You changed me
Chapter 3
"You worked hard enough to complete the task, Carlos, you were kissed by Ben for so long the day before yesterday in public." Jay said too loudly.
Carlos blushed like fire, but he didn't say anything.
Because there are more difficult things to worry about right now, Ben wants to go out with him.
"What the hell is he thinking? Don't you guys date every day?" Jay yelled. He has become more and more confused.
"Hold on for a few more days, Carlos. The coronation ceremony is coming soon." Mal raised his head from the magic book and comforted him without sympathy.
Mal's words made Carlos feel a little lost, and it wasn't just him who felt lost.
"Actually, I think it's pretty good here. Although those princes always play games like 'You go first' and 'No, you come first', it feels good to play together." Jay hesitated opened his mouth.
"Have you forgotten why we are here? To prove to our parents that we are evil! This is our only chance!" Mal said impatiently.
"Actually, I don't think it's as bad as I imagined here," Eive rolled his eyes, but didn't look at Mal. "The girls are quite friendly, and the princes are very gentlemen. To be honest, compared to the island I like the life here better."
"What's the matter with you all? Don't forget that we are bad guys to the bone! We need to get the wand, and then all the good things here will be ruined! Those who hurt our parents will be punished, and they will be punished. □, or be killed, this place will become the most terrifying hell..." Mal said, his voice weakened, and finally fell completely silent.
The four of them pretended to be happy until Ben came to Carlos with a bright smile as usual, but it was unsuccessful.
"Have fun!" Mal, who is usually the best at acting, said with a smile that was uglier than crying.
"We will." Ben smiled brightly and left with his arms around Carlos' shoulders.
Carlos couldn't be happier, as long as he thought of Mal's words, his heart hurt as if a piece had been chopped off. He was so focused on thinking that he didn't notice where Ben took him.
"Close your eyes, Carlos, I want to surprise you." Ben whispered into Carlos' ear.
Carlos quickly dodged to the side, but obediently closed his eyes.
"I don't think you're happy. What's going on?" Ben asked Carlos softly, taking Carlos' hand and guiding him forward.
"It's nothing, we're just, homesick, you know, even evil villains get homesick." Carlos lied.
"Well, then hopefully my surprise cheers you up again. You can open your eyes now."
Carlos opened his eyes and let out a gasp.
There is a dreamlike scene in front of you, the calm and clear lake, the long waterfall, the stone pillars full of history, everything is extremely beautiful.
"I hope you like swimming, sorry I really don't know what you like to do." Ben said shyly.
"Unfortunately I can't swim. On the island we're blocked by a barrier from the lake." Carlos told the truth, thinking at least he didn't have to lie to Ben about it.
"It's all my fault, I should have asked you directly instead of preparing some stupid surprise," Ben said ruefully.
"But I love this place, really, Ben, thank you."
Ben's eyes light up again, and he begins to take off his shirt:
"Wait here for me, I'll be right back."
Ben jumped into the water, and soon the water was smooth again.
Carlos wandered around with nothing to do, walking around the pillar over and over again, but he still didn't see Ben come back.
He began to worry, and finally couldn't bear it and jumped into the water.
Carlos was convinced that his brain must have flooded or was stolen by that cute puppy when he was sleeping with Dude last night, and he couldn't swim and jumped into the water just like that. For the umpteenth time, he thought that he might as well just die like this.
Suddenly a pair of gentle hands under the water supported him, he opened his eyes and closed them immediately.
Because he, Carlos, was rescued ashore by a boy in a princess hug.
"Thank you for saving me, but don't use this position next time." Carlos said awkwardly.
"You can't swim, why go into the water?" Ben looked at him and said.
"I think you've been underwater for too long, so I thought something happened to you." Carlos said as he shook his head, water droplets kept falling.
"You can't swim, but you still go into the water to save me?" Ben's voice changed obviously, he stretched out his palm, and held a shiny stone in front of Carlos.
"This is the wishing stone, make a wish."
"What if I was never born?" Carlos said with a wry smile and went to get the stone.
"No, it's not good, this is the worst wish I've ever heard, and I won't allow you to make this wish." Ben reached back with a serious face, and put the wishing stone back into the water.
"You can't expect the villain's descendants to say any good wishes, after all, we are evil by nature." Carlos said with a wry smile.
"Carlos, stop talking about yourself like that, okay? You're not evil, and neither are Jay, Mal and Eive, I can see that." Ben got more serious, looking at Carlos gently but seriously.
"If I wasn't evil, we wouldn't be here at all now."
"Carlos, you know I love you, but there is one question I never asked you, do you love me?" Ben ignored Carlos' thought-provoking words, he further shortened the distance between the two, and asked seriously.
"I, I'm not sure, maybe not." Carlos knew he had to keep lying, but the thought that Ben's life would be in danger soon made him reluctant to lie to Ben again. He resented himself for being naive, never thinking that if their plan succeeded, Auradon would become a hell on earth.
He was really happy when he was with Ben, and he was really worried when he thought Ben had an accident just now, but he still lied to him and would hurt Ben, which made Carlos dare not admit that he liked Ben.
"Are you lying to me? Carlos, look me in the eyes, are you lying to me?"
Ben's eyes dimmed, which made it harder for Carlos, who still liked the way they sparkled.
"I really don't know," Carlos finally replied.
Carlos blushed like fire, but he didn't say anything.
