Chapter 64

In February, Riddle took me on a trip to Hogwarts—with me still in his pocket, of course.

He has a plan to serve as a professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts, and when he receives the letter of approval, he will resign from the position of assistant to the minister.

I don't know why it's not appropriate to leave a good assistant to the minister, but why I still want to be a professor of defense against the dark arts. But everything he does must have been planned, mostly because of that Gryffindor sword I guess.

"Of course, I'd be happy to let you take the job, Tom." Dippet shook his stubble happily, "After a while, we will send you a letter to arrange your entry time."

"Thank you, sir." He walked out of the principal's office.

I wanted to poke my head out, but he held him in his pocket. It was pitch black, and I could only feel the bumps of his walking.

I waited for a long time, he limped into something, then stopped, I thought he would let me out, but his hand still didn't let go.I flopped a few times.

I heard the sound of things colliding, like a small object was placed on a hollow thing.

After a while, he resumed his steps, and it took a few minutes for me to see the light again.I looked around, and Hogwarts had been left behind.

I really wanted Principal Dippett to reject his application for admission, unfortunately, apparently, he likes Riddle very much.I think it won't be long before Riddle's position as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor will be confirmed.

But the strange thing was that after waiting for three months, Riddle still hadn't received the letter.Riddle didn't want to wait any longer, he thought it was weird--even I thought it was weird. He set off for Hogwarts again, and he was taken to the headmaster's office by other professors, and there was no one in the empty office.

"You sit down and wait a while, Tom." I heard Minerva's voice.

I poked my eyes out of my pockets and looked at the familiar but already mature face.

I miss her very much.

She turned and left the office.

After waiting for about ten minutes, I unexpectedly saw an old professor with a gray beard walking in.He adjusted his glasses, sat leisurely on the office chair, and stared at Riddle through the lenses.

I could feel Riddle's stiff body, his hand was tightly clenched into a fist next to me, and he couldn't stop trembling slightly.Instead, I breathed a sigh of relief.

The air was eerily quiet, as if it was about to become a solid entity.

"Professor Dumbledore." A cold, respectful voice sounded from Riddle above my head.

"I'm afraid you need to call me headmaster, Tom." Dumbledore's facial muscles twitched imperceptibly, he picked up the resume on the desktop, and carefully looked at it page by page.Even if I hid in the dark and didn't face this hidden confrontation, I didn't dare to take a breath.

"On behalf of Hogwarts, I have to express my regret that your application for employment was not approved." Dumbledore said in a soothing tone, "As far as I know, you are currently holding a good job in the Ministry of Magic. Work, keep going, Tom." He closed Riddle's information, and instead of handing it to him directly, put it on the table.Riddle sat there numbly, and took a while to get his resume back.

Fortunately, Dumbledore still remembered my words. As long as he knows Riddle's purpose, everything will be much easier.

"Excuse me, Principal Dumbledore." He took two steps back, bowed slightly to Dumbledore, turned and walked out.

Riddle turned into a cloud of black smoke and left Hogwarts, but stayed not far away, and looked back at this place again. His eyes were full of bone-chilling chill.

Dumbledore angered him.

He closed his eyes, and I saw his wand draw countless black symbols in the air, which quickly spread out and disappeared over Hogwarts.

"Starting today, every Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts will not teach for more than one year." He said coldly to himself, "Defense Against the Dark Arts will eventually decline, and they will enjoy the benefits brought by the Dark Arts." Feast - I look forward to that day."

……

I stopped writing, thought for a moment, and burned the letter paper I had just written to ashes.

Orion has not been heard from for some time.

He didn't tell me anything about his work or family. I sent two letters, but he didn't answer any of them.

I want to go to him, but I can't go to the Ministry of Magic, and I can't ring the doorbell of his house. I can only wait in silence. After a long time, I feel a little restless.

The dull air presses against my chest, and I always feel that something bad is going to happen.

Riddle stood in front of my desk with his back to the door, as if waiting for me on purpose.

"Riddle?" My heart tightened. "You didn't go to the Ministry of Magic?"

"You forget that you don't need to work today."

I looked at the calendar and realized that today is Sunday.

"Ok."

He turned around, leaned against the table with his hands behind his back, raised his chin slightly, and his appraising eyes fell on my face. I faintly sensed a hint of danger, but I couldn't be sure.

"However, even if it's free time, I didn't expect to gain something." He said lightly.

I frowned, not knowing what he meant.

He straightened up and approached me step by step. I subconsciously took a few steps back, and my heels touched the edge of the wall before stopping.

Riddle didn't look at me, I saw an envelope in his hand, my breathing stopped for a moment, he opened the envelope in front of me without haste.I have been able to ascertain that it was a reply from Orion to me—a reply which I did not receive.

It was as if something exploded in my brain. I wanted to take the letter from him, but he quickly moved the hand holding the letter to a higher place, and the other hand grabbed my hand. Neck, after feeling the cold touch on the neck and the subsequent pain of suffocation, the back of my head hit the wall hard, my eyes were dark, and it took a few seconds for me to recover.

Without squinting, he glanced at the entire content of the letter.I'm sure Orion just wrote something inconsequential, otherwise I might not have been pinned against a wall by his neck.

"It never occurred to me, Ashley," he crumpled the letter into a ball, and a flame shot out from his hand, and it quickly burned to ashes, and he scattered the residue on the ground, "it turns out You're also connected to Orion Black."

He turned his head and looked directly into my eyes, I saw that his eyes were completely dark red, I had a premonition, and began to struggle, trying to break away his hand that was strangling my neck, but this made him even harder up.

"No." I shook my head, but it was useless. His eyes sucked me into it like a deep vortex. For the first time, I felt the aggressiveness rampaging in my mind. It was so powerful that it was terrifying. My insignificance His soul was forced to tremble in a corner, and I finally realized how weak the Occlumency I had thought to be perfect for so many years was in his eyes.

I resisted desperately, restrained myself from thinking about those things, but I couldn't—they flashed frequently, the red dress that matched the roses was so hot, Orion and I held hands in the heavy snow Running around, I seem to still feel the warmth of the embrace under the beech tree, and the indescribably wonderful atmosphere under the mistletoe—I was surprised to find that when my eyes once again appeared the near When I looked into the black eyes, I actually felt my abnormal, accelerated heartbeat, and a faint pinprick-like throbbing pain.

I tried to close my eyes, which did not resist the tough and wanton probing.

"Get out of my head." I clenched my teeth and squeezed out a few words.

Exhaustion filled my whole body, my temples were swollen and painful, and some warm liquid flowed from my nasal cavity, slipped through the corners of my mouth, and dripped on my clothes and the ground.

The pressure in my head and neck went away at the same time, and my legs gave way and I fell to my knees.I wiped my nose with trembling hands, and my hands were stained with bright red blood.

Riddle slowly knelt down and looked at me at the same level. I didn't have the energy to guess the emotion hidden in his eyes. This silent atmosphere lasted for a long time.

"Interesting." He was finally willing to utter a sentence from his mouth.

I stared at him, not trying to hide the hatred that rushed to my head.

"You betrayed me, Ashley." He said flatly.

"What about betrayal?" I asked back.He only cared about digging out everything related to Orion in my memory, but didn't pursue other things, "I didn't do anything to harm your interests."

"No, it was me you betrayed." He looked at me coldly, his tone so cold that I couldn't help shivering, "It was Tom Riddle."

I froze for a moment and shook my head.

"Betrayal," I said sarcastically, with some self-deprecation. "We don't have any special relationship, Riddle. It's just an unfinished deal. It's just that we're out of balance."

"do not have it?"

"Yes, how many years ago."

"Then why are there no more now?" His voice was unusually calm, as if he was really asking me about it.

He is asking knowingly.

"You know very well," I said.

Riddle's face was gloomy, I leaned tiredly against the wall, all the strength in my body slipped away along the cold wall.

He suddenly pinched my chin, and an aggressive hot kiss fell on my lips, mixed with a trace of blood, he demanded the air I needed to breathe a little jerky, I resisted and wanted to push him away , but his strength was a bit rougher, and I bit the corner of his mouth hard.

He let go of me, stood up, and touched the fresh wound on the corner of his mouth. There was a terrible hostility in the air, and I closed my eyes, waiting for his next move - I was almost certain to get some punishment, possibly Cruciatus, or even the Killing Curse.

My eyelids trembled, but I didn't get anything, except for the sneer in the silence.

"What are you waiting for?" I opened my eyes, and he looked down at me coldly.

"Someone will pay for this for you, Ashley."

Demonic whispers drifted into my ears, my numb nerves came to life, and I stared blankly at him.

I panicked suddenly, the extreme fear multiplied, much stronger than when I was ready for him to give me a Cruciatus Curse or a Killing Curse.

"What are you going to do?" I heard my own voice, which was weaker than ever, wrapped in a thin layer of crying.

He didn't answer my question, just turned around and wanted to go out the door.

"No, Riddle!" I cried in pain, "No! I beg you—"

I took out my wand hoping to stop him from leaving, but he was one step ahead of me, and my wand fell out of my hand and landed on the ground in the distance.

I am trapped by the Imprisoning Curse, unable to move.

"I beg you - I won't have anything to do with him again, I swear, you can tell me to do anything, don't hurt him!" The water vapor covered my eyes, I've never been so scared.

"What do you think you are qualified to—"

"This is the bottom line, Riddle," I could only see a black shadow in front of me, I pleaded, "You can't, you can't... take everything from me."

"Look at you now, Ashley." I heard his sarcasm.

"I'll give you this chance." He said softly, "Remember, this is the last chance."

"Before you do anything in the future, I hope you can think about the price." After speaking, he took a step and walked out of the room.

"—I hate you." Every cell in my body is urging me to say these words.

The ticking of the pointer overwhelmed my senses, and I struggled to breathe.

He stood there motionless for a while, and finally raised his eyebrows slightly, still without any superfluous expression on his face.

"I know."

The clear sound of closing the door opened my fresh heart.

I took a long breath and closed my eyes carefully.Time and something unnamed passed quietly in a gray mist.
