One shot, shattering the glass.

Two shots were dodged.

The jeep got closer and closer, and Perry knew he had no chance of firing a third shot.

Barnes kept running, kept running. He seems to have never run so much today.A team went to put out the fire in the medical tent, and many others came out to chase the jeep.It is impossible for that person to run out of here. Could it be that he came here just to order a medical wing?

Where did Steve and that Instructor Carter go at this time—no!

Barnes suddenly realized something.

Then he saw Perry rushing towards the jeep that was about to run over her—

"Perry!"

——One rolled over and pressed against the car hood...

Perry lay on the hood and kicked the glass with his heel. The car wobbled to throw her off, and she reached out to grab the steering wheel with one hand, and punched him in the head with the other.Perry raised her leg to kick him, but she forgot that the man was carrying a gun.

The bullet passed through the thigh, spattering a stream of blood.

Anyway, it's already like this, so what else should I take care of.

Perry turned over and sat on the car window, and the heel smashed the glass in front of the other person again, hitting him directly in the face.

Then the whole person leaned back and punched him on the temple.

The jeep was about to crash into the shoreline.Just then, one of the car's tires blew out, and the jeep veered to the right, and finally hit the wall head-on.

The car stopped, and Perry rolled over from the car window, and when he landed, he wobbled and fell straight to the ground.

A big hole in my right leg was bleeding, like crazy.

"I blew a tire with one shot. I'm the sharpshooter in the regiment." Barnes walked up to her and held out a hand. "Doctor, is my marksmanship good?"

Perry looked at his outstretched hand, then at his own wound. "I'm sorry sir, but this shouldn't be the time to reward meritorious deeds. If the bleeding doesn't stop, I'm afraid it will die."

That's when Barnes noticed the bleeding wound on her leg.

Then, Perry heard the little prince from Brooklyn swear an expletive.

Next, Bucky Sharpshooter Barnes ran to the nearest medical wing with Perry in his arms and Carter, who was bleeding from the wound and was about to die.

There was no one in the medical wing. Barnes put Perry on the operating table and was about to call for someone, but Perry stopped him.

"Mr. Sharpshooter, I am the doctor." Perry took a deep breath. "Please pass me the equipment box next to it and...alcohol."

"By the way, help me hold the hemostat, and then hold down my aorta that is about to drain." She added.

Barnes' hands were now firmly pressed against Perry's thigh, and he watched the blood quickly flow over his fingers and soak the sheets, but Perry didn't cry out.

Then she completely tore her own skirt.

War makes girls more masculine than men.

Perry's skin was very fair, but Bucky felt that even if it was the first time he put his hand on a girl's thigh so directly, he didn't have any thoughts of beauty in his mind now.

Oh that's so un-Bucky in Brooklyn.

Bucky thought about it as he watched Perry pour a full bottle of alcohol over his wound.

!!!

"Are you okay...Perry?" Bucky looked up at her tentatively, but only saw Perry Carter biting his lower lip tightly and holding tweezers in his right hand.

And her response was squeezed out between her teeth - "What do you think?"

"I don't think you're well..." Bucky continued to look at the cleansed wound, and tried his best to suppress the trembling hand that went in to catch the bullet. He frowned. "Actually, you can shout out, it's okay for a girl to cry. Although the war makes girls more manly than men—"

The bullet landed on the white-painted iron plate with a clatter. Perry ignored his words, but picked up the needle and thread and began to sew up the wound.

This is a very simple and crude three stitches, more "intern" than the few stitches I sewed in Hydra.

Bucky couldn't help but look at the place on his waist that she had re-stitched. The stitches were arranged in a strict and orderly manner, as if they were buttoned from a textbook.

"The gauze is on your right hand." Perry's voice was hoarse and weak.

Barnes looked at the wound, which was no longer bleeding, and passed a roll of gauze over it.

Finally, Perry tied a bow.

"Thanks, Bucky," she said.

"..." Barnes wanted to say something, but finally opened his mouth but didn't say a word.

Perry also asked for his coat to be tied around his waist, while his own torn skirt was thrown into the medical waste bin.

Bucky folded his arms and looked at Perry, who was sitting on the operating table as if nothing had happened, his eyes staggered for a moment, and then quickly returned to his senses.

"Shall I take you home?" he asked.

"Without my skirt?"
