Resident Evil Redemption

Chapter 37 Transition

"Is this a severe burn?" Shrine frowned, looking at his red hands. She may have a new understanding of this injury.

really……

Serious injuries in two accidents, one minor injury, and the recovery cycle continues to shorten at an alarming rate... Wesker finally realized the seriousness of the matter. He even regretted that he hadn't made a conclusion earlier.

"Perhaps they really made a mistake." He stared at the girl's red hands and said calmly.

"That's weird..." Shrine studied his hands. In addition to feeling the flow of blood, she also developed fasciculations in her right hand. This made her feel as if something else was flowing in her blood. She tried to make a fist.

He stood aside without speaking, just quietly observing. After a while, her hands exposed to the air changed from red and swollen to normal. And, no more fasciculations. The knuckles are flexible and normal, and the skin has no adhesions... It seems that everything has returned to the way nothing happened at the beginning. While surprised, he wasn't sure what he was expecting. Shrine didn't seem too bothered about this sort of thing.Maybe she didn't know what the hell was going on.

"There's one more thing." Wesker found himself stuck somewhere out of the corner of his eye.

"About me, huh?" Shrine tucked into his notebook the photo he had given her a few minutes earlier.Did not look up.

"Yes." His gaze was still on the notebook. That thing gave him a sense of crisis.

"..." Shrine stopped what he was doing, took a deep breath, "Okay, you can tell me now."

"Your... well... your former home, that house was destroyed. They tried their best to stop the fire from spreading, but they still failed." It was another calm statement like writing a report.

"..." Sure enough, Shrine had expected it a long time ago.Maybe she was just waiting for the words to come out of other people's mouths. "Can I... can I go back and have a look?"

"Anytime." He agreed so calmly.as usual.

Shrine looked through the window to see a narrow corner of sunlight outside the window. She seemed to be asking herself. Why go back? She didn't want to face this fact at all.Probably, that is to allow myself to completely accept the baptism of reality.

"Wait until after get off work." Shrine hesitated for a while, then said to him.

"Okay, but..." Wesker lifted his arm and glanced at his watch. He had a meeting to attend. "Today, I will drive the car."

This is not a discussion, this is clearly an order from the superior. Shrine just nodded slightly embarrassed.

The twilight of midsummer refuses to recede for a long time.

The captain drove the car, and Shrine sat in the passenger seat. Her mood is very complicated. Anna left so suddenly, it pained her and confused her. That familiar dread was slowly eating away at her.

Unconsciously, she began to think about every second she had spent with Anna before the incident.Where is the exception?Where did it go wrong?

"Shrine?" Wesker glanced at her, tentatively.

"Huh?" Shrine leaned against the car window, stroking her forehead with her fingers, tiny beads of sweat oozing from her forehead due to nervous thinking and restlessness in midsummer.

"Your brother...Evans, he..." Wesker asked intermittently, "looks in a hurry, doesn't he?"

"Strictly speaking, he is not my brother, but a cousin. But we grew up together, and he treats me very well, just like a sister." Shrine pressed the car window, and the wind blew her and was dyed red by the setting sun s hair. "To be honest, I don't know much about his job. Maybe a busy programmer, I think."

The two chatted without saying a word.

"It's here..." The car stopped and turned off.
