Chapter 7 [Mother]

When the beautiful black car drove into the slums, many poor people put down their work and rushed out to watch. There was noise all around, and the road was uneven.Chester's face was cold, and he clenched the steering wheel tightly to control his emotions. His body is obviously resisting here, not only because of the surrounding people watching, but also because he made a huge mistake in this harsh place. And the root of the mistake, sitting next to him, narrowed his eyes and put on a smile.Chester saw his Omega monitor outside, and from now on, he belonged to him.

But he doesn't want to have it.

Gradually inward, people dispersed a lot. There are colorful houses on both sides of the road. The car drove to the end and stopped in front of a small yellow house.

Cory's home was pretty, compared to the filthy, messy houses around it.The small houses have white roofs and pale yellow skins. The door is in the middle, and there is a small square window in the upper right corner. There are many plants piled up in the corner, and they are arranged in a row in brown flower pots. There is a watering can next to the flower pots. Maybe someone was watering here just now. There is a small field behind the pale yellow house, surrounded by a small white fence. There are some sparse green in the field, it seems that the result is not so ideal.

They opened the car door and got out of the car. A gray puppy with its tongue out jumped out of the door. This belonged to the neighbor Mr. Leon's, and a little girl followed the puppy out.

"Brother, you are back!"

Cory stepped forward quickly, picked up his little sister Linda, and kissed her on the cheek.

The little girl was very thin, and her skin was rarely fair. She was wearing a long-sleeved white dress, but a pair of very old sandals on her feet, which made the girl look out of place for this season. But what is undeniable is that this girl's eyes are beautiful, like two clear glass balls, exuding a light brown light. She also has black hair that shines in the sun. These are gathered on her body, so that people can easily ignore the few small flaws on her body.

But she's not like her brother - when they're together.Maybe she's like her father.

"Oh, Corey, you're finally back. It scares me the most these days. Those black-uniformed policemen are always in front of our house..." A woman with light blond curly hair and blue eyes came out of the house, wearing a black suit. shawl and a long brown skirt. She looked tired, with that listless look in her eyes. But her voice is so soft that people can't help but calm down after hearing it.

When Corey's mother, Mrs. Damon, walked out of the house, she was taken aback by what she saw, even though she had been feeling that way for days. Her son Cory was still wearing the clothes of a few days ago, his face was pale, and there was a look of tiredness hidden between his brows. An expensive black car was parked behind Corey, and a man he had never seen before was leaning against the door and looking over with a blank expression.

"Corey." She turned to look at her son.

"Leave him!"

With a cold face, Corey walked into the room with Linda in his arms. When he left, he kicked Leon's puppy, so that the little shaggy beast wouldn't keep spinning its tail around him.

Chester closed the car door and came in front of Mrs. Damon. He greeted Mrs. Damon very politely, but he couldn't hide his cold and oppressive aura. Alpha's scent spread silently around his body, as if warning, but also as if luring.

Mrs. Damon panicked. She pulled her hair up on one side and lowered her head, which made her look even more frail.

"Mr. Williams? I heard that doctor, that red-haired lady calling you that." Mrs. Damon blinked her eyes.

"Yes." Chester replied, "You can call me Williams or Chester directly."

The curly-haired woman nodded and looked away. There was a panic on her face, an emotion that seemed real to her.As a mother of three children, she has a unique maturity and stability. At this moment she looked very contradictory, her pale eyebrows were slightly frowned, and her still young face was stiff and expressionless.

"If you don't mind, Williams." Mrs. Damon looked up and smiled at Chester, "I can come in and pour you a cup of tea."

Chester nodded and followed Mrs. Damon into the house.Corey's home is simple and tidy. There is a kitchen on the right hand side after entering the door, with a table and a refrigerator. On the left is the living room, where there is a long sofa and a small brown-red table. There are only two bedrooms connected to the living room.

Mrs. Damon took the cup and teapot from the kitchen, and Chester sat down at the table. The water was poured into the cup and white smoke came out, and Chester smelled a very faint fragrance.Mrs. Damon seemed to withdraw her expression, and she calmed down.Viewed from the side, her slightly drooping eyelids have curled long eyelashes, untied curly hair falls from her temples, accompanied by her soft chin, her neck is slender and fair, with beautiful lines.Chester saw Corey's shadow in this still unfamiliar woman.

"They told me a lot, the police, the doctors, etc." Mrs. Damon didn't stop her movements, "Cory is still very...he is a very disobedient person."

Chester showed a shallow smile: "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."

Mrs. Damon put down the teapot and put the cup lightly in front of Chester. She looked at Chester, her dark blue eyes were sad and sighed, she pursed her lower lip, and said sincerely to Chester: "I think it's me who should be sorry, Williams, I am very grateful to you. She looked up to the window, and Chester saw the woman's fingers tightened a little bit inward, and she was controlling her emotions.Mrs. Damon turned her head back quickly, "I didn't mean to waste your time, I thought I'd go see Corey, thank you for bringing Corey to see me, my little girl has been noisy, she misses her brother."

Mrs. Damon frowned and nodded to Chester, and walked towards the room.

Chester picked up the teacup and took a sip, it was very sweet. He shook the teacup, and the pale yellow liquid inside swayed with it.Five seconds later, he put down his glass and strode out of the house and into his car.

Cory sat on the bedside and played with Linda. Linda was like a natural joyful person. She was ignorant of the world and innocent, and Cory could make her giggle with a few small gestures.

Mrs. Damon leaned against the door, crossing her hands. Her eyes were calm, and she didn't want to disturb them.

Corey and Linda laughed together, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of his mother standing at the door, leaning against the door frame. She stood there silently, like a sculpture or a pointer, and Corey felt fatigue and deep helplessness from her.

Corey patted Linda, and Linda held Corey's arm and refused to leave. The clingy greyhound circled around Linda's feet, barking at Corey like a drugged hyperactive person.Corey leaned forward and kissed Linda's face, took out two small biscuits from his pocket and handed them to her, Linda ran away happily.

"Corey," Mrs. Damon called his name.

Corey watched Linda off, his eyes were long and deep, and he stayed on Linda's back for a long time, unwilling to return.Mrs. Damon's voice woke him up from the small world he had constructed. It was uncomfortable, and Corey stood up irritably and walked to the corner.

Mrs. Damon turned to him: "Those people have told me a lot, what they mean is that they hope that I or... whoever it is, has no right to interfere. Corey, I used to think about what your future will be like , now I think it might be a good thing." Mrs. Damon's frowning made her previously smooth forehead skin finely textured. She tried to weigh her words, which seemed a little cautious.

Corey asked her, "Did you tell your father about this?"

"Not yet. Your father is still working outside. I'm not sure which city he's in. I don't want him to worry. We always drag him down."

Corey scoffed.A drag, his mother always thought so humblely. The father who doesn't know where he is, he may be working hard to earn money, or he may be confused by the outside world and become greedy and ruthless.Corey didn't know, he hadn't seen his father for a long time, and Linda was still in his mother's stomach when his father left. His mother was a Beta, and his eldest sister was also a Beta.Corey guessed that maybe his father was a Beta too, or maybe he was an Alpha, the rare poor Alpha.

In Corey's memory, he has little impression of his eldest sister, and he has been with his mother for a long time. His mother had always been gentle, and her iris-colored eyes were always full of pity and love.Cory was thinking that such a caring and warm person, if she hadn't been attracted to the ghetto, she would have been fine.

Dragging, Cory couldn't tell who was pulling whom.

"Your partner is still waiting for you outside, you should move faster." Mrs. Damon reminded.

Corey turned around, a little angry: "Don't use that word, it's not good!"

Mrs. Damon was still weak and tired, which made her voice soft: "Cory, relax yourself. It's not good for the baby in your womb. Your emotions will affect him."

Corey raised his eyebrows. "You know him? You want to see him? You want to see him come out of your son's body, in the house of a nasty man. How stupid! He ruined our lives!"

Mrs. Damon replied: "You shouldn't have said that to me, you know, my dear Corey, I can't change anything."

"You took the money! That man's, the government's. You sold your son for that money!"

Corey spoke a little excitedly, and his voice was a little louder. He didn't understand why he was like this, the first restlessness flooded into his body and occupied his brain. He lingered in the small room, the air was very clean, he could feel that there was no Alpha smell here.

Mrs. Damon came into the room, trying to hold Corey to his nerves. In the eyes of her son, she is a cowardly woman, he avoids contact with her, and he can't even see the guilt that should be in his mother's eyes.

"Cory." The woman's face was still calm, or should I say she was numb.Cory walked restlessly, around the edge of the bed, around the small bed he had slept in. "Cory, you used to smash the drinks, the counters, the windows and the tables in the bar, and you made a mess of Boss Smith's bar. I still haven't paid back the money, even though I did Six jobs."

Corey sat slumped on the bed, his mother always hitting the nail on the head, and he couldn't argue anymore.Corey covered his face with his hands, speechless. He was disappointed in himself, he couldn't control the change. He can always pretend to be good in the eyes of outsiders, but for his family and those close to him, he is emotional. He turned his negative emotions into arrows and fired them, trying to make them feel the same way.

A hand covered the top of Cory's head and stroked his hair. The hand might be rough and thin, but an indescribable warmth passed through it.Corey accepted the reassurance in silence, and then he heard a soft sigh from his mother.
