I love you, I won't kill you

Chapter 346 United States Parachuting Association

Sweet life always makes people have countless memories, but the pace of time has forced countless lovers to make a short separation.Whether this person likes a man, a woman or regards a pet as a "lover", a choice must be made at this time.

From the moment she drove through the Marine Corps checkpoint on Russell Road, Amanda knew that what happened next was out of her choice. And the only choice she has is how to stay in this familiar Marine Corps military base for 9 months.

In 9 months, many things can happen, and many people and things can have their own different endings. But what happened to Amanda has never changed. In other words, it is developing in a good direction.

On February 2, Amanda entered Quantico Base on the East Coast following her third order from the 22th Air Group. Then, when she was standing in a senior officer's office in the Marine Corps headquarters building, she received a new order.

This order is composed of a paper appointment letter, a bright silver metal rank and an increased part of the annual salary. Now, when any active-duty Marine, senior NCO or other officer encounters her, she is addressed as, "Sir, or Lieutenant McLaren."

The time went back to a week ago, February 09, 2, Sunday. At 15 o'clock in the morning, Julie, who was wearing a nightgown, opened the door and walked straight to the guest room on the second floor.

Julie looked at her parents' room on the front left, knocked lightly on the door, and whispered, "Sweetheart, are you asleep?"

In the room, there was a low voice, "No, come in."

"Hi! Uh, what's wrong with you?" Julie suddenly noticed that Amanda's face was a little abnormal.

"I'm fine. Uh, I just had a nightmare." Amanda sat on the edge of the bed and whispered something.

"Baby, it's okay, it's just a dream." Suddenly, Julie held her in her arms.

Then, holding her face in his arms, he said gently, "Are you worried that you will suffer from battlefield sequelae?"

Amanda smiled and didn't speak, just stood up and walked to the window, "I'm a Marine Corps pilot who has received strict training, I don't think I need to worry about things like 'battlefield aftereffects'."

Turning around, looking at Julie and smiling, "I just want to use something else to divert my attention. In other words, to reawaken the youthful vitality that exists in our bodies."

Julie was slightly dazed, then stood up with a smile, "Young and energetic? Well, a good idea. What do you think of hunting in national forest parks, diving in the Caribbean Sea, and rock climbing in Nevada?"

"Julie, have you forgotten what I wanted to do before 911/[-]?"

"God, I almost forgot about this. Ugh, I remember, you still love flying in the sky so much."

"Correct. When I parachuted in the Marine Corps, I thought it was a really magical thing to be in the air."

"Okay. Now, what do you want to do?" Julie stepped forward, hugged each other and asked.

"Well, before sending you back to Yale, we can drop by the US Parachute Association." Amanda said relaxedly.

"U.S. Parachute Association? I remember, it seemed to be..." Julie thought very seriously.

Amanda touched her face and added, "Fredericksburg, Virginia."

Julie nodded excitedly, "That's right, that's it. Uh, when are we going to leave?"

"Today, now. In a week, I'm reporting to Quantico."

"Oh, all right. So, how long is the drive from Chicago to Virginia?"

"748 miles (about 1204 kilometers), about 12 hours of driving."

Julie pulled the other party back to the bed, and when she sat down, she said, "Let me say goodbye to my parents, okay?"

Amanda shrugged, "Of course. In that case, we might not have time to go back to school."

"Honey, I'm about to graduate in three months. Now is the time for me to write my graduation thesis, so I don't have to go to school."

"Really? Oh, all right."

Finally, Amanda thought of another purpose for coming to Chicago this time. Then asked, "Uh, Angie's child, do your parents have any plans?"

Julie leaned against the door frame, thought about it, and said, "Uh, not yet. However, given Angie's special situation, I believe Mommy will make a choice soon."

After lunch, Jolie's mother put her arms around Amanda, "Oh, poor kid. Are you going to Iraq again?"

Amanda said softly, "No, I won't go. Don't worry, I'm still the same Amanda."

Julie's father said with a smile, "If you retire and want to find a job, you might as well consider the Chicago Police Department."

"Thank you, Mr. Acting Director." Amanda joked about Julie's father's job title.

"Daddy, Mommy, I'll send you an email." Julie stepped forward and hugged her parents respectively.

When getting into the car, Amanda waved at the two middle-aged men standing at the door.Whispered to Julie, "Wow, two-star acting chief! Well, why didn't you tell me about this?"

Julie fastened her seat belt, looked at her, and replied casually, "What? Oh, Daddy's position has indeed been promoted. I don't think it's a big deal."

"Please! An acting director with an annual salary of 25 US dollars is not something that anyone can become."

"What, you want to be a policeman?"

"No. Even if I'm going to be a federal police officer, I'll have to find a police station with air support."

After a night of rest at a local motel in Fredericksburg, the next morning the two arrived at the US Parachute Association at the south end of Center Avenue. After some contact with the front desk staff, the two learned some information.

Becoming a member is easy, but getting certified with the USA Parachute Association is not so simple. The first step is to complete the systematic and rigorous level 7 personal free fall skydiving certification. Each level includes a BASE jump with targeted learning objectives and must be satisfactorily demonstrated to advance to the next level.

Certifications from Levels 1 to 7 are Awareness of Free Fall (including learning in Ground School); Principles of Rotation; Hover Control Release; 90-degree turns; 360-degree turns and docking; aerobatics and personal certification .

Amanda didn't understand why there were so many levels, and asked the staff, "Is it necessary to obtain all certifications before entering the A-level license training program issued by the Parachute Association?"

The staff members with smiles on their faces nodded, "Yes, this sport will never be as simple as you drag racing on the street. You can imagine that when a person is in the air at a speed of 110 miles per hour (about 177 kilometers) Falling to the surface of the earth..."

"Okay, I can imagine that. So, what if I do an extreme skydive in a wingsuit?"

"What? Oh my god! That's really cool!!! But, you two just said you weren't certified?"

Amanda smiled, looked at Julie and then at the staff, "This girl is indeed not certified. What if I have this thing?"

When the staff member took her officer ID, she said in amazement, "Whoa, Marine Corps ensign pilot? You have a military background?"

"Well, yes. When I graduated from the Baris Island boot camp, I already got the Airborne badge of the Marine Corps." Amanda said seriously.

"I'm sorry, how much time does this level 7 certification need for training?" Julie asked in a timely manner.

"Oh, uh, under normal circumstances, the training is arranged every weekend. If there are special circumstances, you can make an appointment in advance. Of course, if you want a private package event, that's fine too." The staff stared at Amanda's officer ID card , said casually.

"So, how many days is this training time?" Amanda asked when she took her ID card.

"30 days. Oh, the training time for the A-level license is also 30 days." The staff member replied.
