I love you, I won't kill you

Chapter 40 Elena's Arrival

At two minutes past 11 a.m., Elena turned up outside the town of Jasmine in the red two-door Volkswagen Golf her father had bought for her.Driving all the way in, observing everything in the town and the residents on the streets on both sides of the road.

"This stinking bastard, just give me a house number and a road name, how can I find this? It's terrible, and it's my first time here!" Elena muttered from time to time.Acting like an active little girl, looking left and right at the house numbers on both sides of the road.

The speed of the car is not fast, because there are really not many cars driving on the road in the town. Therefore, Elena was so happy to drive the car that she almost missed the river.Staring at a small town police car coming out of the intersection on the right front, Elena couldn't help touching the steering wheel seriously.

"Hey, by the way, this police car belongs to the local sheriff. Ask him, it's better than looking for it yourself." Thinking of this, Elena stepped on the accelerator and accelerated to the side of the police car.

Nelson is in a good mood today. Although he didn't get the answer he wanted from his daughter, he is finally grown up and sensible. The eldest son, Vincent, was reluctant to let him be the deputy sheriff of the small town, but he was not happy that he could control his father.

Given Nelson's military background and rank at the time of his retirement, the town sheriff was happy to have someone like him on the patrol. Before Nelson could agree, he handed him the police badge and a [-]mm police gun.

Well, anyway, being idle at home means hunting and cooking for my daughter, so it's better to go to work. Moreover, the sheriff treats himself well, paying him at least $900 a week.Nelson smiled and drove the almost new police car out of the parking lot of the small town police station.

Both of them were driving, and it was impossible to have a conversation easily.Elena stepped on the accelerator again and drove the Golf to a stop in front of the police car.Nelson looked at the red golf with a little frown, "What's going on? Which little girl drank too much last night, so she must mess around early in the morning?"

He got out of the car, helped the [-]mm police gun hanging on the right side of his waist, stepped forward and lowered his head and asked, "Hey, little girl, is there any trouble for you? Please show your ID card and driver's license."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Well, are you the sheriff here? I want to ask you something." Elena looked up at the gray-haired Nelson and said.

While speaking, I couldn't help but have some doubts in my heart, "It's so funny! Is there no young people in this town? An old guy is actually hired as a patrolman."

After taking the ID from her, Nelson checked it carefully, "Hehe, little girl, I'm the deputy sheriff here. Are you from Virginia?"

Elena smiled embarrassedly, "Officer, I did drive here from Virginia. Well, I came here to find a friend. By the way, you should know the address. Let me show you."

Without looking at the address and house number on the note, Nelson said happily, "Little girl, can I ask who you want to contact? If I remember correctly, this seems to be the address of my home."

"My God!" Elena's eyes widened and she almost exclaimed. He hurriedly got out of the car and stepped forward with a smile, "Yes... I'm sorry, I want to find McLaren. Excuse me, police officer, are you...?"

"Oh, so I was looking for McLaren. Me, of course it's old McLaren. But, I don't seem to have such a beautiful little girl as you among my friends. Hehe."

After several explanations, Elena blushed and said, "So you are Amanda's father, I'm so sorry. Is she at home now?" She took a deep breath, secretly thankful that she didn't say what she had just ridiculed about Nelson .

Nelson nodded, with a smile still on his face, "It's okay! You go this way, drive to the second intersection ahead and turn left, until the end is my home. Amanda should be at home right now, I need to call her ?"

"No, no, thank you! Oh, Deputy Sheriff." Elena just wanted to disappear from Nelson's eyes. But she forgot that the deputy sheriff also came home from get off work.

After refueling all the way, I drove directly to the location described by Nelson and stopped. When I got out of the car, I saw Amanda standing at the door, and stepped forward to hug her tightly, "Damn it, why didn't you call me, you stinky bastard? I almost made a fool of myself."

Amanda didn't understand, so she let her hug her like this, "Hehe, what's wrong? My address here is easy to find."

Elena glared at her, "Well, it's easy to find, so I won't bother the deputy sheriff."

The two let go of each other's arms. Amanda glanced at her car, turned her head and said, "Oh, who did I say, so you met that old guy. Why, are you afraid of him?"

They had to walk into the living room one after the other, and Amanda sat relaxed on the sofa. Before Elena could take a closer look at the surrounding environment, she sat down and said, "Afraid? No, it's just that I'm a little nervous seeing your father for the first time. You know it."

"Hehe, why are you nervous? What are you drinking, I'll pour it for you." Reaching out for the cup on the coffee table, she stood up and walked to the kitchen.

Only then did Elena relax on the sofa and look at the furniture around her, "Orange juice, thank you. Well, your home is very beautiful and cozy. Dear, can you show me your room? I think......"
